So stock car ZF should still be ok? That's my main concern with it being from Sydney. How much did the b&m zf cooler cost you? I heard should change to steel pan too? He says car has always had services would they had done zf service at 100k?

Hey guys Im finally in the hunt for a new T after writing mine off 16 months ago, I just have a few questions to help me out. Ive been around these cars for nearly 7 years now and built some nearly completely. Im interested in one at the moment but have a few worries. Its an 06 BF model, but it has 180,000km on it. Is this a lot or seems to be around the mark for a 6 year old car? I know in general fords can go for hundreds of thousands of km but just a bit wary. I also havnt had anything to do with the ZF as of yet, and even though when they came out they were considered an excellent box cause stock they can handle high amounts of power compared to the 4 speed, there seems to be a lot of horror stories going around about the whole milkshake thing and such. Is this a high risk thing for a car of this many km, especially if it may not have had a gearbox service? The guy says its had every serviced, but a general service wouldnt do a ZF service id imagine as its the better part of $5-800 am I wrong? So if the ZF hasnt had a service, is 180000km a high risk for the heat exchanger to erode or do whatever it does to cause the milkshake? When I go and look at the car, is there much a can look at to see how it is? Obviously look at the water and make sure it hasnt milkshaked or close to? But you cant exactly pull piping off to check the play of the turbo and such lol is there anything to look for maybe driving it in tiptronic and finding gear lags going back down gears or up and such? Cheers for any feedback guys ive missed my T so much and looking forward to getting behind the wheel again, just dont want to finally pick one up and been had

can someone tell me the tension for these bolts? workshop manual said 88nm of torque but that sounds a lot can anyone clarify?

nice install until you do a 3rd gear screen smash lol

hey guys sorry tried the search feature but couldnt find anything. Anyway asking for a mate, hes got just an xr6 and he wanted to know what parts need to be changed for a turbo conversion if hes got the engine. What is different in the running gear from xr6 to xr6t? Engine obviously, box is same, is tailshaft, diff, running gear different in any way? and obviously computer cheers guys

menace it is an auto, bionic my mate was asking me if mechanics have the programs to do it or ford is the only ones that can reprogram it?
-
So that can stop car from starting even though it's an air con module? Do ford reprogram them?
-
Bionic the him module is the big flat air con module behind the glove box? Someone mentioned that I didn't change it that's bout only thing that I left from 6 speed shell. Would air con module stop it starting?

jetsnot - We were manually turning it via the harmonic balancer at first when we were doing the 4 internal gearbox bolts, we got 3 bolted and after the 3rd bolt was done up that's when we couldnt manually turn it anymore from the harmonic with a breaker bar. Even if the electronic fuel pump cut off has been activated, the engine should still turn shouldnt it? Just like a car would if it was out of fuel? Bionic - yeh swapped ignition barrel, swapped the whole dash and wiring every single thing that was in old car is in new one. Which is the immobilier light? I thought immobilisor but wasnt sure how to find out for sure or how to fix?
-
Nah no relays or fuel pump you turn the key and nothing. Is there something in the gearbox that can jam up to stop u manually turning it?

Hey guys so basically, here is my story. I was in an accident end of last year hit a car then a telegraph pole doing 80+. Due to breaking up with ex all my mail was going to her place, therefore I wasnt receiving it and didnt know that my insurance was due, so long story short, I wasnt insured (yes I know dont need lectures on it lol) live n learn. Anyways, due to this, I was forced into making a decision, cut my losses and move on or do what not many people have done, build from scratch. So we decided to take the challenge and build from ground up, which was a realistic idea considering most of car was salvagable a part from front end gear (guards, bumper, bonnet, intercooler, radiator, air condensor etc), engine not touched. I purchased an empty bf shell and got to work. We stripped the falcon and got it out of yard, we then built the car from ground up, interior, running gear, put all the looms from old one into new one, exterior, then came the engine and gearbox. Basically the car is completely built and SHOULD be running, but isnt and after racking brains for last few weeks its really getting to me that its so close yet so far so im here for help. I have electrics, have dash lights, icc says "code", headlights and stuff, but car wont turn over at all. Now remembering back, when we did the gearbox and were doing the 4 internal bolts through the little spy plate, we would do one up, manually turn it to the next one but turning it for the last bolt the motor wouldnt turn anymore so we left it for time being thinking it was compression, but we had 2 extension bars on with a breaker bar and could not manually turn the motor, could compression get this hard or is it possible something is jammed in the gearbox/motor? This is the only thing can think of left that may be stopping the motor from turning over a part from electrics/wiring problem somewhere. Anybody think of anything or provide any info it would be HUGELY appreciated, also would a mechanic/tuner take car off hands and diagnose it/get it running for a decent price or not knowing what the details are would they not touch it? Cheers Guys Az

Is there a difference in him modules between ba and bf models cause its got the him module out of 6 speed auto bf but rest of gear is ba 4 spd
-
Well the 3 plugs in him seem to be seated ok
-
The 3 plugs in side of him module seem to be seated correctly, the him just controlled heater does it not? Would this cause no ignition??
-
Righto I'll have a look when I get home cheers mate was yours not winding either just turn key and nothing?
-
Not sure mate I checked all plugs and stuff before I started and thought they were all good but I'll check again even I get home grey module in passenger kick panel?
-
Not sure that's why I'm asking lol its come up code in the past when battery has been disconnected for a bit but soon as car starts up it went away. If its immobilized how do I fix that?
-
hey guys Build pretty much done and came time to try and start it up and got a whole lot of nothin lol Ive got dash lights, ignition surround light and icc power saying code, but turn the key and nothing happens no kicking or anything just nothing. I dont know if its because the car isnt running but underneath tacho it has the amount of km the car has done but under the speedo the little screen is blank, should that be coming up with stuff like what gear it is in etc when car is on accessories or only start up? I checked fuses and the engine fuse had blown so replaced that fuse and I still have no start up what so ever..Any possible ideas? Cheers guys

I think yas scared him lol
