    Girls Wanted

I wonder if there are any hazards with having this near a mobile phone. Brings a whole new meaning to having it on 'vibrate'.

    Traction Control Off

I actually drove an XR8 ute last weekend in the pouring rain, and it actually behaved quite nicely. Must have plenty enough weight in the back end.

Ta Ken! Shall come to you for advice, consoling, or spare alcohol should the wait become unbearable!

    400 Days To Go!

Marcos, Couple of reasons. I was originally going to buy a new car on my 25th birthday, partly due to insurance reasons as well as a reward for finishing uni etc. But after some long thought, I decided I should spend some money improving the house first, then do the car. Money on house is an asset, money on car is an expense! So I decided that one more year would be OK. It gives me plenty of time to save up a sufficient deposit (wouldn't want to finance the whole thing), and for my patience, I'll get rewarded a Series 2! Bonus! I agree with KrasH though. The wait has been OK really. I was initially waiting to buy a 200SX until last year they got discontinued. Then the BA XR6-T came out. It hasn't been too painful. As for the wait after the order, eeek! Stay tuned!
  6. Yeah, there are pics on the Ford site. But I saw it at the Motorshow and thought it looked like leather bubblewrap.
  7. As they say...if you're white and you say bling bling, then you're a tool tool

Hehe...Thanks Scotty! Apologies for the late reply. Was busy out celebrating the 1 yr milestone until the XR comes (see 400 days to go post) Now I can go ding the Magna for half of the cost as earlier in the week. Gotta love cheap excess/insurance! Thanks again

    400 Days To Go!

 Hehehe. I assure you, no need for hard liquor here. Although I did have a quiet beer yesterday to celebrate my 25th, and serve as a timely reminder of one year until the obligatory XR purchase. Now under a year to go! Wow! Ian...have a mate who has a XR8 ute who doesn't mind me going for a spin. And anytime that I have a crummy week at work, I just walk over to Gregory's and remind myself. Mack...as the song says..."He's going the distance....he's going for speed!" And I severely doubt they'll take white out of the colour palette  No signs of greyness yet...

    Series II XR6T

AU I came out in Sept'98, AU II came out in Apr'00. I think you'll find that Expensive Daewoo were also locked into the fact that the all new Late model camira was coming out late next year, so VY was only going to have a 2yr product lifecycle. History dictates 2 series to be run each model. Ford explicitly dictated at the outset to combat excessively short product lifecycles due to the leasing companies getting stung for big depreciation costs.
  12. Case in point
  13. Whilst not a classic, I would go for the car that started my love affair with cars in general and ignited my passion for having a turbocharged car. A 1989 Ford Capri Turbo soft-top. Looked good, went like a dog shot in the ar$e and stopped just as fast. Sure it leaked a little when it rained, but that's why God invented celastic
  14. Discountnewcars.com.au is offering $1,500 discounts on XR6-T's. That's a starting point for you. Otherwise, agree with Cro.
  15. Hmmm...that's interesting. I hate the standard interior in the XR's. So it wouldn't worry me at all covering a brand new interior. Hence why I want the leather. It's nice and all, but I want it to cover the ugly interior trim. So it might be able to be done. Good stuff.
  16. Mornin' lads. Took one of my mate's XR8's for a spin last night (my first time behind the wheel of BA XR!!!). Besides noticing the silly grin on my face from reaching the 80kph speed limit on Gungahlin Dr. in the blink of an eye at half throttle :o , I noticed my mate has side airbags. Is it possible to have side airbags as well as aftermarket leather...specifically Herrod Motorsport's very cool looking leather seats? Or do you have to have factory seats?

underpsi, One tip for that...if you want to come to Oz, book the ticket from this end. That was one thing I noticed about the US in how expensive it is for you guys to fly over here, but it's dirt cheap for us. I can get over there for about A$1600 (US$1100) with some accommodation inclusions. I dare say it's because the US is a big market for us, but AU is a small market for you guys. Same as phone calls between AU & US. Dirt cheap to make a call from here, dear as poison from over there. As for guaranteeing you some Aussie girls, hang a piece of Greenback from your fly. That should help. And all your money is the same colour unlike ours so you could get away with a US $5 bill, if you wanted
  18. Sweet pic, geea. Nice work.
  19. You really don't have speed cameras?!?! Maybe we should all look at moving to Utah! Yeah, but they've got Mormons. Think I might stick with speed cameras

American accents go alright, but Irish accents really seem to pull in the Aussie chicks. There must be some sorta correlation there with Yank chicks liking Aussies, seeing we often get mistaken for Poms over there.

    Series II XR6T

It doesn't make sense to release the Series 2 BA before the Territory. Their market segments intersect and Ford no doubt want the Territory to get into the market before the Series 2, as well as issues surrounding the launch of the new Commodore. I reckon 4th quarter '04 is a pretty good bet. BTW, FPRXR-6, love the avatar. Go Hawks!
  22. What a job! Nice work if you can get it.

    The Big Lap!

Here's an excellent example of why matching alloy wheels should be standard. Surely it would not add anything to the price of the car doing so due to the buying power that Ford would have on such parts. Glad to hear everything's ship-shape again though bdennis. It's no fun at all to have such problems so distant from home. Although it's even less fun if it's just you and the road! Safe motoring, bdennis.
  24. Many people do not have trigger hoses or similar devices. That is why there is blanket rule regarding use of buckets - to keep the rules the same for everyone. Although, if you don't have a bucket Under Level 1 restrictions, you had to have a trigger hose. Woolies was perpetually sold out of them for a few days when that came in. Hence why I have mine.
  25. Mortally wounded, Ross!! :tears: I call it practice for the XR...have you ever seen a shinier Magna? :D I'd put forum stickers on it if it meant Associate entry to Team Venom (even though Mitsubshi call it "Cherry Red")
