Heya Corty77 sorry for the late reply Im in the same boat as RSWEPN apparently we are only monitoring the absolute essential things we need to and mainly from a bunch of mechanical gauges to let us no oil pressure, trans temp etc. Mechanic said he wasnt gonna even try run the factory sensors sorry man :-/.

  7. To be honest mate im not 100% sure but im pretty certain you can. Ill have a chat in the following days with the engine builder and see exactly whats going on. Cos basically We are getting all the info Boost, air/fuel, water temp, oil pressure, revs etc etc and I know we didnt buy that many sensors. So yeah ill keep you posted.
  8. We are using the ems 8860 ecu with a digital dash data logger and sensors that were supplied by ems as well. For the complete ECU setup and dash etc its been under 5K which I know is still a fair bit but when compared to some motec stuff its not so bad. ( the ecu and sensors was about 2k) It is a full race car however so things like speedo etc arnt important to us.
  9. Hi mate, we are almost finished doing a Capri conversion at the moment, have gone aftermarket ECU, fitted VCT lockouts from Atomic and Cable throttle body from Plazmaman. Much easier way to go cos it eliminates Fly By Wire and Variable Cam Timing and it opens up a lot more after market ECU's and your not restricted to just the BIG dollar management systems.

You are right Ale like I said in a previous post though the buggy my mechanic built with the ls2 runs a motec and is tuned by this fella troy who has also tuned the big injectors on other applications. I mess around with jet saying its cos of him that I want motec but I am grateful of the questions he's been asking. Hopefully this is just a stepping stone onto bigger things with the full chassis car and much bigger application so gotta look at the bigger picture too. Having said that I've done way too much over so long to jump into anything without research n thought we may well change our minds once or twice on ecu choice by the end of the build. As for meth we have talked about that too and again its on the cards at a later date but we still wanna give e85 a go first. And Alex if I do go bigger I can tell u one place my turbo wont be going and that's to you ....
  14. Hehe ford_boy dont u worry ive found out at least the first 2 quickest xr6's are using nitrous so yes that's on the table too but not what we are gonna try straight up. I still wanna run the c4 cos these guys are running two speeds so mine should still theoretically get up on boost quicker in first gear. All else fails we have a transbraked powerglide ready. And worst case if its not meeting our expectations the block out of my white taxi might get pumped full of goodies with a bigger turbo whacked on . I dunno its a sickness it never really stops once you start so who knows where it will go. As long as I get to enjoy this one a lil longer than the last.
  15. Yeah nah that's awsome Aaron I was loving the questions u asked cos I didn't have to, your a champ dude .... And the 1800hp cooler is the first one that came to mind wen I realised my 1000hp one had a split in it. Was peters idea to go water to air but again for all out racing I was wondering if it was really worth it when u don't really ever do back to back runs anyway.

  18. So were clear I definately ain't a p plater not for about 10 yrs lol and that was spoolax's car in the pic I'm guessing from when he was a young cub ... And ive been following what jet n Spiro have been talking bout too its actually what swayed me towards the motec... Thankyou Aaron . Does anyone no if there is any great advantage going water to air instead of air to air intercooling for pure drag racing?
  19. Hehe soon jetstar soon.... the car is completely gutted man the weight that has come out just from interior is incredible. When it goes in for the cage, racing seat, tubs n rear end ill start posting up pics. Oh and its gonna run motec with the digital dash etc not putting any of the interior back in at all no factory dash, aircon, roof lining trims etc etc... This month of waiting is gonna drag on big time! Damn matty it was a sh*t hot colour still...

  21. Missed your apology post up there Aaron lol .... But yes Mr gagliardi is entrusted with all the motor work again I am getting much more hands on and dismantling the orange thing has given me a bit more knowledge. My engine has stood up through a lot of botched tuning attempts before going to Bruce and I know first time around brucy gave it a good go too lol and I still couldn't be happier so Pete is the man. I'll fit all the fuel system, gauges, shifter n stuff like that but leave the important stuff to him. As far as the computer its gonna be either motec or haltec which ever gives us more scope and range to play with. Pete has a fella that tunes the LS 2 in a fink truck he built with a motec system this guy is based in Adelaide but flies around the country his name is troy I think we are gonna have a chat with him first... Another thing does anyone run or no of water to air intercoolers for ba-bf he said I should look into running one seeing as we are going all out??

  23. I hear ya fluff and I agree again under the circumstances it couldnt have happened any better. And yes white it is will look practically exactly the same as my orange one but white .
  24. Play nice jetstar u might hurt my feelings lol..... I have ups and downs excited about the new build and the prospect of chasings really quick quarter mile times but I look back on the last five years and the money, time, stress and effort that went into it and for it to all end without even enjoying it or getting to see even any of its potential is so disappointing. At three different stages I could have stopped and it still would have been one of the nicest/fastest BA's out there but it was never enough had to keep chasing the rabbit down the hole to speak. It didn't deserve to end up like it did. But anyways it still tought Me to stop screwing around on the the street pull my head in and do it properly I couldn't distinguish the line between street car and race car. Now I'm running the right marathon.... 23rd of july booked in for an 8.0 certified cage hehe once the ball is rolling ill make sure it rolls Damn fast ... Oh and yeah burnouts are gaaaaay unless your warming up your slicks or laying skids at powercruise or something.

Im not posting any up yet cos its just a basic sad white car right now Anyone no roughly what xr leather interior goes for now days?? Have to start selling some bits premium sound etc etc??
