  1. You really think that non genuine coils can cause a loss of power but not misfire ?
  2. non genuin coils. No fault codes have come up.
  3. Brand new coils. Cat is perfect. It's been checked. fuel filter has been replaced too.
  4. So, I'm lead to believe that there may be a problem with my VCT. But I have no idea what to check, where to check, or how to check. at about 3500RPM onwards, it just doesn't seem to make anymore power. Just seems to stay the same pull as low to mid range, and was suggested about VCT. So how do I fix, clean, change it ? Already been to the dyno for them to say it's fine there are no problems. But I can't even spin 2nd gear in the wet anymore :(
  5. Well I'm meant to have 313 RWKW at 12.5PSI I pulled a 12.6 at 111 or 114 MPH ( need to look at the slip again. ) with mostly the same 60' time. 6 speed manual. I used to be able to spin 2nd gear just by putting my foot down. But now, I'm down 80HP and I can't even spin first under WOT. I can feel the major power difference :( Still haven't figered out whats wrong.
  6. ASAIK it's the same tuner. I'm starting to think not from how sh*t they were... anyways, car now has this horrible stalling problem. Everyset of lights it stalls. Sometimes without warning, other times it will drop to 200 RPM come back up and repeat, then stall. Still got no idea what this is, and I've had about 5 people tell me my car cannot loose 80HP just from some enigne wear in about 5-10,000 KM
  7. <.< thanks for pointing that out. lol. I will have this problem sorted. I'm not accepting the fact my car has lost 63kw In such a short period when the tuner says " wear and tear ". It will come back to 420rwhp.
  8. I guess you're unfarmiliar with the sense of 'sarcasm'. Anyways, just got back from the tuners. Everything went well after the coils and plugs, no more misfire, but just didn't seem to be making the same power as it used too. So they checked over the car, whacked it on the dyno to pull an extremly dissapointing 249.8 RWKW. So the car has just mysteriously lost 63RWKW. They said its cause the engine is older now, and it will need to be tuned if you want the same power, but it will have to run 16 or so PSI. But it's only done 18,000KM more than what it did when it had 313RWKW. So I'm pretty annoyed.
  9. I already have gapped. Coils and plugs have been replaced. Still not the same though. Going to the dyno sometime next week. Thinking of just buying a 698 atomic motor or what ever it is. Tossing that up or just spending the money on my engine.

  11. Could be intake manifold gasket? TPS or maybe just some sort of bad sencor. When you find out what it is, let me know so I can fix mine too!

  13. Hey guys. Just thought I would update this. Turns out 2 coil packs were almost dead and the gap in my plugs were off. Bought new coils and Plugs from super cheap and the car ran worse! Misfired beond beliefe after 4000 rpm. Changed back to old plugs and she ran much better. Turns out that they have me standard ba plugs with a 1.3mm gap when I need .8mm. All sorted now! Thanks for you advise guys! Much appreciated!

  15. Might buy some on ebay tonight along with plugs. if this doesnt work, I'll go to the dyno with a new set of plugs and coils lol.

The noise is exactly like traction control noise, I have it turned off and it still like its on starting to get worse now but it only does it the once then its fine untill I restart it and boost it again, its also doing it on less of throttle. I would edit my main post but unsure how. Can coils and plugs do this? Never been replaces in its 86,000KM of life.

  18. Yes, Nothing. Want a bigger pump anyways. So if someone knew it was exactly that, I would just replace it. Which I will do anyways... Kinda 2 birds with 1 stone, or more of a reason to replace it now, rahter than later. How do I clean the regulator ? I changed the fuel filter about 3 weeks ago. But will pull the pump out sometime through the week and clean it. Thanks. I think I have come down to throwing on the dyno, and getting a retune. Oh and to the other guy, No it's not a generic tune. Custom by cappa 5 years ago haha.

  22. I keep going at it. but it feels like it looses a bit of power. Not all of it, just some of it... Fuel pressure regualtor ?
  23. There is a pop out of the exhaust. Almost like traction control goes off sort of pop but not a loud bang just a pop lol after the pop is when it seems to have no power. But like I said it only surges for like half a second to 1 second. I'll pull the pump out and check the filter on it. I also don't want to spend the money on a dyno if I don't have to. I don't have a great deal of money haha and with the fuel prices going up, I have even less! Haha.
  24. So I don't know whether or not I've mentioned something here before. But for the last few months when I get up it, mainly in 2nd and 3rd gear, at about 4000RPM and full boost, the car seems to what I think 'surge' But after it has its little hickup, it seems to be fine but not make a great deal of power... almost like its not making boost or very little, yet the gauge still says 12PSI. It never spikes, or the boost never drops off. Just surges once or twice then just doesn't make power. Yes also, the car has plenty of fuel too. Plugs look fine, and the coils are pretty much perfect. New fuel filter, and oil. it's only ever run on 98 octain. I've been thinking maybe it's my fuel pump, but I'm not sure. Also today while it did it, 3rd gear full throttle. It compressor surged.. Now I have it dosing already, but it did it while I was on WOT. I've been searching for ages and cant find anything that helps me. So can someone help me?!? Is this my pump on its way out? It is an aftermarket pump, and it does get VERY noisey when I do a mountain run.
