  1. I gained 11rwkws (407-418rwkw) at the same boost going from an ss inductions CAI to a 4in process west turbo side intake.
  2. Hey all, just wondering if anyone knows if the SCT updating program on herrods website can be used to update our flash tuners correctly? Here's a link to the auto updater - http://www.herrodmotorsport.com.au/SCTPerformanceTuning/SCTSoftware/SCTDeviceUpdaterSoftware/tabid/253/Default.aspx
  3. any ideas what adjustable camber arms are worth? do I need any other parts? cheers

  5. Hey guys, had a bit of a read through and couldn't really find a definitive answer. current situation is that I keep wrecking my rear 20in x 275 tyres. don't get me wrong I love doing power skids in the car but its only the inside inch that is getting killed and the rest of the tyre is near perfect. I've had it wheel aligned at a few different joints but every time it comes back as being perfect. got 5000kms out of the last set on my old car and 3000kms out of the set on my new one. Is this happening because of the independent rear suspension setup? I read on here that maybe nolathane rear bushes might fix the problem by stiffening the rear? does anyone else experience this problem? would having a few degrees positive camber possibly negate some of the wearing effects? any ideas would be handy as I'm now on my 3rd set of 275s this year and I haven't even clocked up 10,000kms of driving...
  6. Cheers Jet, I'll get in contact with him then.
  7. Hey guys, my bro is after a standard BF XR6T or F6 exhaust. If anyone has one they want to get rid of then pm me with a price and location. Cheers
  8. solid power! must be hectic on the road under WOT. does it have 21psi in the mid?

good to know FG50T, I was extremely dissatisfied with it to begin with but it has gotten progressively better as I continued to drive it, I'll be stoked if this trend continues for a bit longer. Bigkeels the overboost valve is all good, I havent heard it release as of yet. originally I thought it was releasing but it was just the sound of the air getting pumped back through the turbo and out the filter. haven't done valve springs either. seem to be all good but I'd say they will go soft eventually.

yeah quite happy with it now Mark. something definitely freed up inside it and it goes significantly better now then when it was first tuned, im hoping that as I put more kilometers on it that it will continue to get better, have only accumulated 2100km on it so far. stock FG turbo is only good for 320-330, the gt35 turbo is what is found on the F6 and the older BA and BF engines and is good for 400+kw. Mine has had the wastegate ported and a bigger actuator

so I just got back from work and had a suss at the overboost valve, it appears that all the excess air is actually being pumped back through the turbo... not sure if this is good, bad or otherwise? anyway whilst away I got a nizpro flex plate kit fitted, got it lowered on king spring lows, earls oil feed line fitted and metal idle pulley. Also got some new number plates, not very original but got NOT270. goes in next wk to get the tune adjusted as its occasionally doing some weird sh*t where it'll hit a certain rpm and then just stop accelerating no matter what I do. fingers crossed they can draw another 10kws from it while its in there. starting to get used to the auto as well, its fantastic for doing mad foot on brake burnouts!
  12. looks good, should pull some decent figures with that GTX bolted in. I'd be looking at throwing in a surge tank with the kinda power you're gonna make though. regardless should be lots of fun
  13. that's wierd then, on my mk2 it only filled up the bottom black opening on the front bar, was about 25cm in height, 40cm in width and 6cm depth. rough estimates.
  14. ah my bad. did they change the size of the intercooler as well in the 2010 mk1s? as the mk2 I bought had a tiny intercooler in comparison to my 2008 mk1 FG
  15. hold up, is a driving instructor gonna be in your car for the lessons? if so mount cameras all through the car cause I wanna see this kent sh*t himself when you hit full boooooost!
  16. biggest difference performance wise between mk1 and mk2 is that the mk2 has a smaller intercooler with plastic end tanks.
  17. didnt realise the plenums were so expensive! I'm not sure if the gains will be that great from an upgraded plenum, would need to ask someone who has changed one (could be 20rwkws). I still think you will make good power with your mods, however that intank pump has to go, walbro, bosch or even an FG pump will be a good replacement. there are still other options for more power such as a 0.7 cover for your current turbo ($800-$1000) and a tune on e85. but if you can get full boost around 3000-3500rpm and can hold it to 6000+rpm then it wont matter if you make 350 or 400rwkw as you are going to have a mad time in the car. but I'd be having a good chat with simon, he should be able to give you a ball park figure of what kinda of power to expect and a list of mods that he would recommend in order to increase that figure.
  18. Personally I would get the car tuned with your current turbo first, if simon tunes it with good boost in the mid I suspect you will have a very hard time trying to keep this thing on the road (great fun). however if you're still not happy after the tune I would be looking at getting rid of that BA intake plenum and consider running E85. see how the valve springs go as well (I haven't ever had a problem with them in my FG but clearly others have)... I can't see any reason why you won't be flirting with 400kws. do you run a standard intank pump? if so then that needs to be upgraded asap
  19. 500rwhp on an FG engine with a GT35r is a walk in the park. you have some good supporting mods and that manual will give you about 10% more power to the wheels than most will get from their autos. +1 for porting the turbo
  20. that's disrespectful to a manual lol. I find mine is a little delayed on the changes under WOT, it also makes maximum power at just over 6000rpm and limiter is 6500 so if it's spinning tyres the revs are moving pretty damn quick. maybe I just need to get used to it. driven a manual for 9+ years of my life and driven an auto for 4 weeks so far.
  21. I think that is what I have ordered from Nizpro, why will that cause the oil pump to screw up Jet? or do you mean from limiter bashing?
  22. Well how the hell do I utilise the power in the P.O.S. auto if all it's gonna do is smash the limiter?
  23. damage should be about $500 at most. gotta keep it off the limiter to stop it happening again... which is damn difficult when it just wants to lift up and spin first, second and so on. as much as I hate to say it I might have to let the auto shift itself through the first couple of gears :(
  24. Good to see a 5-speed in the 300's! Congrats
