  1. Put me down as a maybe. I'll let you know if I can or cannot when it gets a little closer.
  2. How about, a bigger alternator... that's where the power comes from when the car is started... If you have a 90ampere an hour alternator, with a 1000watt system ( P / V = I ( 1000watt / 12V = 83.33 amps an hour ) ) Now if you get a bigger battery, you still have a 12V power supply so you're still going to be drawing a large amount of amperes through an alternator that's almost at it's peak.. now add your head lights, wipers, spark, fuel pump and what ever else runs in the car, You've just overloaded and burnt out your alternator. A battery is only really there to start the car and run the acc when the car is off. A bigger battery will only let you play music longer when the car is off.
  3. So to bring back an old thread. But how much are you guys roughly paying for the conversion ? You guys reckon its worth it ?
  4. What sort of power are you guys running to crack the block ? Im kinda worried now just picking up my 05 BA MKII with 313RWKW...
  5. I kinda gathered that. I just had to find where it was in order to remove it.
  6. Damn it! Guess I'll have to save $1200 for a new tune and Xcal. Thanks guys.
  7. It's not Xcal. Its Xflash. the old model with the 2 buttons and 4 LED's.
  8. How much do they charge? I seem to have a very old version of the Xflash. But don't want to buy a new tuner... lol
  9. So The highest boost I have is 12 PSI the other two is a valet mode, and a 10 PSI tune. I would like to retune the Xflash by Chiptorque, But want a high quality tuner. So I'm all new to this. So where could I go ?
  10. You reckon I could get more but still be pretty safe ?
  11. Hey guys! From the goodna region. So if anyone sees me, feel free to say G'day. I'm out and about all the time. I'll probably be with my son and missus.
  12. I have everything you have in this. 12 PSI tune. Process west stage 3.1 intercooler kit. I'm pushing 313KW. But the guy told me its a super safe tune.

    No.
  14. Auto meter I think.
  15. as title says, I'm running a 12.5 PSI tune through chip torque. When I'm on full boost, its reading 14.5 pound. It does this too on the 10 PSI tune, But reads 12 PSI Am I over boosting, or is it just the cheap gauge I have ?

Yeah mate. Pushing that, and nothing come up about cruise on the dash. I think the wire on the switch might be bummed. And to add to my list. The ONLY thing I want it to do now, is dose... Like VL dose.. I think the Stock bov is still hooked up.
  17. I want mine to sound like that one done at night.... I have a big intercooler on mine with the intake under the battery. I just need to find the BOV now...

Hey guys! just picked up my 2005 BA MKII 6 speed manual today. I'm in love! Currently has: - 67,000KM - 20inch MKX wheels - Lowered with King springs - Process West stage 3 intercooler kit - Process west under battery cold air - Bosch 968 42# injectors - Walboro intank fuel pump - Upgraded valve springs - Larger turbo waste gate and actuator - Single 3.5inch exhaust with 5inch high flow cat - Capa flash tuner with 3 settings - NPC 11inch clutch with billet steel flywheel When I picked it up, it was running on the 12.5 pound tune ( highest he had. Im now the second owner ) tuned to 313KW at the wheels. I dropped the tune back to 10 pound as it was just too much power for me at the moment, and I couldn't keep traction in 1st 2nd, and I wasn't game for 3rd. It runs so beautiful, and the only thing I found wrong is the cruise control doesn't work or even turn on? Picked her up for $22,000. My brother says I should of paid more!
  19. I don't want to sound silly. But have you ever gone back to a completely stock tune ? maybe there is a blockage in the fuel line ?
  20. Hey guys, I recently went for a drive in an XR6 Turbo Manual running about 310KW. Needless to say I'm in love. But I just have some concerns I was hoping could be cleared up. Its got 100,000 on the clock and the owner informed me that its still running a standard clutch. My question is, Would the clutch be alright running that much power, or should I be worried that it will die on me within the first few weeks of ownership ? The next thing I'm worried about, I had a look at the turbo after a drive, and played around with the shaft. There was no in out play, but there was some up and down play, Nothing major, but it did move very slightly. Again my question is, Is the turbo alright? I have my brother telling me there shouldn't be any what so ever ( never owned a turbo car ) and I have my friend who is a 4th year ford mechanic that says its perfectly normal and his does the same thing. So should I be worried and look elsewhere ? One other quick question. It has the dual zone climate control. My mate ( The mechanic ) says that the dual zone has a very common problem with some shaft that breaks behind the dash causing one side to be hot and the other to be cold. Has this happened to anyone ? He said it's a *beep* of a job to fix and is quite costly.
  21. Double check that the plugs are in properly, and that its all plugged in properly.
  22. A boost controler would fix this ? or an external wastegate ?
  23. I'm pretty sure oil lines into the car are a defect, and needing a electrical for the oil line.
  24. Sounds like a boost leak. maybe a shot O2 ?
  25. A thread onto BoostCruising might be a little better. If you haven't already. Quite a number of members on there.
