Its manual but holy god theres no way this can be normal its a constant thud thud thud thud while driving, does this sound familar or?

It drives fine just makes this clunking noise, if it is whats the damage to fix it

I went and had a look at a fg xr6t, the guy had a little prang nothing to major, but the main issue is when driving it makes a massive continuous clunking noise. He said a mechanic told its the tail shaft. Sometimes while driving it went but most of the time it was this real bad clunking noise wasnt coming from engine bay but rather well it seamed under the console, if anyone has any ideas thatd be great.
