HI guys, I have an 05 BA, Just doing an oil change now, is THIS what I need to take apart? Cheers?
-
Sorry guys noob question & I hope this is in the right location.... I was wanting to check my turbo oil feed line screen on my 05 BA while doing an oil change.... Was just wondering if this is where its located? Thanks/Props to anyone who could give me a heads up. Much love from New Zealand.

Hi team just an update.. Pulled the filter surrounding house off and cleaned the throttle body, it was very clean compare to the pictures of others ive seen. I can detect a slight leak or hissing comming from the manifold, does a manifold leak make much of a noise? Or is it more likely a vacuum hose, or is this just a normal sound of vacuum? Some things to note is the car runs fine once warm and idles cold at about 1500 revs but just "shakes" a little. I hooked a OBD2 to the connection and the computer has no faults or historical faults that I can find. Below are some videos of the 2 issues, they are hard to see but you might get an idea. Start problem - throttle warning light, car just jerks around https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56979135/Start%20Problem..mp4 Vacuum/manifold leak? https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56979135/Possible%20leak.mp4

Hey mate, no the car is completely stock. I have borrowed a mates ODB adapter ill use this to see if I can see anything. Cheers

After some more research I think its the "throttle fault light" maybe the TPS sensor?

Hi guys, Hope you are all well and enjoying your easter? Was hoping for some suggestions into a problem im having with my 05 XR6T, I hope this is the correct forum section Sometimes when starting the car, and then selecting gear, either "R" or "Drive" the car just lurches back and forward and revs funny like its going to stall. The "orange" engine light on the right hand side of the dash/cluster also lights when its doing this. There is nothing I can do except put the car back into "Park" turn it completely off and turn it back on and hope it doesnt do it again. I have tried resetting the ECU by leaving the battery leads off overnight and following the retuning guide, this I thought helped cause it didnt do it after restarting the car a dozen times or so - I was wrong. I will say I have never had the transmission serviced in the 2 years ive owned it, wether or not its a transmission selection problem of some kind? Has anyone heard of this problem or have any suggestions? Thanks in advance team

Adding Aux Cable To Premium Sound (A Guide)
Vivasanti replied to Vivasanti's topic in Audio/Visual Workshop
OK guys some good info, I dont have an ipod. I was hoping that behind the stereo ICC there would be 2 RCA sockets to fit an RCAto a 3.5mm headphone cable :| Are you saying I dont have to remove the ICC to plug one of these in? Cheers. -
Hi guys, has anyone got a manual or guide to pulling out the ICC, YES I see there is a sticky topic about it but its not at the fileshare site anymore and I cant find a guide on pulling it out anywhere on the interwebs. I like to hook an auxiliary cable to the back thanks to anyone who can help.

Needs RE-uploaded :| -
Thought id post my follow up Just taken the car away for Christmas doing about 1000km of open road driving between citys to see my family, the car is going great - no more SHUDDER!! I had the following done in end.... New superpro lower control arm bush kits. New upper bush kits replace. New front rotors and bendix pads. Wheels rebalance + aligned etc He said the was ALOT of adjustment in the steering rack which has been adjusted almost completely out but to completely eliminate it a new rack will need to be fitted, which I will not be doing. thanks to all the helpful people who assisted Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.
-
Hey mate, thanks for ya input. Nah the car is standard. its got 18inch FPV wheels on it, new bushes all round top and botton (I havent driven the car since these have been fitted) now its getting new front rotors/pads fitted :D Will investigate the drive shaft now that you mention the do through weights, is it a pricey job? Have to just laugh all this off at this stage :D
-
Sounds Identical to mine man, ill let you know how the car goes when I get it back Simply putting up with it isnt an option for me, the car feels "unsafe" I dont want to carry my family round in it at all, if it shudders after changing all the stuff I have ill be selling it sadly, its a 2005 and the newest car ive got, I also have a 97 sti wrx and a 97 caldina, the Falcon is the worst of the lot at this stage :D Fingers crossed for when I get the car back, thanks for all your wise words guys.
-
Dunno yet, but I think he went for some stronger nolathane (sp?) type. Another guy tonight suggested driveshaft out of balance? I guess I wont know if any of this stuffs helped till I actually get the car back and take it on a long drive.
-
What? really so these cars just rolled out of the factory with shudder cause I think that's a load of BS.
-
Had the mechanic ring me ALL bushes have been changed, but he says the rotors have warped spots on them, gona get some new rotors and pads aswell, he took the car for a ride after doing the bushes and he said the was alot of feedback coming through the steering wheel and car, he reckons theres air in the power steering line? wtf. this is going from bad to worse the bills already looking like $1000 plus :(
-
Hey Luke, yep its a different mechanic all together, mechanic is sourcing the bushes, the ford shop is just over the road, he said hes looking for something with a higher compound. heres hoping....
-
Hey Guys cars at the mechanic, hes checked and all the front bushes are suspect (he said the lower control arm ones are sqwishy) but he said the upper ones aren't flash either so those are getting changed out also, ball joints are fine as I did them already :D should have got it all done at once, but as I posted previously the first mechanic said the bushes looked fine :| Really hoping these are gona fix the shuddering and I can hop in the car and enjoy going for a long trip rather than dreading it. Will update when I get the car back but im probably gona have to go for a long trip to test it out :|
-
Mate ya need to read my posts above, cheers for the help though, Balancing was the first thing I did.
-
Hey there mate thanks for your reply, while I see slotted rotors as a upgrade, im still running factory rotors, and I have no shudder at all while braking, which leads me to believe its something else, this shudder comes from nowhere when driving at 100+ kms and sometimes at a lower speed, when not using the brakes, if I was getting shuddering while braking in all conditions the rotors would be this first thing id look at. Am going with Lukes suggestion and getting the front lower control arm bushes replace, gona get it booked in tommoro, if its not this im gona rage quit and farking sell this car.
-
Is there any reason why the shudder comes and goes? wouldnt the shudder be constant? Thanks guys ill take it back to the shop! Im in NZ
-
Hi Guys, im back! Car was in about a week ago, Bushes - all ok. But one of the ball joints was buggered so got that replaced, hoped it would be this but NO, mechanic took the car for a ride and doesnt think its the rotors, they seem fine? Wife has taken the car away for the weekend and has just text me saying the car is Shuddering horribly, she had to pull over it was that bad, the thing is it comes as goes and its NEVER round town, only on the open road :( so to sum it up. Bushes - checked by a quailty mechanic - all ok Ball joint - replaced Rotors inspected and road tested - ok New tryres fitted/Balanced/Aligned Really am at a loss here, im gona pull that ABS fuse next time im going on a long trip. Anyone got any more ideas?
-
The little nuts and bolts are rusted on mine, let me know how you get on.
-
What is that cover in the center of my car, is it to protect the underside of the car from heat? What will happen if its removed? It vibrates and makes my car sound junky! I've got a BAII btw.
-
Thanks Wenier if bushes dont fix it, ill pull the fuse next time im going for a long tip, this is all good info, thanks team
-
Interesting, its only horrible when I'm braking, I can feel the shuddering occurring, and if I brake while the shudder is in effect it feels the worst, gona start by getting the bushes checked out but I will definately try that if I get no joy, cheers
