About Sizzy

  1. Yeah I know what your talking about. I thought it was weird but my FG has been making a high pitched whine too. Only noticed it through winter but the ute is running perfectly. There is nothing wrong with it don't worry mate.
  2. Just get the supercheap full arm replacements they are flex fit and mould around the windscreen. The wipers on my fg were the first things to go. There are 2 types so I got the higher model for the driver side and standard on the passenger. $50 for both and they are working perfect.
  3. 14 for me, not alot of highway driving.
  4. Yeah ive read some bad things on here about lowering fg's like the cv's in the sedans. Its kinda making me want smaller wheels and leave the height alone.
  5. You gonna lower your car? Im also looking but have a ute

Hey guys this is my first turbo car. An xr6T ute it's 2008 FG and I was wondering what everyone thought about maintenance. It has had one service from my local mechanic which was air filter oil filter and all the usual for only 220. Its due about a week ago for a service but still has about 7000ks untill due on the clock. Should I wait until the 30000kms? Also what do people do between servicing? Change the oil etc. Any turbo maintenance?
  10. I have looked everywhere and can't find one. I've got a fair idea but need a guide before I start pulling things apart. Can someone with a day off today make one? Lol
  11. Hey guys is there a guide for doing this in an FG?
  12. Well its been about a week since I swapped the bulbs out and I'm stoked. The light is way whiter and brighter and the high beams are unreal. Something I learned doing this was that the light is brightest between 4300-5000k, from then on it's mainly for looks as the light turns blue and even purple.
  13. Hey guys I did this today and you can definately feel the difference in response, felt like a really cold night. The hose is a *beep* to get off but I gently levered it off using my pliers and the solinoid to get it started then it comes off pretty easy. My fg is only 25000k old and the difference is still noticeable.
  14. Thanks mate I went out to autobarn and got some phillips crystal vision bulbs that just swap straight in. Had to remove the battery and air filter. For anyone interested the low beams are H4 and the high beams are H7. Parkers are included in both boxes.
