  1. Good results lads, this is great fun and well worth it,it helps people keep their licences too. I have been invited to race at WSID,on sunday 16th of august with the Falcon GT club, really looking forward to this anyone from here going ?
  2. This thread is very pleasing to read,I thought I was one of few people in this company, with my secret service operations on the car lol it seems we are all on the same band wagon, guess there are worse vices out there then modding cars
  3. Very honest and gutsy revelation ,well done for sharing this with others, Self control is so important.when im the first car stopped at a set of lights.Im forever getting cars revving/creeping forward to encourage a run only though experiece and lots of self control,I avoid temptation ,my years of racing at wsid are very good therapy !
  4. Start with a blond/brunette in a spa lol just kidding , I would do injectors, edit, mufler removal then a nice intercooler all in one hit.if you cant afford all this at once it will cost you more in separate tuning sessions
  5. Regardless of whos to blame Ford/vodafone I think this is the f*ck up of the century,I wont be watching a one horse race
  6. I had similar issues when car was stock, fitted an edit and tuner fixed the gremlins
  7. My guess is high 12,s with a clean take off
  8. Yes on both counts ,they were vey helpfull in the begining, however when they buckled the rear rim ,they said nothing after a service and replyed : these alloy rims fail frequently. that was the last time I let them near my car ,lesson learnt
  9. Thanks for the reply, I will try some of these techniques
  10. Hi does anybody know procedure ,to bleed the air out of the power steering ,high pressure hose has been replaced and reservoir had no oil in it, now I can hear mild cavitation. Thanks in advance
  11. I dont agree with the hand brake theory: when you stop your car even on a slope,if you apply your brakes firmly. you are holding the mass of the vehicle with four calipers As opposed to a hand brake where your only appying the rears the key issue here is to ENSURE ,you apply sufficient pedal pressure to prevent car from creeping forward/backwards.thus preventing load onto transmission, that's my humble opinion
  12. You wont get any argument out of me,you dont just get the grunt either ,the whole package : Looks, handling ,braking ,safety......................................................................... .....................
  13. Thanks for the cruise people ,certainly got rid of some cobwebs ,good to meet a few new faces
  14. I used clear o ring grease , spread some of it in the channels for the window and them raise & lower window ,it worked a treat
  15. Horrible stuff,as long as your ok,cars can be replaced including r specs ,theres about 4 for sale atm mate
  16. Definately get it fixed myne was also just weeping, few months later radiator top hose looked like an anaconda snake that's swallowed a rat lol
  17. You are not wrong , power steering line including power steering fluid and labour $130.00 believe me no regrets
  18. Just thought I would pass on to others, the ovious observation, that small problems such as small leak of oil coming from the power steering reservoir, can potentially cost you big $$$. Whilst servicing the car I noticed this minute leak,it happened to be dripping onto the top radiator hose, coming from the high pressure steel line for the power steering reservoir. the top radiator hose started to distort and bulge,it was in such a bad condition it could have let go at any time.I decided to change the reservoir hose.top & bottom radiator hose and I gave radiator full flush and added new coolant. if the radiator hose blew it could have easily cooked the engine, just thought I would share this with other forum members ,so others can learn from my experience,I have definately learnt lots from this forum and its the least I can do

    Your First Car?

My first car was a :1976 Ford td cortina ,straight 6 250 motor,automatic,2v heads,extractors,exhaust,350 holley lots of memorable/funny memories: As a p driver I was driving up the carpark ramp,of a shopping center ,I floored the litle bugger ,and to my surprise when I got off the pedal, the car was still red lining & full steam ahead.it was like a scene from dukes of hazard, with the car going airbourne on to the next level, with the driver and passengers nearly soiling their pants ,I killed the ignition keys and it came to a halt centimetres from a wall.I opened the bonnet and found the accelerator spring on the carburetor had become stuck on a bracket
  20. Is it just me............ or isnt using your brakes negate the need to use the handbrake ?
  21. If computer detects any problems ,power will be backed off,Ford can check for any error codes with their diagnostic tool
  22. My Ba had a Webasto fitted ,bought it in 2003 as a demostrator and had Ford throw it in,totaly factory in appereance
