I will make some calls monday morning and see where I stand with it all. Might have to get some FPV 19in wheels so that they clear my brembos. Cheers for the advice fellas. Will PM you @arronm before I move across

Hey guys, I'm planning to move to Perth in September and am wanting to bring my car across with me. I've read that the rules have changed and that every car must be inspected prior to obtaining WA registration. unfortunately my car isn't stock so I would like to get it all legal prior to taking it for an inspection. Though I am unsure as to what is allowed and what is not in WA. Here is a list of the current mods: Process West 4in turbo side intake with K+N filter Plazmaman battery relocation kit Jonny Tig 1800hp intercooler with polished 3in hot + cold side piping GTX3582 turbo with 12lb turbosmart actuator Ported rear turbo housing with larger flapper to compensate Nizpro full 4in stainless steel exhaust Nizpro overboost valve Plazmaman oil cap Earls braided oil line for turbo ID1000 injectors Process West twin 044 surge tank Walbro 255 intank pump FPR1200 regulator E85 rated fuel lines Brembo 6pot calipers and 355mm rotors Hardy Spicer built tailshaft Nizpro ZF flexplate PWR ZF heat exchanger with braided oil line King Springs SL rear and Lows upfront Super Pro upgraded diff bushes K-mac rear camber kit Vertini Drift wheels 20 x 10, 20 x 8.5 I'm fairly sure the fuel system is going to be an issue which I can replace with a KPM intank setup (or similar) and I will re-fit my catalytic converter. Is there anything else in the list that I might be screwed for? And does anyone know of a decent joint to get it inspected at where they might be a bit more lenient? sorry for the long post. any advice is much appreciated

I bought the Super-clocked version but it looks pretty much identical

and then there's this... https://www.newegg.com/global/au/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487375&cm_re=1080ti-_-14-487-375-_-Product

@bloodycrashboy is it too late to cancel that order? As newegg has some really good pricing on graphics cards especially with the current exchange rate
-
I likely wont upgrade anything else until the end of the year unless my OC'd 3570k bottlenecks the 1080ti at 4k

$3.6K! Worth sussing out metabox (http://metabox.com.au/store/b212/Metabox-Prime-P650HP-Laptop) if you haven't already thrown money at this. Similar specs will cost you $2.2K

Guess im ripped then sweet!

So I've got nothing on Rabs awesome setup! However after 2 weeks of waiting, my EVGA GTX 1070 FTW from newegg arrived (http://www.newegg.com/global/au/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487259&cm_re=gtx_1070-_-14-487-259-_-Product if anyone is interested). Was $130 cheaper then pccg so definitely worth the wait. Spent about 20min overclocking it today and managed some pretty standard results on firestrike http://www.3dmark.com/fs/9590902 Unfortunately I don't think I can squeeze much more out of the gpu as voltage control seems to be locked in afterburner for the moment.

This is my gaming rig, not the cleanest but it does the job. Only sees 1080p gaming so its okay for that. Is entirely on air and still OCs well with temps hovering aournd 65C (it does have 7 case fans and 2 cpu fans) running prime 95 http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/12846074 i5 3570k 4.8ghz @ 1.37v GTX970 G1 gaming 16gb 2400mhz ram zip tied air cooler And this is my uni laptop (metabox P650SE), doesn't see much gaming but I still like trying to squeeze every ounce out of it http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/12840774 i7 4720hq @ 3.8ghz GTX970M 16gb 1833mhz ram

Well I wasn't going to spend any more money on the XR (primarily being because I had none to spend) but my bro said he'd lend me the coin to finally put some 10s on the rear. only took one passable snap before the weather coated the rims in sh*t.

cheers man, I'm with ya on the front bar, it blocks a lot of air flow as well. one day I'll get around to putting a mk1 front on it
-
Here ya go Jonno. This is all I've managed recently - car detailed and covered with a ceramic paint protection by eye candy detailing. Unfortunately funds are low due to returning to studies. Maybe tax time will provide some coilovers

I run ebc reds on my 6 pot brembos. a lot better than standard for the street, though I did notice heat spots on my rotors after braking at the end of the drag strip

nah karl, its not being used to control boost, it was set slightly above the peak boost figure made on my previous dyno tune (peaked at 21psi). I've only ever heard it release on 3 occasions, all on cold nights when I was giving it a hiding and 2/3 times it was on a gear change and I thought my input shaft went lol. Since having a new exhaust housing and actuator fitted and then retuned (peak boost 20psi) to match the second 044, reg and larger intercooler I have not heard it pop however the valve was not readjusted. I've also had no issues with the headlifting since that one night albeit I haven't flogged it to quite that extent since. TBH im not that stressed about it as I rarely flog it anymore. I will take it back to Simon and get him to adjust the valve whilst we check the boost figures on the dyno. If it is spiking on the dyno then I guess we'll have to look at why and if it's not spiking but the head is showing signs of lift again then I guess I will just replace the bolts as necessary. Yep love my Jonny Tig cooler, the more I push the car the colder that cold side pipe gets! At the last drags it was damn near frozen. If only you could see its awesomeness behind my stupid mk2 front bar :(

Bizkets I know your pain, I hope Brett can sort out the tune for ya, it is possible that he might be able to get the tune from Simon and then edit it. might save you a bit on the price of a brand new tune. Jet no ones selling me a gate (I dont have any money to buy one anyway lol), but it was mentioned that for proper control of boost it would be best. I will have to speak with Simon and see what his thoughts are on the matter and if we can work out why its overboosting. Simon did tell me my overboost valve was set to release at roughly 22psi and the car is supposed to peak at 20psi. So either the overboost valve isnt working correctly as I havent heard it release on the current tune or its only a minimal overboost but enough to lift the head a bit. Indeed Don, its always a risk and was one I couldn't justify especially with the amount of time and fuel it was going to cost me to get to Melbourne, get a tune and get back. I should have taken mine to get a Womend Bellbat tune when I had the chance!
-
Yep, it is a merry-go-round, but unfortunately it costs a lot of money and all I have to show for it is a stack of useless dyno sheets! I did debate heading to victoria early on but decided that if I got f*cked around over there it would be that much more difficult to get it fixed. Maybe biz needs to give brett a shot? if only it wasnt $900+ for a new tune. Jeez Don you get there a whole hour early! I will see if I cant get there early as well then
-
brett did some really good tunes on my first FG and it felt like a rocket but for some reason when he tuned my new one it just didn't feel powerful and had a few other niggles. I think I will end up taking mine back to simon to sort out as im sick of shelling out money on the car when it should just work. I will probly come out to high rollers cruise but I wont stay for the entire cruise as im not a big fan of the freezing weather, come summer it will be a different story. will try and find ya there if there's not a pre-meet

brand new ported exhaust housing and actuator about 5,000kms old. previous exhaust housing was done by nizpro and I had the same issues. yeah it was ammrr who mentioned this and it also may have been the guy who supplied the new exhaust housing but I would have to ask jon as he sorted it out for me I think its an 8psi actuator, not sure what brand though?? previously used a 12lb actuator and had overboost issues. I think the turbo just likes 22+psi lol. Bretts dyno definitely reads high, not that that matters but I guess I could give him a call and have a chat with him. it appears by the job he's done on your car that he's ironed out a few bugs he was encountering when tuning mine 3 years back.
-
from what I have been told boost control is pretty much 'out the window' when still using the standard sized rear housing (obviously its been ported etc) but running a full 4in exhaust and well flowing intake/intercooler. I was told that decreasing the size of the exhaust, using an external gate or upgrading to a larger turbo should stop it overboosting. it appears to only do it in cold weather.
-
I havent actually fixed anything but the problem hasnt repeated itself. I've just put it down to the caining I was giving it combined with the cold weather. I dont think my overboost valve is set correctly anymore so I might need to get it adjusted as well. I spoke with steve from ammrr and he thought it likely that the boost spiked and caused the head lift.
-
End of last year I went 10.98 @ 134. Tyres were cheap chinese 20x35x245 with 35psi in them. My next run the trans wouldnt shift into 4th.

Was good meeting ya as well Don, I would have liked to stay out longer and had a good chat with ya but after my car spat all the coolant out the overflow tank, which I believe was due to the head lifting, I figured it was best to get it home rather than go to the next stop :( Hopefully I'll have it sorted before the next cruise
