  1. I thought the same until I looked through the show us your fg thread and saw everyone is just content with this "not very lowered" look of KFRL-68SSSL's.
  2. Appreciate the advice guys but bags/coilovers are out of the question for various reasons. The N/A XR50 is just a reliable daily to me and I don't want to sink that kind of money into it, but at the same note I don't want to dodgy the sh*t out of it and chop coils. I'm open to the idea of springs from another model falcon but honestly it may sound like I'm trying to slam this thing on it's ass but I'm not... The SSSL's in the rear right now sit almost an inch above the 20" tyre. I just want them to be a little lower.
  3. Yeah but all I've found online from looking at "ultra low" listings is products that have a KFRL-68SSSL code. :(
  4. G'day Guys. I'll cut to the chase. Looking for rear springs to suit FG Sedan that are lower than KFRL-68SSSL. I have kfrl-68sssl's already and it really bothers me sometimes that there is a decent gap between the 20" tyre and the guard. Does anyone know whether there is a KFRL-68SSSSL in existence, or if another manufacturer is making something off the shelf lower than the king spring options? I'm having a hard time finding somewhere in WA that will reset the springs so now I'm looking to a better off the shelf alternative. (not paying for coilovers)
  5. Hi guys, Noticed the other day my master brake cylinder in my FG XR50 (na) has been leaking and has left some nice artwork on my brake booster. I've done a search and found a couple suggestions to get the seals replaced in it, I'm going to give a couple brake places a call on Monday to ask whether this is something they can do. If they say no, then I'm going to shop around for a second hand brake cylinder as I don't feel like paying $300-400 just in parts for a new one. My questions are, A) Have you or anyone you know had any luck getting the seals in a leaking master cylinder replaced? Was it expensive? Did they hold? B) Does anyone have any experience regarding what model numbers of brake boosters are interchangable on BF-FG? I have the model B227-129 on mine, however the only second hand ones I can find on eBay have the numbers B227-121 and B227-130? Will this mean they won't fit?
  6. Happy Birthday chevZ!

  7. Whats the liklihood of overboosting here?? Wouldnt mind running a dose pipe but see a lot of people saying overboosting is a problem.
  8. Im also wondering the same.......... heard a few stories of early fg autos busting tailshafts as soon as you put it down too much but havnt got anything set in stone.. would like to see someone with a fg auto whos just slammed it and can say "nope mines fine" then that will be good enough for me to dump mine another 1-2 inches lol
  9. This is what we've been chasing examples of for a while!! I would really like to hear people with FG Auto Utes that have lowered it past a reasonable amount (tucking tyre, even if its just a bit) and how their tailshaft is holding up.... Do you have a pic mate?
  10. Out of curiousity mate - auto or manual? tell me if you have any problems with tailshaft. Cheers
  11. I'm running standard boost with exhaust only mod. Blocking the BOV is still worthwhile, it adds a bit of fun to driving and may relieve a little bit of that "Wish I bought a v8, cause this thing sounds like a fart" that I'm sure we all get from time to time. You'll definitely hear it in the cabin and even more out of it.
  12. I posted a pic of exactly what you're looking for on the "Bovs on Autos" thread. It sounds mint
  13. it's interesting you say this, I had this similar setup but with just both ends of the piping blocked (took the bov off completely) which essentially would of done same thing as what the picture indicates. Then I got bored and started playing with it - I removed the stopper you can see on the top of this picture and my flutter was considerably louder. so I did this..
  14. SSL Pedders front Reset Rear Leafs in rear, going to either reset them lower or put blocks in soon, it sits just over tyre which still looks too high.
  15. Not really stock 18s but you get the drift Going to go lower, only thing stopping me is how scared I am of munching the tailshaft as apparently these things arnt the best.
  16. recently lowered my FG reset rear leafs and SSLs in front, they can reset leafs to any height apparently.. im wanting to put blocks in to go a little lower because it still looks a bit high. I completely agree with whoever said the FG ute does bottom out though, im on 19s and with my front height I still hear something bottom out on big bumps or some speed bumps.. I wouldnt go lower than this on the front, on the rear though I am really wanting more information about tailshaft and warranty etc before dropping blocks in. can get more pics for anyone interested
  17. Most suspension places can get them in for you and fit them !
  18. I recently blocked my stock BOV on my Auto FG XR6T today, for a video heres it: only a quick snap and it's louder in person, and I'm sure I'll master the foot lift off the more I drive it now.. but it's not even enough of a noise to annoy you in an auto - at least with mine unless I lift off under heavy acceleration it won't make the noise - which is PERFECT! because if I'm rolling through a RBT or trying not to attract attention it won't flutter everywhere - but when I want it to, boy does she flutter :-) may go purchase an aftermarket BOV at a later date, but for now this is looking very good :-)
  19. I meant that doesnt really bother me, english fail! lol um I bought ute with it on there but it looks twin 2.5" to me and previous owner said it was 1200
  20. I have an aftermarket exhaust on mine and it has none of these problems, however on cold starts it will vibrate quite hard for about 10-30 seconds, but that really bother me.
  21. Good to hear you got it all done under warranty in the end mate.
  22. Apparently was the "Stop Tail Switch" was shorting out, all fixed now.. see how long it lasts :D
  23. yeah tell me about it that's why as soon as I realised they wernt lighting up I called ford first thing in morning and got it in straight away, f*ck driving with no brake lights !!
  24. It seems not many people really care but oh well I know someone else will run into this one day.. I made another discovery that its somehow linked to the brake lights as my brake lights are every now and then not working when I brake!! and as soon as this happens, my ABS fault etc comes up. Off to ford today, will see what they find.
  25. Bit of a development.. seems to be coming on whenever I drop the handbrake now.. :/ ABS+DSC fault both at same time, both will go off when I turn car off but then when I drop handbrake again.. fault. Thinking im going to have to go to ford but I'm worried about the lowered = void warranty thing ?
