  1. Enjoy the car, bet it feels awesome to drive. Exhaust, intercooler etc are easy things to slowly up grade over time if you really want to. 460 versus 500 is just a number, who cares
  2. If you have a multimeter check battery voltage. Shoild be 12.2-12.6V when car off. With the engine on it should measure >14V if the alternator is working. Check the cabling to the alternator.
  3. Yeah, I did not realise that normal battery voltage is not enough. Now Iam wiser will just change battery at first sign of trouble....
  4. Hmm, well it looks like the issue was the battery after all. Basically a can bus error in the aftermarket Kayhan ICC killed the battery. I didnt use the car for about 10 days or so late last year and the battery went flat. Recharged it and it happened a few more times. The can bus issue caused a current draw and I am guessing the voltage went really low - like < 9-10V as the current draw persisted while the car was not being used. Actually the battery was completely dead on a few occasions - no lights or anything. The penny dropped that the battery was cactus (Exide 630cca) last week. Charged overnight - measuring 12.5V, but car wont turn over - just clicking noise. All the lights and dash started dimming when I tried to start the car and got lots of errors/faults that you normally see with low voltage. So battery can measure ok voltage but still not have enough juice to start the engine. Anyway Kayhan fixed the can bus issue earlier this year. Got a new battery and all seems ok over the past week. Still pissed that the ICC killed what was a perfectly good battery. Although I seem to go through batteries every 2 or so years.
  5. Didnt realise you were an electrician. Yeah, been going to town with my multimeter. Will update if I can figure it out.
  6. Thanks! How did you work that one out? Very useful information. I have pulled all the icc and bcm fuses and the current draw remains. I also have an aftermarket ICC which may be the culprit as it has the can bus control as well. Just cant find the culprit circuit. I have heard of faulty diodes in the alternator causing this kind of problem. Battery loses enough charge that I cant start the engine 24 hours after ladt use.
  7. Still cant work out the cause of this parasitic battery drain. Any recommendations for a autoelectrician in the hills district / parramatta area?
  8. Started before. Original version with longer boot up time.
  9. No dashcam. I have removed my usb charger and even tried removing the fuse for it. I thought all battery draw must go through the fuses, so puzzled I couldnt isolate the culprit circuit. I have a Kayhan head unit, and there was a can bus issue related to the door lock, but they fixed that with an update. I have checked the ICC and bcm circuits and no issue there.
  10. Its an fg mk2 xr6t. Yeah, just started happening. Checked all the grounds and they are in good shape. I replaced the main ground wires about 18 months ago as they were deteriorating - turning to dust on the inside of the plastic shielding, but this issue is only happening in the last couple of months
  11. I keep getting a flat battery when not using the car for >24hrs. No lights etc. are on. Disconnected the battery for a few days, then reconnected and all good, so worked out the battery itself is holding charge and is ok - measured Voltage which was stable. Checked battery draw with car locked and off for >20 mins and iam seeing a 0.53A draw. Pulled fuses sequentially in engine bay and next in cabin, but none of the circuits identify the battery draw. Is this a faulty alternator? Where else do I look?
  12. You guys are braver than me. Although I drove pretty hard and made my daughter vomit in a 4wd. Some of the roads were in bad shape, potholes etc. Put crappy wheels on. Wish I could go, but with 3 kids 6-12yo, they dictate where we go these days.
  13. I have done the tassie boat and road trip before with the family. Absolutely spectacular, try and visit cradle mountain as well. One thing though guys, the roads are pretty horrible and in places down right dangerous. You really want a high riding 4wd rather than a highpowered lowered rwd.
  14. From memory around 20 psi. Sorry, the turbois I had wad the 6235 which was designed to fit the stock exhaust housing. Be interesting to see how you go with the bigger turbo, should get mad spool with the 0.82 housing
  15. What turbo are you running there? Did the 3xhaust manifold make much of a difference?
  16. When I had the pte6466 I made 450rwkw on pump98 with id1000s and a single walbro 460. But that was with a ported stock turbo exhaust housing. What 0.82 housing are you going to use?
  17. Screen function is identical between the smaller and larger screens. The larger screen has an inbuilt mic which can be an advantage. Someone on AFF mentioned the upgraded units. Look at the video of the VE units. None of the fg units boot or work that fast regardless of screen size
  18. Hold on, dont do it. Apparently they are upgrading the Ford screens to the same super speedy ones they use in the VE (2 second boot time) in January. Dont buy the current (now obsolete) version.
  19. Nice work, like your individual style. Is the bonnet purely cosmetic? One issue is the under bonnet heat from the turbo, if the vents help with then that's a bonus.
  20. Is that with the brightest setting? Sure you dont have it in night mode? I have the larger screen and brightness if fine and also adjustable. Maybe its linked to your interior light settings?
  21. Just looked at their facebook page. Geez they move a lot of units - looks like well over 700 allready for the FG, and then look how many other vehicles they supply for. I am going to guess at most a couple hundred dollars in parts for each kit, buying in bulk maybe much cheaper. that's a lot of money, more than most workshops and car audio places would be making. Genius level business skills here! The thing is the kit is actually really good and they provide good support.
  22. It uses the factory microphone and also has one built in on the top left of the screen. Works fine. I use the agama interface and android auto. You could just use the phone mirroring app as well. I use waze, spotify and tunein frequently.
  23. Yeah, there is a setup menu in the car settings app. Agama for interface, waze, spotify tunein, Pulse. You can install any app from the play store
