  1. Scan throws a wastegate failure. After I installed the MR Turbo catridge, it nows seems to be overboosting and throwing the motor into limp mode. Anyone know what to do? Reflash with another program CAPA etc? I really wouldn't mind keeping it stock, just want to fix her up.
  2. would 4.85L also apply to the T5 gearbox? I really want to quiten this box down.
  3. XR6T T5 box. I just replaced my gearbox oil for the first time. I was hoping that it was going to quiten down a bit with an oil change, it has slightly reduced some noise, especially in 2nd, which is exceptionaly harsh, 3rd is smooth as is 4th. I was told by the parts dealer that they take 1.8 litres. I put close to 2.5 litres (probably spilt a bit). I have read elsewhere that filling the T5 up to 4.85 litres reduces noise considerably (or is that the T56?). Should I fill it up some more until overflows out of the fill up plug? p.s oil used was Penrite Gear oil 75. I have read about Mainlube/Redline quitening boxes down a bit, but I aint forking out that kind of cash every oil change?
  4. are you serious? if a piston cracked I doubt the computer could fix it.
  5. Well actually it is the diff I am having looked at. But, I have done the Diff bush myself with a super pro comfort option, should I have them do the front diff bushes when they do the diff. (damn it's getting expensive). Could I do the front diff bushes myself without dropping the craddle and taking the diff out?
  6. Apparently there is a diff shop close by that can drop the cradle just a little without taking the whole thing out, labour cost are much lower.
  7. Car lost traction and went into limp mode. (whewww) Vibration is from the diff/driveline, going to the diff doctotrs soon.
  8. Ok, so I have replaced the turbo cartridge with a MR Turbo one, now under boost at 3500rpm in 4th the car shudders and looses power. So today I tested it out after a few adjustments and hit 4th at 3500rpm and the car severley lost power, kinda like chug chug chug back home (1 minute drive), then I popped the bonnet and there was coolant jamming its way back into the resevoir under some type of pressure. There was also a knock in the what sounded like the engine, but from the side of the car also sounded as if it was from the gearbox. Sat the car for 1 and half hours, then fired it up, no knocking noise and coolant was back to normal, took it for a light drive, it seems ok but I know the problem still remains, if I boost it up it's gonna pop for sure. Any idea's. p.s. I am taking it to a mechanic to check it out, definitely to Ford to run the diagnostics.
  9. Harrop - 500rwkw Eaton - 500hp I have been told that stateside Eaton trutrac's won't fit directly into our diff housing without modification (which harrop does). The GTO in America does however use the same diff as here in the holden's, so they have them there to fit the HSV's. No luck for the Ford team though.
  10. is it worth the effort? or is it a real bastard to do? $440 labour for the shop to do it.
  11. anybody know how to drop the IRS cradle? Come on someone must have done it at home with jack stands.
  12. Need a tutorial - how to drop the IRS cradle. Ford XR6 Turbo sedan.
  13. Nope, wasn't that hard really. Contact a stripper and use some sandpaper.
  14. T5 gearbox, as far as I know. Definitely has had the gearbox off of the car before, someone almost stripped some of the bolts.
