So if Panther GT gets 9 inch rear rims instead of the standard 8 inch rims does this mean legally in Victoria I can put 10 inch rims on my 2010 FG XR6T? From the link below - The width of any replacement rim must not be - more than 25mm greater than the widest wheel specified by the vehicle manufacturer for that model or vehicle series. Would Vicroads just say my car is a not a FPV and say this mod is illegal? http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rdonlyres/CC48FC10-4D57-4F04-82E1-3BD72EF88340/0/VSI8.pdf

Underground Racing At It Again! Uber!

Just bought my lotto ticket..... -
I've got an FG and when I took it to Sandown did a few laps with the traction control/DSC on then I turned it off drove exactly how I was driving the last few laps, hit turn 1 and it spun around so I was facing the wrong way. I would say the DSC was definatley turned off. Turned it back on for the next lap, hit turn 1 again going way too fast and hard into the corner, I could see the DSC light flashing furiously and the car took the corner nicely and didnt spin. Just goes to show how well the DSC actually works.

Newbie With Fg Mkii Turbo On Order..
Simon_h6 replied to fletty's topic in Members Cars and Modifications
Hopefully those issues at Ford at the moment dont cause the date to blow out. -
I also have an FG (30,000K) and my rear pads were worn out on the inner top side almost to the metal but the outer pad had heaps of meat on it. Seems like the caliper doesnt apply very even pressure on the pads.

Panda, You have got me thinking after your post, I never actually saw them doing the service so I am just assuming that they did put in the correct oil, checked the manifold bolts etc. Being Ford and they do the same cars day after day you would hope they know what they are doing! My friend knows a few of the service guys and told them I was coming down so hopefully they did everything correctly. Maybe getting a onsite mechanic is a better option at least you can watch them the whole time to make sure they are not stuffing it up.

I also didnt want to pay $360 for the ford service so I got Lu*e Mobile to come out to my work. I thought this was a good idea as I didnt need to drop the car off anywhere. He really didnt check over things very throughly, didnt take off the wheels to check the brakes etc. Then he tried to put the wrong oil in the car as he didnt have correct one in this van, after I had a argument with him he went and bought the right oil. Took mine to ford for the 30,000 service. Yes the ford service is expensive but at least they check everything properly, put the right oil in, check codes and re-tension the manifold bolts.

Less power and torque but it has 353nm from 2000rpm. Might not be too bad after all. I guess a you would have to take it for a tes drive to compare.

From another website- The Falcon becomes the first rear-wheel-drive vehicle in the world to be equipped with an EcoBoost engine. It scores a unique tune, producing 179kW of power (at 5500rpm) and 353Nm of torque (at 2000rpm). The EcoBoost is half the size of the standard 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine, yet trails it by just 16kW and 38Nm. The I6 engine produces 195kW (at 6000rpm) and 391Nm (at 3250rpm). Our Falcon EcoBoost prototype test drive late last year demonstrated the four-cylinder models were less than two tenths of a second slower than the I6 models (7.22 seconds vs 7.05 seconds). Intriguingly, the Falcon XT is the only model to return the 8.1L/100km economy figure, with the G6 and G6E models officially rated at 8.5L/100km. Ford Australia says this is due to the weight differences between the specification levels.

Supercharged Intake On Fg Xr6T
Simon_h6 replied to Simon_h6's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
Just noticed the KPM thread in the sponsor section in regards to there Street Fighter Airbox and it fits up with no modifications. They are selling it for $595 but I priced it from ford last year for $350, not sure why its so expensive from KPM. -
Supercharged Intake On Fg Xr6T
Simon_h6 replied to Simon_h6's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
Well there you go, nearly a year since I first posted this topic and yes it does fit. I'm surprised it clears the top radiator hose. I wonder what mods if any they had to make to the intake to get it to fit.
