The tuners in Perth may have one. But that's still 500kms away so I'm again More than like having to fork out a large deposit. Guess I'm going to have to save the pennies and ride my push bike as much as possible. The valve float is getting a bit nasty for my liking. I'm unsure at what kind of damage can be done from that but I don't want to take any Chances

Anyone?

Ive had people throw bottles at me after doing a couple warning brake tests, to think they are stupid enough to just to get close again. I have just returned from indonesia.. now that place has some tailgaters aha!

Hey everyone, I apologize immediately if this has been asked before but I couldnt find anything in the search results. I have come accross a cheap set of genuine BA XR8 Valve springs. Apperently they fit the T aswell and have a better seating pressure. Can anyone confirm on this? Im planing 320 RWKW. Do you think these springs will be adequate? Currently on 270RWKW and my poxy BA springs are getting soft. Well atleast im pretty sure its them. and being short on cash at the moment it seems like a no brainer to buy these if they are a better item. Fast replies would be greatly appreciated as the auction ends soon. Thanks guys, Dave

I reAlise this is a thread dig. But just wanted to say I've modded up it up and am now running 270.8rwkw without anyproblems with the box so far. I am planning on leaving it at that power figure and oneday getting a bf2 or make a project of this one and build my own motor with a t56 bolted up. It's bloody fun to drive now. Reminds me of my old R32 gtr.

Still on the PCV, turns out it was my boost gauge playing up

Hello All, This may seem like a stupid question to you all.. but Im a noob so bare with me.. Had my bumper off to get sprayed last week. and noticed a rather large FPV stamp on my cooler I have a 03 BA MK1 XR6t sedan Does that stamp mean I have scored a slightly bigger cooler or am I just wishing? I ask his Becuase I thought Ford only planted that stamp on the F6s etc Thanks for the replies Dave

Yeah mate, that's what I did earlier and still no change in boost.. a mate of mine with a BA ute said his changes boost randomly a bit aswell for like 4 - 7ish.. Put his boost gauge on too, still same reading maybe a little higher got up to 5 which I guess is normal. still makes me wonder why it was boosting to 6 and a half when I got it :S. Anyway on topic if done about 200ks and there is a pretty good oil film around the lid, and the scourers seem damp so it defianetely is working

Found out today it hits full boost briefly then backs off to 4psi again at WOT at higher speeds and higher gear ( 5th at 110kmh) Anyone got any ideas what this could be? Thanks Dave

Okay guys, Ive installed a catch can onto the rear PCV the other day, And I lost a couple pound of boost.. the car didnt seem any less powerfull but still im a little worried. Would a Fualty PCv cause a boost leak because its connected to the plenum? Would the Can see boost at all? I connected one of the hoses from the can I put on straight to the pcv so it was acting like stock but still only 4-5pound boost. Anyone have any ideas on wht this could be? Im starting to think it may just be my gauge as im sure id loose 20 or 30 horsepower with 2 PSI less boost? The gauge seems to sit about a pound below zero when the engine is off. maybe that's it? Anyway Just trying to figure out what is going on and if anyone has any ideas as to what it could be? Thanks, Dave

Yeah haha the BOV does slap you in the face a bit haha! gonna rig it up to the front breather tommorrow see if I get my boost back.

Heres My setup, Im running of the rear vent because you guys all said that is the main offender, Ive misteriously lost a couple pount of boost on my gauge though.. car doesnt seem any less powerfull, I will recheck the hoses and clamps tomorrow. Bought some 10mm silicon hose at local rubber shop.. Had enough spare to do the brake booster vacuum hose too so it all looks sexy. mocked up a bracket similar to the first post and away I went. My cheap ass can is a little bigger so I had to tighten the left brake booster nut from the top with a open ended spanner which was a pain but still, it all turned out okay. The return line into the plenum has a joiner in it so I just connected up there rather than trying to fit my big hands down in that orafice. Please let me know if I have done something wrong, as im curious as to why my boost gauge is reading a little less.. also the can is making a very audible vacuum noise. Should I put grease on all the threads to try and stop any leaks or is this normal? Been for about a half hour drive. and allready there is a oily film in there.. Unfortunately none of the shops are open so I havent put any scourers in there yet but will do asap!
-
Yeah I was referring to right hand side when looking at the engine from the front.. so left hand side if you say flyway orientation is how its done. Well im glad that's all good then.. Does seem to be very selective though, sometimes quiet sometimes loud, I will keep a ear on it to see if I can find a pattern :S Thanks guys! Oh and its a 03 BAMK1 110kms

Hello All, Im fairly New to this Engine. Just curious as to how loud the injector tick normally is. Ive only had the car a week or so. But at the moment I figured it ticks very selectively, only at idle ussually when warm. Its a very noticable tick coming from the right side of the engine. I havent had a really really good look and listen yet but I was just curious as to wether this is normal or not. Thanks in adavance for your replies. Dave
