Nope its stuffed... Once the zf is contaminated your basically up for a new box/ complete rebuild the mechatronics will also be stuffed and that's the big one. Zf charge $1000 more for an exchange box if its been contaminated
What codes do ford get on the ids? When they say no codes generally they are overlooking codes they think are irrelevant... Im yet to see a ba with zero fault codes
Ba/f have a bracket that goes from the engine mount to the turbo flange so manifold removal is impossible, turbo must be removed separately, that one bolt is not really that hard, 14mm short socket, uni and 6inch extension
If friction material has gone thru the mechatronics theres a good chance its stuffed... Not sure what if anything they do with mechatronics units on a rebuild... Just a thought
A dealership is never going to win the price battle in servicing. Performance workshops and general mechanical shops dont have the same overeads we do like training 10 apprentices and putting techs through years of master tech training. Warranty and all the other crap we simply cannot afford to compete in price. Which is why customer service and after sales/warranty support has to be spot on. Some dealers fail dismally in these areas. Great example, customer had lower arms replaced (turbo terry) under the r1101 recall 18 months ago (parts warranty is 12 months 20000ks) the ball joints failed. We covered the cost of parts and labour completely. Customer = happy.
Yeah building it for a mate, rb25 conversion gt35 turbo on highmount manifold, arp headstuds, performance valve springs, poncams, id1000s, fpr800, nistune and z32... Clint will be tuning
