I seem to have a electrical problem with my BA , well make that 3 problems. 1) My air bag light is on. 2) My cruise control has stop working, most of the time or it starts but turns off in about 5min. 3) When the cruise control is not working my horn stops as well, the one in the steering wheel. What next I wonder.

Can someone help me out here, iam chasing some figures on kw and torque of a stock ba xt manual sohc V8 and what the apx figures would be after some performance upgrades. I now have a kn air filter with the extra snorkel in the air box, helix spacer, twin 2.5" manta exhaust, pacemaker extractors. Next step is a custom tune, I have e-mail three tuners but none can give me any apx figures, they just say 3v improves will with a edit. Has anyone already done these upgrades and can help me out with some figures.

Just got a set of Pacemaker extractors and manta twin 2.5inch out exhaust, K&N filter fitted to my BA XT V8. It's like driving a different car with a exhaust note at 3000 rpm you'll die for and at 5000 rpm sell your house baby. Just towed my 7/4foot loaded trailer 1500km non stop on a stretch of road iam very common with, fuel usage went from stock 12.4lit/100km down to 11.5lit and at one stage because one of the road houses had closed at midnight (non school holiday hours) and the next being 50km away with only 59km left in the tank I when for it. Drove at 65kph in fifth gear fuel dropped down to 7.3lit/100km so she made easily. Torque at low rev's still great and in fact she'll accelerates in top gear from as low as 1000 rpm. I don't no how much power gain but boy she hammers hard now and sounds o/so sweet, I always new she had a soul it just took $2000 bucks to fine it.

Ive had a BMC filter over two years now and live in the Pilbara, one of the most dustiest area in WA. I clean mine every four to six month. plus wiped a white tissue into the intake tube and never found a speck of red dust on the engine side of the filter. I put the oil in a spray bottle and spray the filter after a good clean.

Not much I can say "still runs like new".

Uni-Bar fitting can take 1-3hr's, 1hr if your fitting just small lights. If your fitting large lights you will need to make a surport bracket that bolts onto the bumper steel surport behind the plastic bumper. Try replacing headlight bulb's h4&H7 with hella+50 globes they work great on the out-back roads.

Just fitted a set of ipf 130watt driving lights, they surely attract the bug's. Well better make that blind the poor suckers.

Just spent 30 minutes toying around with my V8 air box, come up with this idear. 1)Drilled 2X40mm holes with hole cutter. 2)Push two pvc pipe joiners through the holes. 3)Fit two apx 250mm lenghts of pcv pipe to the joiners. 4)Slide air box back into place with the two lenghts of pile fitting firmly between bottom of headlight and front panel, pipes are leaning downwards. Go for a drive no whisle just a nice intake growl and no engine flat spot at 4800rpm, just rev's straight up to rev limiter. Cost about $15 bucks as I had left overs from a reticulation job.

"Golden Oldie" Will nealy three years young. Thanks ford for the great car and SH!T diff.

Just fitted a set of IPF900s 130 watts to the front of my BA, had to remove my battery to do a bit of wiring. The heat of the out back is bloody hard on the battery to the point that some time the acid overflows or I overfull it causing this. Used a wire brush then a coat of killrust enamel and finally a coat of flat black engine enamal. Time for a maintance free battery.

Just changed my worn out (25000km) Sumitomo 235/45/17 as both the inside front tyres where worn badly, for a fresh set of Kumho 94z 711. Early days yet about the tyres but I have a question about the wheel alignment. The report states the vehicle type as a AU11 so is the camber castor and toe the same as a BA falcon V8 all has tyrepower stuff up.

My XTV8 manual is now 45000km young with more back lash and diff clunk then my 278000km Pajero. Ford dealers (3 of them) all say it's normal. So now whats the good of a five year warrenty when the fix jack sh!t in the drive line. So after buying three new fords in a row over 10 years maybe a change is just around the corner, new PAJERO.

The H4 are 55/60W but produce 110/130w at 4350k and the H7 are 55w producing 100w at 4350k. These MTEC bulbs are rated at the same class as PIAA in Japan and have a lifetime warranty against burn out and even if they just go dim. Pair of H4 $35 bucks and H7 the same price on e-bay USA. Ive had these globes for a year now, also run them all night many are time on trips to Perth. No burnt reflectors and still as bright as new. I like the H7 the best.

I fitted a set of MTEC super white xenon bulbs around six month ago on my BAXTV8 while I was working up north. I have made two run's to Perth at night and I mean all night, globes are still bright and working well. Low beam not as good as stock but hight beam is great. If you have a look from front on they a bloody bright but low beam need more wattage. The H4 are rated at 55/60w but produce 110/130w 4350k and the H7 are rated at 55w producing 100w 4350k. These bulbs are are rated in the same class as PIAA in Japan and have a lifetime warranty, will that's what the add said anyway. At around $35 bucks per pair on e-bay. Ive posted a photo with the MTEC on the left and the stock on the right.

BP Visco 5000 5w40 synthetic oil at only $29.00 for four liters its half the price of Redline all Amsoil. With the tempiture of 46C yesterday it handles the heat well in the out back.

You can buy it online at www.autospeed.com for around $145.00 and the part number is 327/04 listed for the BA XR6T. Davo

I like the Narva's 180mm spot beam, they are as good as Hella 1000 and a hell of a lot cheaper. I dont think they make the 180mm anymore as repco only list 175mm now. The beam is not only just a spot beam but has a good spread as well doubled the headlight range. This photo is a little closer.

Yes if you mount fairly large lights you will need to make a support bracket that mounts to the metal bumber support. This mounts the unibar much more firmer to the plastic bumber bar, with two large bolts running through the bumper to the support bracket.
-
Just fitted the Narva lights on to the Unibar and it looks ok to me, whole job cost a little under $190.
