I only found out yesterday as temp fencing has been up around it. Other thing is council rules state it must be minimum 900 from lot boundary so council probAbly won't even approve it. Not happy at all

Yeah I know it could get messy that's what I want to avoid. I'm going to see builder now ill give them a chance to make this right it's a big mistake and I think some sort of reimbursement is not asking to Much as its pretty much taken away our use of one side
-
Have u come across this before gege? I do final wall through less then an hour and builder supervisor is a condescending *beep* I think my gf is gonna see a side of me she hasn't seen before
-
All we signed were the plans before construction started we didn't sign anything since the set out started and I havnt read anything in the contracts about an acceptable tolerance either, even if there was 258mm isn't acceptable when there's less then a metre between structure and fence as it is

Hey guys After some information and knowledge pretty quickly. I'm building a home with McDonald jones and I have our final walk through today. The temp fencing came down few days ago so I was there yesterday marking out fencing etc and I've found that the house has been built off centre and doesn't not much the surveyors pegs so the back corner of house has lost 250mm on that side. I know it's made up for it on other side but problem is that side was right on envelope as it was and had bigger all room and now barely has any to walk down. House is suppose to have 958mm from back corner alfresco post to the side of block but now it's only 700mm to the surveyors pegs. As far as I'm concerned this is a breach of contract and a f*ck up as it has not been built to the design of the contracts I signed and causes a lot of issues as it is pretty much unable to be walked down once fence goes up and we have to change where we put bins and everything. Anyone come across this before? I know I'm probably sh*t out of luck but I think there should be some potential reimbursement or something a simple sorry will not suffice in my eyes

Is there an easy way to get to that bolt without taking everything off and out? Although gasket has probably blown out and needs replacing huh? Which is no small job
-
Hey thanks guys would that one bolt being loose be enough to leak a lot causing noise? I've got video it doesn't sound as bad as in person though. trim.RzkCIP.MOV

Hey guys I've had a slowly getting worse noise coming from engine/under drivers side. It's like a rattling noise that sounds like muffler is shot. Had it looked at and it's not exhaust it's coming more from engine so was thinking maybe manifold gasket. I took the heat shielding off to have a look and noticed one of the 4 bolts that join turbo and manifold seems to be sitting out and guessing it shouldn't. Would this be maybe a cause? I'm still thinking its something else but since it just started to rain on me I had to stop. I posted pic below of the bolt can someone just confirm this isn't normal and any suggestions what issue could be. Ill post video of noise when it stops raining and put pipe work back on

Hey guys how are we? Just thought id post up to try and get some info from someone that works with steel framed homes or has knowledge of them. Im building a home and the ppl at the company have decided to be dicks and wont put up timber nogs for television mounts and wont let me on site to do it myself. We have bought a new LG 70" (177cm) lcd tv for the home theatre and now worried about mounting it, We have a niece, picture nook whatever you want to call it and if we need to mount timber to wall in order to mount bracket it then makes the niece a little redundant. There is 2 steel studs running down the tv nook. Can I mount the wall bracket to these 2 studs if the bracket can reach them or am I better off just putting wood up in the nook and screwing the bracket to that? I know it is a "steel frame" but if people havnt had anything to do with these frames before, they may be stronger then I think but they feel so thin and flimsy. Any info is hugely appreciated. Once again it is a 70" tv, it is very big and quite heavy. Cheers

Hey guys Just after some peoples experiences with McDonald jones homes, hopefully Newcastle hunter valley area but anywhere would be good. We just got our council approvals back so mc jones has 20 working days to commence work. They say they are building within 4 months at the moment, on paper they have 6 months but I've heard horror stories. If u have built with them how long did it take to be built from slab to key handover? Any issues to keep an eye out for? Happy? Unhappy? Any info is helpful and appreciated cheers guys
