Yeah - gotta love this Sydney Summer weather. I was also at WSID competing with my dragster. We lost the 2nd half of Sat and all of Sunday's racing with no eliminations being run. My T is now in the panel shop getting the hail damage repaired from the last big storm of a few weeks ago. At least driving the wife's car will make me appreciate the T even more when I get it back ....

Picked up the car 30-Oct 04, now has 12,500kms. Has averaged 121km per day since ownership or about 2-hours a day in the drivers seat. What a way to pass the time away

After hearing of the great time had by all last year, I'm in. My holidays have been already been booked. As for the rough ferry ride, after this week my car should be able to handle anything. Interior christened by a car sick 3 year-old on the Maitland Cruise. The exterior now resembles a golf ball thanks to the hail storm that hit Sydney on Weds. 4Runner + Wife

Great cruise Antoinette. That was the first time I'd travelled the Putty road - and I had a blast. But I did discover one thing - Don't let a 3 year old play a Game Boy whilst having fun in the twisties.

For a well setup race car (slicks- suspension work etc) that would run in the mid to high 12's you would expect termianl speeds of approx 105mph (168kph). This equals 46 m/sec. So if both cars have the same terminal speed, the diffence in ET of 0.2sec would equal 9.3m which is roughly 2 sedan car lengths. If you apply the same maths to a top fuel car doing 500kph (310 + mph) then a 0.2 second difference would be equal to a 27.6m gap between the cars. This is roughly 3.5 car lengths (of a 300" Top Fueller). As stated above the mph of both cars can vary for similar ET's and don't forget that reaction times of both cars will affect the gap between cars at the finish line.

Guys, hows the reflash performing after a few Ks for the ECU to 'learn' new things? Mine's due for it Friday, have had one situation where I think?? I had a overboost cutout. Changed to higher gear and off again. I am not sure, as you can also get to redline/cutout before you realise it too Alan I've done 10,000 km with my MKII 6-speed. I haven't experienced any probs yet (touch wood). I am a bit hesitant to fix something that ain't broke. It doesn't appear to be down on power - it ran 98mph at WSID the other day and Geea and others can vouch for the power sapping conditions.

$300 with a 0.01 RT 3rd place was $100 and if the 0.000 was earlier it would have scooped a jackpot

It was good to meet you guys. Great photos Phil - How far back in the stands were you? Now that's better then the cricket - isn't it My mate with the black 5-speed XR6T won the $200 for second place in the reaction times with a .023 RT. He ran a best of 14.6 whilst my best (stock 6-speed) was 14.7 @ 98mph with some very wussy 60ft times. I was paranoid about a slipping clutch so I bogged it down on every run. I'm up for another go - but it will have to be in Winter...

I'll try to be there by 4:30. If not, I'll catch you guys inside. Everyone seen the forcast for today??? 38 deg - bugger

I'm happy to be @ Woolies in Mt Annan @ 7:30am ... for those who don't know where that is, just PM me or I can post directions. The area is well suited as a meeting place, e.g., Shell (with Optimax), Fast Food outlets, e.g., Maccas, KFC, etc., etc., lots of parking space. So let me know who's planning to be there and we'll make sure we don't leave without you. Thanks Ken, I'll be there @ 7:30 with just enough time for SWMBO and Mrs 4Runner to catch up again.

Jeff, I'm in the Campbelltown area. I'll talk to you @ WSID next weds

For the numbers, FourRunner = 4 including 2 billy lids who if they don't behave have been warned that the goal visit will come with a one ticket.. Is anyone on the southside of Sydney interested in meeting up before the trip to Berowra?
-
Count me in - Sat or Sun is OK. What are you programing for the weather this time? Or do we not ask....
-
I may also have a mate come along. He has a stock 5 speed manual XR6T that ran 13.9 early last year at WSID. Gives me a comparison between stock 5 and 6 speeds.

I'll try to get out there on the 12th. I'd like to give the T a run (Stock MKII 6-speed). Is any one hanging around for the Top Fuel/Top Alcohol meeting on the 14/15th ? If so, drop in and say g'day. I'll be running my 4cyl N/A dragster in the modified bracket.

Had a great day yesterday - thanks for organising Antoinette. It was good to meet some of the guys and gals on the forum. I was very impressed with the Typhoon - good one Chris. Can't wait for the next cruise.

If you wire up the aux input, you can plug your Ipod into this. There are threads on here showing you how to do it yourself (mine cost about $10 in parts and about 45 mins) or you can get a Ford dealer to do for more$$ Not sure about "prestige sound" and mine has the "premium sound" option I found the instructions that I used - thanks to the author - Aaron link

I connected up the aux input (thanks to info on this forum and about $10 in parts) and can now play mp3s thru my portable DVD.
-
Yes I've tried and no it doesn't play MP3's

I just received an email from Ford announcing the "Falcon MKII has arrived". This is not bad communications LOL considering I took delivery of mine over 2 weeks ago.

Good result for Ambrose It was very interesting watching Kelly right on Ambrose's bumper when they were on the pit lane speed limiters. Like a slow motion version of the Gold Coast race ! The rain certainly livened up the end of the race - instead of scheduled pit stops, I'd like to see random showers brought into the races.

Hi guys, As a new member to the T family I would like to attend and meet some of you folks. If its not too late could I please book for the BBQ x 3. I will PM Antoinette for the payment details. I will meet you there as I only live about 10mins away and will probably get Scruffman to call in on his way past.

First Week With A Mkii 6-speed T

More than likely you hit the rev limiter, when the motor "cut out" it's very easy to do that AFAIK, the rev limiter in the XR6 Turbos is variable, dependent on stress on the motor etc. I'm glad you like the car. I've had mine for about 14 months now, with just over 35,000km clocked and I still enjoy the drive Suprisingly the car feels/handles just like it did when I bought it. Might have been but it didn't feel like a rev limiter. (a different sensation to hitting the limiter on my race car). It nosed over completely and appeared to shut down momentarily. Only one hiccup in 3000km - not too bad. -
First Week With A Mkii 6-speed T

The fuel economy has varied from 17+ litre/100km around down and fang mode  It did average (according to the trip computer) at 10.6 on the trip back from QLD (freeway conditions with 90% cruise control). I did notice some surging in top gear when on the cruise control going down a slight decline. On my previous car (a EB Fairmont auto) this was not noticeable. -
