  1. Happy Birthday adamw!

  2. Definitely a good deal (if not an ex chaser)
  3. SOLD for the 31k - buyer picked it up today (flew in from Perth and put it on a truck). I think it was a fair price.
  4. DSG shifts take 8ms

How do they go with MTs on the rear wheels?
  6. I don't know why this economic reality then doesn't apply to BA/BA II XR6T's? How are people still selling them in the low to mid 20's when there is supposedly a steady supply of BFII's worth high 20's? I can definitely see a lot against them (one of the reasons I'm selling is I feel like I've been raped every time I pay $1.93 a litre for BP Ultimate), but I don't think its as bad (yet) for good quality BF/BF II T's as its being made out.
  7. In the end I'd let go of my BF2 for 31k (no point advertising it there or I'll get offers for low 20's - you know the deal.) I honestly can't see anything but ex chaser BF2 T's (not phoons - different story - I would actually expect resale on them to be worse because they start off at much higher $$) going in the 20's. When I was shopping for mine I called a lot of dealers from carsales and all the "holy sh*t that's cheap!" ones were all "sorry misttyped price..... but for 10k more can we interest you in...." or scams. Just my personal experience. I have regular experience with chasers where I work most of my hours, and while they are very well maintained I would not buy one for a variety of reasons (one being they are always run off ULP)
  8. Surely the extra goodies you get spending an extra 8K on a BF2 over a BA is worth it? I cant understand spending 23K on a BA when you can spend a bit more and get a car that does not need upgraded valve springs, a new clutch or strengthened tranny and has tougher rods and is less likely to go boom when modified. Also less k's I agree with either waiting or getting the best BF1/2 you can for the best price.
  9. 28K is a good trade for a BF1 with those K's.. that's what Id expect to get for my BFII trade. The only place I've had it advertised on is here until 2 weeks ago. I've only had it advertised on carsales, and in the paper for less than 2 weeks and have plenty of interest (particularly from interstate) now. Not sold until someone ponies up the cash obviously though ... There is a big difference between an ex chaser BF to a BF II with under 20k's on it. As I said, in almost every search on carsales you'll find one or two cars priced well below the rest of the pack and ring to find out that they want a deposit sent to a bank account in Russia or they "mistyped the price".
  10. There are plenty of low km BFII's for sale, but I'm guessing EGOBFXR6 is looking in the mid 20's rather than the low 30's where they are
  11. Redbook is pointless Noone is going to sell you a BF XR6T with 40ks for the prices people are getting for BA II's ($25k), especially with the ZF auto
  12. If its a substantial amount cheaper than the rest of the pack its probably a copy and paste of another ad with a Nigerian scammer on the other end (as SCRIBR said). Happens all the time. I've got my BFII ZF6 with 18K on it and a few options at $33,750negotiable and I thought that was pretty cheap.
  13. Yes there are a few here at Hidden Valley Ford Darwin Good luck dealing with these wankers though
  14. Indeed, but that's up to the individual if they wish to take that risk. We all still drink alcohol even though having it available means inevitably some people will kill themselves with it
  15. 185-190 is not stock output for a BF2 XR6T with the 6spd auto. Most I've seen have put down 200-210 on a DD, SHOOT_6F mode.
  16. You're not wrong sixfan! Dealing with them here just makes my blood boil.. I was just about ready to buy a car from there a few weeks back and I turned up for a PRE-BOOKED test drive and the guy made me wait while he talked to some other potential customers who walked in off the street. He then announced he was taking them for a test drive first and I would have to wait 45 minutes!! WTF! Even dealing with the service dept has been such a miserable pain in the arse. I have just taken a downgrade to a Mitsubishi, not to an EVO, but I just sold the T and bought a Ralliart Colt. btw Evo's are very easy to modify. Check out www.evolutionm.net, download ECUFlash and get yourself an OpenPort cable and you can tune away... there's even tutorials on there for beginners. That's one thing really lacking with the T... there is no reasonably priced or better yet free software out there for tuning. I don't agree with the principle that anyone who is not in tuning for commercial gain is somehow incompetent and shouldn't have access to tuning tools.
  17. Hi guys Anyone local (Darwin) interested in an airbox lower half with the factory F6 cutout for the CAI? Comes with the CAI as well. It's not an XR6T box with a hole cut in it. I'm going to put my factory airbox lower half back in before the car sells. Also got TheMeshMan grills top and bottom but I think they only fit a BF/BF2. Sad about the car leaving already and it doesn't have a 100% definite buyer yet :( Adam
  18. I think we can abandon hope on getting someone up here.. its just too hard :( My T is for sale now as well, I'm buying something smaller but still fun (perhaps a Polo GTI).
  19. Autotechnique have vcmsuite for the XR6T already?!
  20. Most look more expensive ($34,500 I'm asking)/older than mine (mine's a BF2). I can only see one cheaper and it has 58,000kms. There is one in the mid 20's but looks like a mistake.
  21. I think I'll keep the T, both after the comments and the experience I had yesterday. Went to test drive the XT at a pre-arranged time at the local dealer (Darwinites will know who... they also sell Ford...) and someone who walked in off the street at the same time I walked in for my booked test drive obviously took precedence and they expected me to wait 45 minutes while they took them for a test drive first. No surprise that I didn't buy the T up here either (had similar bullsh*t experience.. being treated like an idiot and attempting to sell me a used T for the price of a new one)
  22. That sounds somewhat promising. If I paid retail for the XT (it has a $3000 fleet discount available so I know there is room to move on them) and picked up $32k trade for the XR6T I'd be happy. Thanks for that..
  23. Just wondering what people think the prices of BF2's will be doing now that the FG is out. I'm wanting to sell my BF2 T but am considering whether to do the easy thing (trade) or private sale (harder). Looking to "upgrade" (probably the wrong word) to a family truckster - Forester XT. http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=43943 What sort of dollars do you reckon the above is worth trade, and private sale? I can see trade being a bit dismal considering the FG is now out but hopefully might fare a bit better on the private market. Adam
  24. Thanks mate, will I also need to adjust WOT fueling? Not that I have the ability to do any of this just yet, but I'm praying the vcmsuite rumours are true.
  25. Wouldn't mind an answer to my original question too If I enter new the new scaling values (if I can get a hold of them for standard injectors going to 60lb Dekas) - do I need to fine tune fueling or will it run roughly the same AFRs as before (when it had the old injectors and the old scaling values)?
