  1. If you're looking for a cheap DVD option, check this thread Skymaster DVD/DVB The units can be purchased for around $100 on ebay. Add $50 for a inverter, $50 for a diversity antenna and a few $ for cabling etc and you have a DVD/STB for around $200.
  2. What a great weekend. Leah and I had a great time. Thanks Phil for all your hard work in organising it. My jaw was starting to ache from laughing so much at the dinner table. I've sworn off Devondale butter for life now. Pity I didn't do more than one lap of the mountain - the photos that Brad took are awesome. Thanks to everyone for making it a memorable weekend.
  3. I'll be there with a few mates from work. Not sure if I will be running the T or the new toy. CBR1100XX Super Blackbird
  4. A few Bourbons should do the trick Phil
  5. Unit and inverter mounted on the back of the rear seat in the boot. Screen whilst DVD loading. One of the STB menu screens + remote control.
  6. I already had a Teac STB with a diversity antenna and the associated Scart connector, cabling etc that is explained in Cutsnake's "Ford ICC Dig TV Proof of Concept" thread. Total cost would have been about $200. Skymaster unit $100, Inverter $49, Diversity antenna, Scart connector, Cabling, components for the auto-switching cct etc approx $50.
  7. I have just finished installing a new DVD/STB unit into my car. I picked up the unit from Ebay Skymaster STB200DVD The unit is menu configurable for NTSC and RGB output. To complete the install, I utilsed ideas from the Teac STB install. The IR signal from the ICC was patched into the Skymaster cct board and a auto switching cct was used. The unit and a 150W inverter have been Velcro mounted to the back of the rear seat and sit nearly vertical in the boot. I will have pictures at a later date.
  8. Aidan, I'm not an expert in quarter mile times with a T (I've only run mine at one meet), but have had hundreds of passes in a high 9/low 10 sec dragster. My advice would be to only do a big enough burnout to dry the water off the tyres and clean them up. The difference in traction between a drag strip start line and the street is immense. I would suggest that if you are running the standard clutch then that could possibly be the weak point (slippage). As for tyre pressure, I have no idea. I ran mine with the standard 40psi I drive on the street with. With slicks, it would be a different story altogether. Good luck and have fun.
  9. A big Happy B. to Ken - from Peter, Leah and the boys.
  10. When I had my "peace of mind" 1500 Km service, mine came back with the coolant sprayed everywhere in the engine bay. I didn't notice it until it had dried (white). Green coolant on Envi paint isn't that obvious. I believe that the service technician LOL unscrewed the reserviour cap when the engine was still too hot
  11. Good shots Phil Must be time for the next cruise - did someone mention an overnighter ?
  12. VPW mailorder (in Melbourne) have the Sonoco GT plus unleaded on special for $119.48 + postage .VPW I use the Sonoco Supreme (leaded) in the race car and have found it better than the equivalent VP-C14 in this case. At $170 per 20 litre drum it would want to be good.
  13. Any idea if this will be an 1/8 mile or a 1/4 track? It would be good to see an A grade track (like WSID, Willowbank, Kwinana) built in VIC. The sooner we can get away from Bob Jane owned tracks the better for the sport.
  14. Will it only be for looks? or will you have it as a feed for a cold air box? I was always impressed with the idea of a shaker feeding the air into the turbo.
  15. Looks awesome Chris - congratulations
  16. I didn't vote. Only because it doesn't worry me which way we go. You could probably say that I'm easy but after reading the title "Your preferred passage " that wouldn't be such a good idea.
  17. C'mon Ken, After the last one you know I'm a definite. Some one's gotta keep an eye on Stuey
  18. Ken did you get my PM (with all the relevant details)? PS. If you are doing the final run this weekend, stop in for a cold one
  19. If you get a chance, check out the Hastings Caves down the Huon Valley. Just ask for Ken's tour guide - I'm sure she can show you some interesting places.
  20. I had a "must get a shot of that" experience a couple of years ago with a sunset. Bizarre colours and patterns in the clouds
  21. Save the trip until November and come over with us on the Tassie MKIII cruise. If its half as much fun as last years trip, you will have a ball. We had a couple of locals from the forum who joined us and showed us some great roads. Hopefully DUCATIJB will be posting the details shortly - C'mon JB

From the VPW website - who are an Australian retailer for Sonoco fuels. "Sunoco's highest octane racing fuel was developed specifically for competition engines using nitrous oxide injection systems. Supreme NOS is formulated to achieve a significantly higher specific gravity than other high octane fuels, allowing for maximum fuel flow when used with high volume nitrous oxide systems. The dense nature of this fuel helps guard against lean conditions that can lead to catastrophic engine damage. Due to the high tetraethyl lead (TEL) content, it should not be used in applications utilizing oxygen sensors. Motor Octane 117, Color Light Red, Leaded YES." The price for a 20 litre drum is $192.55. Unless you had an all out race engine, this fuel would be unwarranted and as stated above contains lead and would be illegal to use anywhere else but at a sanctioned track that has this fuel homologated. As an aside, I use the Sonoco Supreme Leaded (112 RON) in my dragster with could results. Unfortunately there is no pump fuel available that will handle my engines static compression ratio of 16.3:1
