  1. Count me in as a maybe at this stage.
  2. Yeah Ben ran a couple of 5's A 5.972 and a 5.924 in qualifying. Brett Stevens ran 252.66mph after red lighting in the final. Awesome mph for a doored car.
  3. Yeah Reg, I just wish I had the funds to build one. In a chassis like Paul Martini's CC/MD it would make for some quick Et's.
  4. Glad to see you made it home OK The rest of us visited the mountain, did a couple of laps went to the museum and then had lunch. It was very laid back and relaxed. Good to meet some new faces and catch up with some old ones. Catcha ya all on the next one. Brownie
  5. I'm with Smylie and Scruffman. See ya's in the morning
  6. It would be a shame if it was canned. The family are keen as to go for a cruise - so even if the "official" cruise is off, we will probably go any way. Is anybody still interested if it's not officially on? Brownie.
  7. Hey Wayne, It will be good to catch up. The wife and kids are very keen for this Bathurst cruise. They fight over who rides shotgun. Hope this still goes ahead on Sunday. Any idea of numbers? Even with half a dozen or so it will still be OK.
  8. Yeah Reg, it was serious. It broke the rod on #2 cylinder and ventilated the crankcase. The first time in over 15 years of racing that I have oiled the track. Lucky for the cleanup crew it was after the finish line and off the racing line. I've pulled the motor out of the frame and lifted the head off. Looks like only minor marks on the head. It snapped the rocker on the exhaust side so will have to check the valves. The cases are trashed along with the crank. 1 piston down but that will mean a new set. Hopefully the g.box and clutch are still OK. It was a pretty good meeting otherwise
  9. Put me down for the 18th, wangled it so we can go.
  10. I'll be running the dragster in modified. It's been a long while since the last race and I'm looking forward to some cool conditions. Should be a top meeting and if anyone comes looking for us, we will be pitted down in the grass pit area. Come by and introduce yourselves - look for the green dragster shown left or an old blue and white TK Bedford transporter.
  11. It's been a while since we've been on a cruise and the Bathurst run is always fun. Count us in for the 11th.
  12. We survived the hail storm that hit the track on Sunday arvo. Luckily we didn't have the Turbo at the track and the dragster was under the cover of the transporter awning. We also managed to snag runner/up in the Modified bracket
  13. I'll have to give it a miss fellas. Been sh*t weather all day, so I had a few sherbets with lunch. Came home and that turned into a few more Anyhow, have fun.
  14. If it ever stops bloody raining, you can count me in too. It's been a while since I've had the T out of the shed.
  15. Count us in on this one. Might only be 2 of us this time.
  16. Thanks Phil for organising another great cruise. To those that missed (were SOFT) the back way from Bathurst to Lithgow, it's definitely more interesting than the Highway. If the Rexies had come our way, it would have been very interesting. DBOSS - no worries about the child minding, but I think you owe my Nathan another lap around the mountain. No bugger him - take me instead.....
  17. Sorry about the late notice, but we're in for this one. See ya in a couple of hours
  18. Yeah, that was my initial thought too - that the leads may be crossfiring. I have recently added a new set of spiral wound plug leads (supposedly for LPG vehicles) that made no difference. The motor is running a regraphed HEI dissy. My next step would be to get a LPG guru who can check the mixer to make sure it is not running too lean. Thanks for your input
  19. As the topic states, can anyone recommend a mechanic that is good with LPG systems. The BB Chev in the race-car transporter is having problems with occasional back-fires through the mixer/air cleaner when you get off the throttle then back on it again. Any comments/suggestions welcomed.
  20. That's right Reg - I still stare at the trophy and have to pinch myself. Soccer season will be starting so that's where Leah and the boys will be. I feel a bit slack as I've been "volunteered" to manage the young fella's under 6 side. But having a fang in the T is much more important
  21. Count me in - I'll probably be flying solo for this one. Pissed off that I missed the last one.
  22. 145" wheelbase mild steel mini dragster with a 1270cc Suzuki GSX engine. This engine is 12.5:1 CR with 40mm flatslide Mikuni carbs, MSD ignition, lockup clutch, air shifter etc. All home built and definitely run to a budget. I would love to find a major sponsor and build a new dragster with a XR6T engine of course. I believe low eights high, sevens would be a possibility.
  23. The car ran 10.04, 9.999, 10.02 in qualifying then in eliminations it ran 10.11 on a back off, 10.09, 10.04 (a double break out with a 0.000 light!), 10.07 and in the final ran a 10.08 on a 10.05 dial in with a 0.004 light (the win margin was 2 thou) It was probably the most consistent the car has been in ages and the steering attendant did the job too !
  24. Thanks for the kind words fellas. No I didn't make the cruise today (didn't get to bed until 3:00am - I was still hyped up and it took a few bourbons to get over it ) To finally win a Gold Xmas Tree was awesome and certainly worth the hours spent working on the car. Now if I can only repeat that performance again.....
  25. I used to have a XE ESP until the family came along and we needed a wagon - shame to get rid of it
