  3. thanx for that informative reply. much appreciated
  4. are the tiens a better set up than what dingah mentioned about the king sl springs and bilstein shocks set up. any comments?
  5. thanx guys I will get things checked out. teins a little out of my price range but good tips anyway
  6. thanx for the advice fellas. I think I need to get a little serious. fast red 1 the brakes do not create the shudder it is just the steering wheel shudders @ around 80k/ph. I have done everything and it will not go away. I think I need to get serious and get some good stuff for the handling. ex r six how much is this tien coilover kit? and what is it? is it worth getting? thanx.
  7. thanx for the reply. the car has 55,000 km on it. no dirt roads but will check the pressure on the tyres. the shocks should still be in good nik shouldn't it?
  8. hello everyone. my ba xr6t has been a little bouncy lately and the steering shakes a little. it just does not feel that stable even in a straight line. does anyone have any tips on making the car more stable and just generally better handling wise. would a whiteline swaybar help, would lowering it help, maybe new shocks? does anyone have some good tips and recommentations? has anyone does these mods to their car and has it helped? thanx.
  9. you are kiddin me. the new boxter s is one of the best looking porches, and the thought that it is the poor mans 911 is a retarted opinion. porche have done well with going back to the round front lights with their new range though. any one on this forum who would not give their right testicle to own one is friggin nuts.
  10. it could be your steering rack. there is a TSB on it so this may be it. it needs to be tightened or replaced I think. mine has this too and I will get it fixed next service
  11. I heard that you have to get the europe spec suspension set up which costs about $3,000. the aussie ones come with the USA spec suspension. apparently the europe spec suspension totaly transforms the car to the way it should handle.
  12. this has come up before buddy and the response was that it is exactly the same as the original 3 year warranty. if you plan on keeping the t, as I am, it is definitely worth it. my warranty is up at the end of the year and I will 100% get it.
  13. just a quick update. I went to another tyre place with this OCB machine.it was a larger place with all the machines. they did another wheel balance with the wheels off the car and the guy there told me that my right tyre had a bit of give or something like that and that this may well could be the cause of the shake. as mentioned I have 2 brand new rims and tyres on the front. he told me the left side was perfect and the right rim was perfect but the tyre was off. the lady there said they could have still fixed the shaking but after I mentioned that this was my 3rd wheel blance she decided not to charge me and that next time they would try and get another tyre from dunlop as the one on it appears to be faulty. all in all I have some sort of answer now as to the shake and the next step is to get another tyre from dunlop which will now be next week. she also said that the dunlops on our cars are pretty crap tyres or the bottom end of their range I will keep the guys intersted posted
  14. ford have machined my brakes so all good there. to the guys that have this shake, a performance car should not have a steering wheel shake. I am trying to do everything I can to correct it. I will be going on a on car balancing machine today and see if this resolves the problem will advise of the results tomorrow.
  15. just a quick update. I went back to the tyre place and they rebalanced the wheel .he said that it was not balanced properly last time. he had a drive in it to check for the alignement and told me that the alignement was spot on. anyway, I hit the 80kph mark this morning to check it out and guess what.... still a slight shake. it is a very small but quite quick shake of the wheel if that makes sense. I am lost now. what could it be. I may have to take up ZAP's idea and take it to a proper place as these guys pull the wheels off and balance them separately. I may need an OCB. thanx for the replies. I will keep you guys updated
  16. thanx for that info zap. that might be my last resort.
  17. difficuilt to say if it wants to dart out in diff directions but it does feel a little odd over bumps and such things. also feels a little odd at speed. I do not feel that comfotable with the car at speeds over 80kph. it should not feel this way I know so maybe the wheel alignement is looking good at this stage. I will post my results after tomorrow
  18. the wee accident was me hitting the gutter. I did post up a few months ago. all left side suspension was damaged and was replaced with brand new stuff. the rims are from ford and when they did the job they told me that they only did a wheel balance and not alignement. this may be it. like you said I may try a wheel alignement. not much wear on the tyres. like I said, I am going to the tyre shop tomorrow and may getthem to check it out properly. a wheel alignement may be on the cards. one thing I did do yesterday was, when parked with my steering wheel straight, I noticed my 2 front tyres were slightly off. they were both facing slightly outwards. so the right tyre was facing a little right and the left facing left. maybe the camber is out. this may have something to do with the problem. I will let you know tomorrow
  19. turbotom, these are the same tyres. they are the dunlops to fit the 17" wheels. I also had 2 rims replaced as I got into a wee accident. I did not think they could be inferior imports. it has done it ever since the new tyres and rims were put on. I am going back to the tyre place and see if they can locate the problem, if not I will rotate front tyres to back and if this solves the problem I will know that it is the tyres. if it does not I will go back to the original place where they were put on. thanx for the replies
  20. might be worth it.I will let the tyre place know. thanx
  21. I have changed the tyres, 2 in fact. could this be it?
  22. do you mean the actual wheel or the steering wheel? the tyre place said that it may be the bearings. is this an expensive job?
  23. hello guys and gals I was just wondering, I recently had a wheel balance on the front 2 wheels to fix a slight shake in the sttering wheel @ around the 80-90kph mark this did not fix it. do you think that it could be a wheel alignement issue? anyone else done the balancing to no avail and found the problem to be something else? thanx
  24. thanx for the replies. will keep in mind
  25. hello guys just a quick one, are beaurepairs any good on wheel balances. anyone had any experiences with them. I am getting a steering wheel shake @ around 80 - 100kph and I think it is the balance. are they any good? thanx
