  1. I will post pictures when finished, but the end product could be at least 6 weeks away yet as I'm trying to buy a block of land for a house. It's not exactly the cheapest thing haha. Water lines I'm not sure where they go so I will have a look at my mates xr6 turbo.
  2. Yeah I was hoping to get all the manifolds second hand. But I got sick of waiting and bought them brand new. so $2000 for the manifolds, I got a turbo and actuator for $1100 and all intercooler and piping plus dump pipe for $210. that's the major stuff anyway. I'm just trying to sought out how to make an after market oil drain line to my sump without drilling and tapping the sump. most likely will make a T piece fitting at work and screw that into my sump drain hole.
  3. $850 for intake manifold, near $1200 for the exhaust manifold.
  4. I had to order a genuine xr6 turbo one through Ford as no one want's to sell their own.
  5. Yeah I'm currently only running the standard intercooler, but once everything is fitted it goes into my local tuner for the finishing touches, thicker head gasket, upgraded valve springs and valves, maybe an atomic cam, injectors and a herrod stainless exhaust 3 or 3.5 inch haven't decided yet with a tune. so I will build up from there and see what power it put's out on the dyno.
  6. Yeah I tried this thread over at ford forums and they basically said waste of time go and buy an xr6t. My local dealer is a pain in a**** and I won't ever go back to them. Plus I like my ute how it is, de badged, lowered front and rear (thanks to pedders), custom sub box to sit in between seats behind the centre console, manual, The list goes on. So I thought I'd give it a go.
  7. Yeah. That's exactly what I'm after. Cheers, Ben
  8. Hey guys, just wondering if a few of the FG xr6t owners could post some photos of their engine bays? In particular some close up shots of the Turbo and manifold positions, oil and water lines, intercooler position and around the intake manifold aswell? Cheers guys
  9. Its got the Factory optioned LSD but I think that's just an M80 with a diff locker. The gearbox is the 6spd manual.
  10. Thought about it already but I can't justify a 12 grand complete motor compared to a $3000 upgrade.
  11. Yeah I'm not really holding out for trade prices as yet. I'm just looking for second hand gear before I go and get ripped off by ford at the moment. I'm not trying to make it a track car haha. It is already lowered through pedders so will that do? I looked for a motor but I need it to be Euro4 compliant so that it can get engineered. Cheers for the positive comment
  12. Ok that'd be great thanks. yeah so far I have picked up the stuff quite cheap though I'm a bit worried about the manifolds. I was told that I will have to replace valve springs. though it wouldn't hurt to replace the valves and seats with a stronger set. Yeah I've been warned about the insurance and I can install the bolt ons myself though I have 2 mates that are willing to help install the internals, both are mechanics and one is a team leader for my local ford dealer. so that should help. No I'm off my p's in December.
  13. Hi guys, I'm new to the forums and have been chasing up on some info on a N/A to turbo conversion for my 2010 FG xr6 ute. now currently I have all: 1. stock intercooler and pipes 2. stock BF turbo 3. stock FG dump pipe I will be tapping the oil return line into my sump and I have an xcal3 tuner so I won't need to change my ECU. I'm aware that I will also need a 2 point map sensor, thicker head gasket, boost controller, all oil and water lines for the turbo and intake and exhaust manifolds. Anyway what I'm asking is, what else will I need? and can somebody please give me a detailed write up for directions on the install. I have looked at the other posts though they really didn't give much direction. Any help guys would be great. Cheers Ben
