  1. For that much go wavetrac or trutrac with new gears and ims twin bush hat replacement. Then be amazed at how the car drives
  2. The precision will bolt on to your exhaust manifold and you use your existing exhaust housing. The first thing I would upgrade is your brakes. If you are going to drag the car then do your tailshaft for piece of mind. Can break things if lets go. Be prepared to rebuild gearbox and diff. You may need to eventually rebuild the engine to.
  3. The precision 6235 may be a better option for quicker spool and similar power to the gtx3582. Have no experience with the gtx gen2 though. With either of those turbos your going to have to upgrade/repair lots of other things though.
  4. If I was dling it again I would look at an after market exhaust manifold with the adaptor plate positioned further back. Potentially better performance and less mucking around. Obviously need to modify dump as well
  5. Not sure of the difference, but if you are redoing it use the cheapest, worst condition wheel you can find. You really only need the frame and switches, strip everything else off. I had mine lined with a marine material before getting new leather. Feels much better.
  6. I think Audi offer it as an option now. Will all the safety features now including autonomous braking, front and rear cameras are pretty standard. Should not take much to turn them into dash cams.
  7. Just unclip the gear surround. There are 2 bolts on the bottom of the leaver. From memory the boot is integrated with the stick and and knob and surround.
  8. There are guys selling the foams for the GTP seats (the best Ford factory seats) which can be trimmed and maintain the side airbag function. Sometimes can be cost effective compared to repairing older seats. I did this in my xr6t using the existing bases - maintains all the electric controls etc. Try leatherfx on facebook. Whatever you do - stay away from proseat.
  9. Saw one on the road yesterday. The Kia is a good looking car - kind of reminded me of when the Mustsng appeared on the roads. White with black bonnet vents- wonder if they are functional
  10. I thought the Stinger only comes as an auto - so sheila's car Yeah awd. But better than the audis/vw etc which are still mostly fwd
  11. I spent a week in the RS - that thing is virtually RWD, can send upto 100% of torque to the outside rear wheel. It also does this rear wheel overdrive thing where the rear wheels are spinning faster than the front. I will hang on to my xr6turbo 4 lyf, will have to have a good look at the Stinger. When is it released locally? The other option is one of the last SS Commodores......
  12. Ended up getting the new r888r due to rim limitation and size availability. Pretty good so far, equal to the original r888 in the dry, better in the wet and much quiter. Nelsonian101 - your tyre dude know his stuff as the new r888r allready has a groove now
  13. So, should I cancel my Focus RS order and get the Stinger?
  14. Been looking at tyres recently. The only thing I can add is that if you change from 19 to 18 inch rims you open up a lot more tyre options. Also, at that price point you could get some light weight rims that will also help improve performance.
  15. I think my issue with the R888 in the wet was when they were getting bald. Early on they were fine.
  16. Hmm, I should have looked at 18 inch rims. When I went wider 3 years ago it never occurred to me that 19 inch would limit tyre choice. Guessing the bigger sidewall improves performance as well. The AD08R look good, you rate them better for dry grip than the R888? The new R888R is supposed to be considerably quiter. However, aquaplaning at only 30km/hr doesnt inspire confidence. I have a Focus RS due in July, might relegate the falcon to dry conditions only! There is also a new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S just released in the US.
  17. Great feedback, thanks! Predominantly a street car, so want a street legal tyre. I have 9.5 inch rims on the back. Given up on longevity, prefer grip. I have 420rwkw in a manual with fast spool. The r888 was actually pretty good in the dry with the wheels straight. Should add currently running 265 30 19 on the back. Have had Goodyear F1A2 (not bad) and Michelin PSS (meh) before
  18. The R888 barely lasted 12000km. Great straight line grip, noisy, dangerous in the wet. Not sure what to try next. There is a newer R888R which is supposed to be better. Suggestions?
  19. Yeah, I source from Race Brakes Sydney. Good prices and lots of experience setting up falcons.
  20. Nice one. And this is still your run in tune? All the little issues sorted out?
  21. Clark rubber. $2 for 50cm. No noise, quiter than stock
  22. Best sound comes from a manual....
