  1. Gotcha...thanks again man!
  2. Reckon the couple of taps I gave it will get me through 4 or 5 start-ups tomorrow ? Gotta do some running around and can't get the car in till Monday.
  3. Thanks mate, you're all champions
  4. Yeah, you got me...I've got two screw drivers and a file in my 30yr toolbox which shows off my mechanical knowledge. Got very little idea how it all works but damn I like driving it!
  5. Thanks Guys, At least I will kind of sound like I know what I am talking about when I take it in Monday Morning. Cheers
  6. You serious?....this stuff exists?
  7. Thanks for your reply mate...yeah she sits on the garage most of the week as I have a work car. Did a weekend run from Sydney - Putty Rd - Dungog - Pacific Palms (2 nights) - Maitland - then M1 home in December. Went like a dream. Since then, bugger all k's. I'll take it to my local mechanic up the road as I am sure he can handle it without too many worries. Cheers again.
  8. Hi Guys, After 6 years and 40,000k's, I am pretty sure the starter motor has had it. Car wouldn't start...so gave the starter motor a tap with a spanner and It starts now. Not sure how long it will last, but thought original may have lasted longer. (Had car since new) Anyone know approx labour time and the price of a Starter Motor for a 2011 FG XR6 Turbo sedan? Hoping it it not a big job so my local guy can do it rather than my tuner who is an hours drive away. Many Thanks for any info.
  9. Happy Birthday thesal!

  10. Happy Birthday thesal!

  11. Ahh that explains alot. I'll still give Ford a ring, but thanks heaps for that piece of info. Anyone know where to buy a good looking FG oil temp gauge?
  12. That would make good sense, but I looked through the owners manual and couldn't find any mention of this.
  13. thanks for the info guys, Bulletime - no limp mode, just the warning flash which went away once I coasted in "D" and "N" for 30-40 seconds. Why does the temp needle stop at half way?... you'd think it should gradually climb so you can ease off a bit as it gets to say 3/4. I'll be ringing Ford today! And, yeah it was damn fun, only passed one or two cars from just outside Wauchope all the way to Walcha. Ford Freak - it definitely wasn't the transmission warning. It was engine temp warning, in big red letters. tab - I was shifting at about 5000 every time and didn't hit the rev limiter once. It was mostly uphill and I was chasing a big ZX14 so yeah, I was giving her a flogging and I was down shifting quite a bit to try and take some pressure off the brakes. (we stopped at at a roadworks red light for about a minute and we could smell them cooking) Bonjaz - I may have to think about some guages but I'm going to chat with Ford first and see why the engine temp needle doesn't go past half.
  14. Hi Guys, Went for a run up the Oxley Highway recently and after about 30 minutes of "fun" following a mate on his ZX-14R up the mountain, my main centre display beeps, then flashes in red.... WARNING: ENGINE TEMPARATURE, along with the little red triangle with the ! inside it and a red number 1 next to it. I eased right off, and after approx. 30-40 secs, all warnings disappeared. Strange thing was, the temperature needle guage on the left was pointing just under half. Outside temp was 12 degrees. Has anyone has this temperature warning flash while driving enthusiastically? Did your temperature guage go over half? And what did that number 1 mean? Apart from that little scare, the car went fantastic the whole trip. Any comments, ideas or suggestions are much appreciated. Small video leading up to the warning at 0.43 (excuse GoPro angle & sound - first time we used it) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05pbNKTdwAw
