  7. Hey guys im changing looms and found this on the back passenger side under parcel shelf. The bf has it but ba doesnt. Im guessing cause it had the premo sound/sunroof etc its something extra, possibly for rear parking sensors?? Can anyone tell me what it is? Cheers guys
  8. Interesting cheers mate. So somehow the mats go hard and form with the resin to sand down in the end
  9. cheers mate im a little confused though. In some the youtube videos I watched they used a thinner stuff they paintbrushed in which im sure is the resin. Then when it dried they used a thick stuff they coated it with, is this an alternative to the strips of mat u talked about. Do u use the resin, put sheets of mat down, resin, sheets of mat down 4-6 layers, let it dry then sand it smooth?
  10. So correct me if I'm wrong from what I've read. You build your shape. Use material to help get shape. Then you cover it in a resin and let it dry Then u layer it with mat. Sand it back and keep doing layers Then do u have to use a body filler for some reason. Sand it back then u paint it?
  11. as of today it seems the shifter is the least of my worries http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/78625-gearbox-looms/
  12. Hey guys My car rebuild was nearing the end ready for engine to go in but ive come to a crossroads. For those who dont know I have an empty BF shell with all wiring looms and im putting everything from my crashed BA. Including the 4 speed auto into the bf shell which had a 6 speed auto in it. I pulled the shifter out today and all this time I was thinking the wiring loom that plugs into shifter would have just had a plug at the other end but it seems to wire straight into the big main loom that runs right up behind drivers kickpanel. WHAT DO I DO? Does this mean I have to replace the whole loom setup from fuse box/kick panel all the way through or can I wire up my 4 speed plug somehow? The 6 speed shifter plug has 8 wires where as the 4 speed plug only has 5, does it use the same 5 plus an extra 3 I can just get rid of? Help meeeee! Cheers :D
  13. Yeah it's just the shifter not the box it was an empty shell I bought no mechanics just had shifter still in floor wasn't sure if I changed looms it would work
  14. Cause I'm pretty sure they only came out in fpv and ghias
  15. Hey guys Does anyone have a walk through or explain how to do a fibreglass boot set up. I know u make the basic shape out of timber but that's bout it do u wrap it in a material and apply the fibreglass putty to the material or what? I'm keen to give it a try
  16. Yeah I had a feeling there wouldn't be enough room. Gives me motivation to come up with a custom mod for sunnies. I always put mine up in visor but it gets annoying cause I'm tall lol
  17. Separate question but what are you doing to your ED with this?
  18. Are u sure it's hittin limiter? What revs is it hitting and changing? Think limiter is 5800?
  19. Just seeing if the roof mounted interior lights and sunglasses holder out of the ghias and such can be mounted in cars with a sunroof? If so ate they easy to do DIY? Cheers lads
  20. Sorry to dig up old thread but better than making new topic on something that had been covered plenty. When gettin the centre muffler removed for around $100 give or take are people just getting it cut out and rewelded or is that to get it unbolted from in front and behind and gettin twin pipes same length made up with the bolt up flanges so you can change it back anytime you want?
