  1. Greetings! my BF turbo is stock except for a growler CAI, and an aftermarket oil filter with braided lines. after lots of research I think I've figured out the course of my first few mods.. 1. hiflow cat & dump pipe 2. intercooler kit w/ battery relocation (pod filter box on turbo side) 3. flash tune w/ injectors & fuel pump 4. wastegate actuator ?? (suggested by the mechanic) I havent decided on a power figure that I want to achieve, and id rather spend a little more on solid upgrades then get bang for buck.. not having a heap of cash upfront, these few mods would take place over the next few, maybe 6 months. a couple of questions for you all =) .... 1. a number of threads and websites have mentioned upgrading the valve springs, my bf build date is 08/06, should I be looking at this upgrade too? 2. is it likely that ill run into issues if I hold off to get the flash tune ?? 3. there are so many brands & performance shops out there, I have been looking at ces for the exhaust, processwest for the IC and a herrod motorsport flash tune, no idea for injectors and pump yet.. any thoughts or suggestions as to these providers or any noteworthy alternatives? thanks for your help! =)
  2. lol.. SS said that their OTR kit "CAI-020" (BF 6CYL non-turbo version) could warp and because of that it's not covered by warranty if it's installed in a XR6T. My mate suggested if I can't find the turbo version then I could consider removing the rubber seal/mold above the firewall at the back part of the bonnet, so that the heat is dissipated towards the windshield instead of back over the radiator. And then install the non-turbo version with less chance of the plastic warping.. Any thoughts?? Cheers
  3. UPDATE: Spoke with SS Inductions and the only compatible part is their "CAI-021" for BF XR6T as it is made to withstand a higher heat and not warp due to the turbo engine. Unfortunately this part is discontinued! Does anyone know of other manufacturers that make OTR induction kits to replace the factory snorkel, that will fit to the standard BF XR6T airbox?

That sounds like good fun! New member here on the forum and excited to get involved. First car I've owned that I've taken a serious interest in (BF XR6T) Are there any other events going on that are a one day affair?
  5. Greetings, I currently have installed in my BF XR6T a Growler CAI kit in place of the factory airbox. There are two Big Mouth over the radiator induction kits for the same series: http://www.ssinductions.com.au/products/Ford-BA%252dBF-6Cyl-%26-XR6-Big-Mouth-Cold-Air-Induction.html http://www.ssinductions.com.au/products/Ford-BA-Boss-V8-Big-Mouth-Cold-Air-Induction.html My question is: is it possible to fit the V8 version to my Growler airbox for a larger OTR induction? Or does anyone know of other manufacturers that make OTR induction kits to replace the factory snorkle? Cheers
  6. Sweet. Well with my induction system sorted, I wonder what might be next Still under dealer warranty so I'm not to sure what I can muck around with Although I'm trying to keep costs down and do nothing major just yet
  7. Ahhh yes the crinkled pipe is the pipe I'm talking about. Thank you for clearing that up, I've been confused for a while (first car I've owned that I actually looked under the bonnet) I wonder what my friend was on about. I have seen some pipes that replace the crinkled one that are a solid, straight plastic pipe, perhaps that was it.
  8. Greetings I recently installed a new CAI kit on my BF Turbo and a friend has said I should replace the factory tube between the air box and crossover pipes (could someone please confirm if this tube is actually called the SNORKEL ???) Would there be any benefit to replacing this? What kind of tube should I get? And who might sell them? I have seen some on the herrod motorsport site although they say they don't make one for a BF. Cheers =)
  9. Greetings I recently bought a 2006 BF XR6T Colour is Seduce and the previous owner has put silver GT stripes down the side. I'm considering removing the stripes, but I'm worried that the rest of the cars paint may have faded which could leave me with two different shades of paint on the car. Has anyone experienced this?? And any ideas how much a respray in the same original colour could cost?? Appreciate the help! :sungum:
