  1. so took my new XR6 turbo in to get tuned (600kms on the clock), made 308rwkw @ 14psi with some of my old parts on it (4in exhaust, 72lb injectors, surge tank and modded gt35r). stock intercooler had a heart attack and could not keep temps in check so tuned it back to 280rwkw. need to get a beefcake intercooler and then I should be able to fit up my turbo side intake as well. hopefully will be back at 400kw before the year is out.
  2. sweet cause I have been flogging the f*ck out of it haha. racked up 140klicks in it already and only picked it up yesterday. gets worked on monday as well what do you mean by mineral oil?

I had air noise in my last FG, always sounded like the drivers side window wasn't quite closed properly or the door not sealing (noise came from around where the drivers side mirror is). only really noticed it at 80+km/hr but annoyed the hell out of me. the car had only done 50k kms... not sure if this is what you're experiencing?
  5. Hey guys, my car got financially written off recently and I have bought a new one to replace it, though I also bought the old one back to strip the after market mods for the new one. If anyone is looking for a FG leather interior (near perfect condition), engine (56,000kms), 6-speed manual with clutch (good for 360rwkw) or any parts from a FG XR6T let me know. I also have 4 brand new stock ford 18in rims with brand new tyres, brand new FG XR6t turbo, stock exhaust, injectors, intake, front brakes. just pm me if you're interested otherwise I will flog the damaged car off at the auctions.   6. I'm thinking I will end up going the GS, no gay stripes on the one I found and white, full leather and premium (or not so premium) sound. easy insurance as well with no mods other than a tune. does look like an XR8 though...
  7. Hey guys, unfortunately my FG XR6 turbo got written off a few weeks back and now I'm looking for something new. The two options I have in mind are a 2010 315GS supercharged 8 and then tuning it or going with a 2008 FG F6 and doing a full Nizpro stage 3 kit on it. both will cost me about the same amount overall and they should yield fairly similar power (within 40rwkw). the only real differences between the vehicles are that the F6 has brembo brakes whereas the GS has stock brakes and that the F6 has 66,000km and the GS has only 10,000km. Does anyone have any experience with the Supercharged 8's and how they compare with a worked 6 e.g. response, handling, engine/driveline strength etc? any info would be great. Cheers, Jarrad
  8. mate pedders make a urethane bush that fits inside your standard ford bushes. I've had them fitted to my car and it runs quiet/smooth as, however I do get very minor diff tramp in first gear if there is a lot of extra weight in the car.

    it was just one of those unlucky accidents, they paid for it all to be fixed and gave me a courtesy car so it could have been a lot worse. the car goes hard as f*ck now with it hitting 16psi at 3600rpm so im happy with their work even if I did have to wait a bit for it.

    yeah still tuned at brett west, one of their cables monitoring the engine came loose on the last run on the dyno on Thursday. The cable got tangled in the drive belt and shredded it, took my water pump and thermostat with it. so they had to rip my front end off and fix it all. just hoping that nothing else is broken internally... time will tell.

    Finally got my car re-tuned after putting the turbo side intake and surge tank on. The turbo maxed out at 422.7kw at 17psi on 98. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ia9FLf4wd6k
  14. mate urethane diff bushes fixed most of my troubles with the axle tramp, still does it a bit in third if the car is full... anyway if your car is still under warranty you should be able to get them replaced for free.

I know yours is a BA but just as a guide I was quoted 270 bucks for the 3 urethane bushes (from pedders) required for an FG, these bushes fit inside the standard ford bushes so you'll need to buy those as well. its a big job to fit them as they have to drop a lot of the arse end out so expect it to be at least 500 in labour. I had the upgraded (still standard) ford bushes put in last time and they lasted less than 5000kms before splitting. all my rear control arms were screwed as well. You have more power so expect similar or worse damage. mine get replaced under warranty on Monday so I'll let u know how noisy and rough the urethane ones are then... not that you'll have much choice in which ones you buy unless you want to replace them every service

    Cheers Mark, yeah I do need to run it down the strip but that tailshaft is going in first. So if there is a drag night coming up late June onwards I should be all set. Though the times aren't going to be anything flash being that its a manual. If it pulls a 13 though I'm setting fire to it!

    So picked up my car today with the turbo side intake, surge tank (fitted under stock plenum), and new spark plugs fitted. Unfortunately they had issues with there tuning software and so couldn't adjust boost or fuel/air mixtures. Was running fairly rich and so pulled less power at only 405kw. The car is booked in for when I get back from work at the end of June for a nizpro tailshaft and re-tune. The car is significantly more responsive down low but is lacking in the top end when it starts running rich.

    just an update - car is booked in friday week for turbo side intake, batt relocation, surge tank, spark plugs and retune. interested to see how much the SS inductions CAI was holding it back

  24. Ford boy that better not be a photo of you in your missus underwear! if so that is fu*ked up lol. anyway +1 for cruising... getting bored and need an excuse to clean out the injectors with some foot flat action
