  1. Hey Stuey, There's a pic in the gallery of someones black T with a bulge that has the letters "TURBO" on it pic
  2. Hey Ken - just letting you know that Oct 9 = Bathurst and Oct 16 = Moto GP (Phillip Island).
  3. Looks like a fun cruise and the Leprechaun & I would of loved to catch up with the Tassie Cruisers. Unfortunately I will be playing at WSID in the other toy
  4. Cameron, Just a thought - Do you have metal tint on the back window? If so this may be affecting the signal.
  5. Hey Ken - I am keen to give these short wheelbase things another go. Count me in Watch out that I don't do an engine swap with one from my other toy
  6. I cut off the two 3.5mm plugs and joined the two sheilds together and the two cores together and terminated these in a normal rf antenna plug for the back of the STB. In a good signal area - no problems. The antenna is a boosted diversity one off Ebay.
  7. Mine had 63 kms on it when I picked it up. As it was the first MKII-6 speed delivered to that dealer, I'm guessing that the boys in the workshop gave it a thorough quality check Now its 10.5 months old and has over 35,000kms
  8. Give me fuel, Give me fire, Give me that which I desire Metallica
  9. I was there and saw both of these runs - Absolutely awesome!!! The Cowin car appeared to torch a head/gasket from about 1000ft and should run even quicker this weekend at the East Coast Nationals. It was a great drive by Darren Morgan in the Lamattina car - he got out of the throttle before it went into a "blowover" and still managed to stab it again to soften the landing. That car earlier ran a 4.7 at only 252 mph ! If any forum members are going out for a look, call in and say g'day. We will be competing in the Modified bracket - just look for the bright green motorcycle engined dragster in my avatar.
  10. Hey, you started it ... This is almost as good as being back in Tassie. Keep going fellas this is hilarious
  11. Touch wood - havn't received anything yet. Voy - maybe we should of left the number plates the way they were after Port Arthur.
  12. He will not only be hoping for 6 second quarters - but to be the first into the 5 second zone. His previous doorslammer (the Jack Daniels Studebaker) has run as quick as 6.0 seconds at 230+ mph. Its good to see the Blue Oval stepping up to the plate to take on Expensive Daewoo with Maurice Fabietti and Ben Bray's yet to be raced Monaro doorslammers.
  13. In order from the first one 20 years ago. Honda XL250 Honda XR200 (unreg) Suzuki RM125 (unreg) Yamaha XT600 Honda XR250 (unreg) Suzuki GSX1100 '83 model Kawasaki GTR1000 The GSX1100 was sold and later bought back. Now the only one I still own 180,000 + kms. I have another two GSX1100 engines that I run in the dragster. 200 hp and good enough for high 9's over the quarter. The're a dinosaur comapared to todays rockets but the basis for a lot of quick drag bikes. Since I've had the T, the bike doesn't get much use - but might see a trip to the MotoGP this year.
  14. Well what a trip ! 5700 kms - 693 litres of fuel. Awesome Tassie roads - 6 great cars - incredible scenery. But the best part was the great mateship from all you guys that we travelled with. Stuey, Catherine and family You might be a Gorilla in the mist to others, but we will never look at a "slippery when wet" sign the same again. It was a pleasure to have Catherine and the kids with us for the weeekend. It gave us kiddy sick parents a much needed fix. PS. Thanks for converting me to Boags! Jeff Thanks for being our tour guide with the mostest. After giving JB the flick you didn't get us lost once. You know Leah was your biggest fan when you said " I aint lettin no crappy Expensive Daewoo ute get by me ". Cain Your youthful enthusiam was a welcome addition to the ROFS (Really old farts) that were on tour. Your crack about the "limp mode" was priceless. Ken I will never look at an episode of the Simpsons in the same light again. You are so quick witted on the CB that you had us laughing around most of Tassie. A cruise without "Boyley" would not be the same. Lea A lot of Ken has rubbed off on you (I spose 30 years marriage would do that). Your calls on the radio were perfect - even with the expletives involved. When you find out how to remove the "Boyle on my front and the Fraggle on my arse", let me know. Hung You were the quite acheiver on the trip. You have planted ideas in Leah's head on shopping, massages and winning money. Hang on - maybe that's not a good thing JB Thanks for organising a sensational holiday - the homework you did was greatly appreciated. With the exception of "Faulty Towers" the accomodation was great. Leah also appreciated the medicinal qualities of DR JB. Next time we share a kart, I'm sure we can tweak it for a bit more grunt. I can just imagine the trip home on the boat "Hey Boyley - wanna see me clear the poop deck" And finally to my wife Leah who surprised me to the point of berating me for not cutting a corner. Although she missed the kids terribly and hated the boat crossings, I'm sure she will remember her time in Tassie favourably. No doubt made all the better from the company of you all Peter & Leah (AKA Brownie and the Leprechaun)
  15. I watched the SBS telecast and was impressed with the performance of the T's. They showed the Blue car of Ryan winning the races from a reverse grid start but later said that he was disqualified because of an illegal turbo. What mods if any are you allowed to do ?
  16. Once again a great cruise, fun roads, great company and fine country hospitality (thanks CountryPhoon). The highlight for me was Ken and Goldie getting in trouble off the tour guide. They sure know how to pick the trouble-makers It was nice to meet some new members. Vicky keep working on the left foot kicks. PS the soccer ball did survive. A few pics have been added to the gallery Jenolan Caves Gallery
  17. Time permitting, the detour to CountryPhoon's farm sounds good.
  18. JB let us know if it's going to be on and I can throw in the ANDRA license and the "special" plates. C'mon Ken , we know you want to give Preciousssss a squirt. Just remember that the shortest distance between two points is not neccesarily a straight line
  19. It all sounds good. According to the itinery, we have a layday on the Sat 13 Aug in Hobart. How far from Hobart is Tarmak? I'm up for a squirt on the strip. (Pity I can't fit the other car in the luggage) What do ya reckon JB?
  20. Great cruise - well done Ken and helpers. I've added some pics to the gallery setup by Cro. When we got home, I asked the boys what was the best part. One said the cows and the other said the "Roller Coaster" part. At the time of negotiating the Roller Coaster his quote was "Ohh I've got a tingly feeling in my willie "
  21. Wow - 3 cruises in July. Sorry I'll have to miss this one as we have a race meeting at WSID. Have fun
  22. We travelled up the Pacific Hwy this month for the Winternationals. From Campbelltown to Willowbank (a couple of hours past the Gold Coast) took us only 12.5 hours in a MR truck. A lot of the old sections have been bypassed lately (Buladelah, Karuah, and between Ballina and QLD border). We used to use the New England Hwy but now the Pacific is a better run.
  23. For an antenna I used a boosted diversity antenna that adheres to the back window. I placed it up in the corner where you don't notice it. It works fine whilst stationary (in a good signal area) but like all the others is prone to drop-outs whilst moving. On ebay for about $40-50. Diversity antenna
  24. Don't despair too much about the dragstrip. If the politicians can actually keep an election promise - oh what am I saying. Here's a media release that might show a light at the end of the tunnel. The CEO of the Royal National Capital Agricultural Society, Geoff Cannock, will chair a committee appointed to advise the Government on the construction of a dragway in the Majura Valley, Chief Minister Jon Stanhope announced today. "In accordance with its pre-election commitment, the ACT Government has established a Dragway Advisory Committee, comprising community representatives, individuals with an interest in dragway and motor sports and government officials. The committee will advise the Government on the establishment of a dragway in the Majura Valley," Mr Stanhope said. "The Government remains committed to a dragway and has shown that commitment by allocating $8 million in capital funding for the project. "The construction of a dragway is a significant undertaking. The Dragway Advisory Committee will help work through issues including the appropriateness of a site in the Majura Valley, and help ensure that all factors, including noise and other environmental considerations, are properly considered. "I thank the members of the Dragway Advisory Committee for agreeing to participate in this important process." I have very fond memories of the old track (2 track championships) It was one of the smoothest strips run by a great bunch of officials.
  25. Woo Hoo another local cruise. Count me in + family.
