Just the standard stuff, sports ryder 2994 front coils and they reset the rear leafs, whiteline 20mm sway bar in the rear and adjustable 33mm in the front.
Yep those are the ones. Also fitted the rear sway bar which required a redo of the exhaust as the mounts had changed in FG and the rear muffler was in the way. (their bad, whiteline don't make rear sway bar for FG only BAF)
My 2011 FG ute now has 10,500km on it and is averaging 14.3L/100, its not daily driven and barely gets on the highway for longer than 10 minutes each time its used. Pretty good if you ask me, average of 39km/h
I ended up going with the pedders package and got front and rear sway bars at the same time. Handles like its on rails now, could probably go a bit lower front and rear but I'm fairly happy with how it turned out!
Just spend a few hours on a sunday and wash it yourself mate, all auto car washes are a joke as the water is recycled and not fresh, imagine that high pressure water blasting sand and grit into your paint. Not good.
I had pretty bad axle tramp when the ute was stock but after lowering the ute with pedders and adding front and rear sway bars I'm not getting any axle tramp at all..in the wet the rear is very predictable and slides out nice and smooth, in the dry it launches much better before loosing a bit of traction
hi guys I've just been to pedders and grabbed a quote for new suspension..going the 33mm adjustable front sway bar and the guy put down a 20mm heavy duty rear sway bar..I know utes don't come with these so whats the benefit? my understanding is having a stiffer rear end will make the ute slide out a lot easier..don't really want this especially in the wet, what are the improvements? has anybody bothered doing the rear?
hey mate did you end up going ahead with this? if so do you have a picture you could throw up? Im almost certain on getting some grids for my FG ute but don't have the slightest clue about offsets.
From memory the offset was +38 on the rear and +35? on the front...offset is confusing as dish and lip come into it as well..for example a flat spoked wheel in 20x10 (like the std 19's) will have a different offset to one with dish/lip (they're two different things as well but f*cked if I know which is which) from what I gather?
That 4 link looks great! Watched the videos on BPT as well..might be a worthwhile investment. Remember the $5900 also doesn't include the shock/spring combo
Just got quoted $2600 for some Koya Inox VIZZO wheels..new style its 20x8.5 front 35p and 20x10 rear 30p..I was under the belief 40p would be the perfect offset for the rears so does that mean with an offset of 30 they will sit inside the guard a fair bit?
I got quoted $800 fitted with wheel alignment for the Herrod package, $600 for the pedders with wheel alignment and $700 for king springs (from repco not installed) Apparently Kings have revised the rear leafs to prevent the tailshaft issue? unclewal - thanks for the heads up mate, will have a chat with him tomorrow. ff1- yep mate that's the package..doesn't have much info at all.
Been looking at the Herrod package over what pedders were going to do (reset rear leafs..sports ryder up front) is new leafs in the rear worth the extra? and secondly does anybody have pics of this set up on an FG ute?
cheers mate, cant seem to get those wheels anywhere in 20's so they're a no go..settled on these instead. can only get them with a width of 9" will that cause problems on the front?
Sweet thanks mate, at least I know the dealer isn't bullsh*tting me. Guess it's just a characteristic of the car even if it is a little embarrassing on a car with just 1800km on it.
I know these have a driveline clunk but I've never been in another one to hear what it is exactly. Mine almost since I drove it off the dealership has had a clunk whenever you release the clutch whether you're cruising or giving it some, more pronounced 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd..took it to Sunshine and they reckon they all do it..just wanted to make sure. The bloke from Bryan Bryt said it doesn't sound normal for it to happen through the gears like that.
