  1. yeah same,I used a large screw driver. Pull it out on an angle being carful not to puncture the boot.
  2. Im driving a Ba MKII with a 6 speed manual. Getting 12lt per 100km driving aprox 70 km per day,town driving kills the economy big time. I was down in the 11's when travelling 140kms a day. Its easy to stay out of boost (and easy not too ) When I am trying to be conservative I only let it rev out to 2000rpm between changes and can comfortably cruise at 60kmph in 5th cog,pop it into 6th at 80k's.
  3. My brother in law bought a GTP had the same "tappet" noise (guessing the same boss engine), Mechanics told him that those engines a prone to the condition. Not sure on the fix as he got rid of the car a few months after purchase so didnt bother getting anything done.
  4. that's 52 litres per 100ks not 5.2 lol. Must floor it every where or very little highway, When I reset mine it jumped to around 30lt per 100 until I started the highway stuff
  5. Saw a sticker on the back screen of a v8 bommadore on the way to work the other mornin. It read "4.0 eater" (4 litre eater) Made me kinda proud to cruise by him in my T knowing he has worked his larger capacity v8 to have a more powerful car than me

  10. I have also noticed a drop of coolant under the hose feeding the intercooler from the turbo,are there seals or something in the turbo that can go?

  12. might be a good thing, have an excuse to rebuild under warranty. Im sure I have read around the forums that its common in the early t's. I dont think its ok either btw.

  14. Is it possible that the oil cooling the turbo can leak into the coolant cooling the turbo? Is the turbo stuffed or head gasket?
  15. 160000ks when I got it, have had it for 5 months and now has 180000ks. Diff bushes ,lower ball joints, upper control arm bushes and phasor gaskets need doing. But same as above back tyres seem to be wearing quickly in the middle???

  17. I have decided to add a new intercooler to the build(ebay one can go), oil pressure switch(old one doesnt work),cam phasor gaskets(leak),inline turbo oil filter and a service to the list.I am told the new intercooler will add more HP with less boost which cant be a bad thing.
  18. The cooler, CAI aND exhaust are already fitted as stated in the first post, I wanted to get some idea on price without anyone being biased, as im sure some members on here know this guy. The tuner has a good rep. I have had 3 quotes on similar work (both local) the prefered one was the highest and 100km away. Mainly because the other guys I spoke to seemed dodgy or didnt show that much enthusiasm for the job. So.... Valve springs, 42lb injectors,xcal3 + custom tunes,Koni shocks and springs, diff bush replaced. I may still be able to convince the missus that I need an intercooler kit, as the ebay jobby might pop or somethin . I think a stage 2 was mentioned cant remember which brand though
