  1. I used to have a XE ESP until the family came along and we needed a wagon - shame to get rid of it
  2. Hopefully we won't get any of that R... stuff whilst the Summer Nationals are on. If it does R... then Sunday may be used. If we finish racing on the Sat then me and the young bloke are on for the cruise If any one else from the forum is going to the drags, drop into the pits and say g'day. Were in the Modified pit area with a blue & white '68 Bedford Transporter and the dragster on the left.
  3. Thanks Phil for organising yet another top Cruise We had a great day even if we did jump in a bit late. All he needed was the coconut then it would have been the worlds fastest lamington
  4. We would like to join you guys. Were going to be at Gosford on Sat night so where would be the best place to wait for you on the old Highway?
  5. The final on youtube Well done to Terry Sainty and the crew for getting the Australian built car into the finals.More videos on youtube from the same user.
  6. For those that missed it, there were 4 passes made in the 4.5 secs zone, with a best of 4.51 secs by Scott Kalitta in the Santo Rapisarda car. He also set the Australian National Speed record at 332.84 mph (that's over 535 kph ) Phil read ran the first 4.5 earlier in qualifying. It would have to be one of the best race meets that I have been to although the spectator entry was a bit pricey at $50 a head for each day. - Made it worthwhile being an entrant though. I picked up over 2 tenths for the current engine combo (10.15 secs @ 129.8 mph) with a best 60 ft for the car of 1.37. Lost in the 1st round though
  7. Well done Dan "so may blue cars" Yeah they tend to stick together in bunches. Your kids obviously had a good time too.
  8. What's their weapons of choice? Bloody Tarago's I'll bet
  9. All of the "FourRunner" crew had a great day - even the youngest one who slept all the way from Oberon to Jenolan Caves to Oberon again and back to the Great Western Highway. Even the cursing at the Tarago driver didn't wake him. Cheers to DBOSS for the lap round the mountain. It was definitely the highlight for Nathan and me too. The sound of Brian's car is something else and to see it walk away from a stocker that was pegged is very impressive. Thanks to Cro and the other organisers for a job well done. The double bike accident was a very sobering finish to the day - just hope the riders are OK.
  10. Had mine repaired at Schafer's last year after it was hail damaged. Can vouch for the paintless dent removal side of their business - bloody magicians.
  11. I've had a late change of work roster So I'm in + wife and kids. See ya there
  12. VP C16 fuel costs about $150 for a 20 litre drum. It is a leaded based fuel - making it illegal to use on the streets. Distributors can be found here VP Fuels
  13. I would really love to join in on this cruise - but unfortunately its between night shifts and I won't be able to make it Hope you all have a great time.
  14. Yes Ross, it has both of these roads. It uses the whereis maps and is loaded with build 3.20.0035. I found it very good with redirecting after a missed turn. However it did sometimes take a while to find the satelites - about 30 secs.
  15. I recently bought a Navman ICN 330 from Strathfield car radio (on special now for $399). It is a very basic unit but was more than ample to navigate us on our recent holiday down the NSW/VIC coast and onto and around Adelaide. I had a couple of arguments with it , but there would have been a lot more with the missus if I didn't have the Navman See if you can get a demo from a dealer, but this model is very easy to use.
  16. I simply chopped off the 3.5mm plug and soldered the cable to a standard TV coax plug. BTW Cain, have you found any of the Skymaster DVD/STB units on Ebay?
  17. Yes that's right, the mesh is smaller than the upper grill. I bought a lower grill from the meshman - good instructions and easy to install
  18. Bugger Cro, I was getting organised for the south coast cruise. Time off work - check Baby sitting for the spewy child - check Accomodation at the outlaws in Goulburn for the night before - check Not enough interest shown by others - Will have to check the roster for November now.
  19. For those that missed it, there was some awesome racing over the two days. Top Fuel saw the quickest and fastest pass in Aust in the final. 4.61 @ 324 mph. (that's 522 kph). As mentioned above Zap running 6.0 all weekend along with 20 Doorslammers trying to qualify. Grant O'Rourke riding out a spectacular fire - very scary. Jay Upton running 6.2's on his awesome Top Bike. The first 7.0 sec clocking from Pro-Stock Bike. 7.1 sec from Pro Stock car @ 190 mph. Unfortunately "Four Runner" had to sit this one out due to engine damage but should be back for the State of Origin Supercharged meeting on Oct 14

    Relocation

Good to see that you have settled in OK. We missed your witty insights on the last cruise - though Jeff and Jewels carried it on pretty well. JB was lost - all those craft shops and no Boylie to share the experience with :yuck: Say hi to Lea for us - Catcha soon. Brownie, Leprecaun & the boys.
  21. I had that trouble until I earthed the inverter that I was using.
  22. I'm using a powered diversity antenna off ebay. Like this one Diversity Antenna . It's not very good whilst moving either - unless you're in Hobart under the transmitter up on Mount Wellington
  23. The IR signal from the dash can be picked up from the ICC connector. I simply wired this up to a point inside the DVD/STB unit where I had cut the units own IR signal and replaced it with the car's one. Inside the Skymaster, there is a cable coming from the front panel (which has the display, IR and buttons) to the main board. Where this joins the main board, you can see the "IR" signal labelled. If you want I can probably take pictures of the auto switching cct and the IR patching inside the unit.
  24. The reception seems to be about the same as the Teac. ie In a good signal area it will occasionally drop out. When it does drop out it goes blank and displays "no signal". The Teac however would just display the last frame that it had. The Skymaster is a lot quicker at scanning and adding channels to its list though.
  25. Update: I had to mount the unit the other way up. Reason: The DVD disk falls out of the carrier when it is being ejected. The new mounting allows it to be sitting flat when the seat is folded down and the disks play fine when the the seat is upright. Sorry about the quality of the piccy but you should get the idea.
