  3. Good looking motor car mate. Welcome to the FG Club I'm on my third XR6T and went from TOXIC to Lightning Strike so a dramatic change from loud to subdued! I agree that the FG is significantly quicker than previous models. My only complaint is the high noise levels of the 19 inch wheels on rough bitiumen!

  5. I ordered mine on the first working day of this year and finally get it tomorrow. Popularity of the 6 speed auto was the reason given for the extended delay.
  6. I have kept a log of all fuel fills with mine since delivery in October 2004. I created an access database that produces various reports. This one is a graph of all the fills dropped into a MS Word file. I live in a country town in WA. The graph shows an obvious distinction between around town and highway driving. Included is a trip across the Nullabor to Melbourne and back. I have done quite a few trips to Perth as well.fuel.doc I drive reasonably conservatively but have been known to give it a bit, particularly when passing road trains - working on the theory of being on the wrong side of the road for a minimum of time. Hopefully this uploads OK because MS Word is not working on this computer
  7. I had mine done a few days ago. Now it has a flat spot in 3rd gear in manual mode at about 60kph. It is going in again tomorrow. Anyone else had this particular issue with the auto?

  9. Yep I think I'll forget about the economy at least until it has settled down a bit and just enjoy the car for what it is. A bloody spirited and comfortale tourer. Looking forward to a round trip of 1200 k's next weekend.
  10. My T is only 500 k's old and the round town fuel economy is pretty ordinary. I noticed that when the engine is cold and presumably with the automatic choke on, the instantaneous readout when driving very sedately is in the order of 25 - 50 litres per 100 k's. The rate drops to a reasonable level after the motor is at normal operating temperature. Is this normal? The exhaust has a fair covering of carbon at the outlet which would indicate the motor running rich. I have given the motor a few runs on the highway to try to clean it out a bit. Thanks in advance.

  13. Did they offer you any discounts on the purchase? Mine is subject to the government fleet discount so no other discount is available under this deal as far as I know. Part of a salary package.

  15. Thanks guys for all the advice. I think the best option is to get pulp from a retail outlet. I realize that the T will run on ulp but hey who wants to sacrifice performance if they don't have to? Certainly a lot of collective wisdom on this site that is worth tapping into. Thanks again.
  16. Is it practical to use an octane booster on standard ulp to achieve the optimum octane level? As a work vehicle I will have access to a company bowser that is only standard ulp.
  17. Welcome 3tl! I didn't realise that the MKII's were starting to be built in October. I thought they started in September to stock up for launch in October but I could be wrong. Did the dealer have samples of the new MKII colours yet?
  18. My first post. Ordered mine today and was pleased to read this topic as I was getting a bit concerned at the negative vibes from some on this site. Getting a mark 2 as part of a work salary package - asked for it not to be built on a Monday or a Friday!! Agonised over the colour but decided on Velocity. A few weeks to change my mind as they don't start building these till October. Long time reader of this site so didn't feel the need for a test drive. All the more to look forward to I reckon. Count down has begun!!
