  1. Yeah I was afraid of that, Sucks living out of the big city sometimes, So with a cooler and a custom airbox with big pod would more than likely need the tune? And the worst that would happen is slight overboost on cold days? or are wel talking engine busting overboost? Thing is though If I put all that on and it really does need a tune.. I gotta drive 400ks with it on running the risk to get the tune.. bloody sucks.
  2. Uh I forgot to mention the new airox with the pod will be in the standard place so I will keep the crossover
  3. Hello All, I am obviously a new bloke in search of that lovely spool/intake noise that we all so love! Now I realise It sounds better with more boost.. But the nearest tuning centre that I would trust with the T is about 400kms away. Im Thinking the best way to get the spool noise with a relatively stock motor and boost levels (T5z BOx) would be to get a decent Brand intercooler with a hard piping kit. A Venting to Atmo BOV ( which I allready have ) and nice flowing filter. WOuld that be the best way to go?? or is there another way? I was planning on: making my own custom intake box with a 4inch by 9 inch pod or similar closed up behind the headlight.. and one of those Half sized 600hp HDI coolers. And I was also planning on replacing some of the intake side of the turbo with hard pipes aswell, not sure if that will help the situation or not. Few questions about that.. Will it need to be on the dyno after those mods? Will that give me my spool noise? Will I gain much horsepower from those mods? Where on earth does the BOV go with the HDI kits? (im running a HKS ssqv that currently sits just above the turbo in a sort of adapter pipe) Sorry if this is in the wrong thread section and also thankyou for your replies. Dave
  4. Thanks for the replies guys, I was thinking that if I kept the stock clutch and get 300wheel hp.. the clutch would slip before the box dies? But anyway roughly how much do the t56s go for these days? ive never actually been able to find one for sale. Also does it bolt straight onto the belhousing , samee clutch arangement, same tailshaft etc? So basically I cant even put an exhuast on there without risk of it munching itself? Thanks again
  5. I did ALOT of research before I bought it.. I bought the 5 sped for numerous reasons.. it was cheaper.. the only one available in our town with a decent running history AND I thought it would be wise to get the 5 sp to resist give it 500 horse power then killing myself from temptation of always wanting to plant the foot.. And I was after 300 horse power at the wheels. The reason I asked how much it had stock I was hoping someone could post a dyno chart.. Because I have seen so many different figures being splurted around.. Just wanted to know if I stuck it on the dyno now, plus or minus 5 hp what would I be looking at? Thanks all
  6. Hello All, I Only just got myself a BA MK1 XR6t, Unfortunately its the 5 sp Manual Now I really would like to know How much Power that box can handle... Id love to give it a few more horses, Plans are; Twin 2 1/2 CatBack exhaust ( anyone recomend a good value for money brand) I Want it noticable but not droney and annoying, Just a nice note with a bit more flow. Vent to Atmo BOV ( recomend a value for money item) Again I would like to hear it.. but not so loud that I have cops following me everywhere. K and N Panel Filter ( or equivelant High Flow Brand ) Flash Tune With 2 or so more Pound of Boost. (anyone recomend a place in South WA for that tune?) Eventually Id also like to upgrade the brakes and get some coilovers so I can stick it on the track.. Would a aftermarket intercooler be necassary? How many horses would I get with the bolt ons before the tune.. and after? Also How many Horses do these actually have at the wheels stock? And the biggest question of all.. Can the 5sp box handle that???!!! Im hoping for 300 at the wheels, Is that a reasonable goal? Thanks for your help everyone.. I appreciate it. Dave
