  1. For anyone interested, warranty work done today at 7,700km: Replaced water pump o-ring and refilled Reattached rubber strips in drivers window, to stop a big 'clunk' when lowering window on Auto on occasions Did something to handbrake cable (looked like it said "fraying", but the writing was crap) to stop the handbrake warning light coming on occasionally while moving De-glazed brakes (rears only, I think, but could be wrong) to fix the squealing and 'rubbing' noise from rears occasionally (will believe that one in a week or so) Did something to the steering rack as it was 'noisy' (hadn't noticed, personally). Something about 'chamfering'.... And, they washed and detailed the car, even though it was badly 'bugged' after a SW run over Christmas. Well done, Titan Ford! Simon.... PS: Sorry for the non technical stuff, but you get that!
  2. Judging by the fact that the coolant level is down to just below the half way mark again, after I put in almost a litre on Monday last, I think it's probably as has been suggested, the infamous water pump O-ring. I'll book it in today. BTW: VIK351, I have got used to it, doesn't mean I've got to let the dealer / Ford off so easily, do I? :-) Thanks guys, Simon....
  3. Thanks guys, it is definately not condensation :-) It's green, with a slightly "oily" feel. I was going to the dealer anyway, gonna b**ch about sqealing brakes / rubbing handbrake etc, so will do all at once. Why's it dripping from so far back though? It's further back than the entire engine bay!! Cheers, Simon....
  4. Won't go into the 'freebies', but have a chat to Titan Ford in Leach Highway, Melvile. If you want a name, ask for Chris Preedy. Have fun. No, I'm not associated with either the dealer, or Chris, just a happy customer. Above and beyond.
  5. Hi all, I have rcently found that I have a fluid leak and would like a hand identifying what it is from. It looks like radiator coolant, but drips from the centre line, in-line with the wing mirrors, so I can't understand that? I have also just had to top up the coolant, as it was down to the MIN level. Any ideas? Simon....
  6. Just went outside and checked: Ave 19.2l/100km, 260km on the trip and and average speed of 28km/h - I zero all trip meter functions when I fill up. This is city driving, it's a 15km trip to the office each day, plus some extra running around. I don't drive it hard, most of the time, either, so I don't know how you guys get 16's. Simon....
  7. Mine does that too, ocassionaly. Adds to little list of things to do when it next goes in after the new year, like ocassionaly leaking coolant.

    Good New Stories

Likewise - as it stands now. Once I sorted out the electrical issues after delivery, no problems.
  9. Excellent photo....

    Premium Brakes

I can't wait! Went for a drive yesterday to pick up the moggie after being away for a month and that was the only thing that pissed me off. A darn sight better than the Pontiac Aztec I was driving in the US Simon....
  11. Hi all, I've been having a browse through the web-site http://www.blaupunkt.com.au and there are a lot of broken links, 'Falcon' or 'BA' don't come up in the search engine. Any chance of giving the link to the specific products we're interested in? I'm interested too, but it would have to be a 'reasonable' price. Simon....
  12. Plonky, Trust me, the largely silent majority are law abiding, respectful of others and are intelligent human beings as well as possessing the attributes you mention. Unfortunately, the minority are just louder, therefoe have a higher profile and are generally the type of people that you are exposed to by the nature of your job. Don't forget us, we're definately out there! Lightning....
  13. Me too. Am I the only one who downloaded the PDF and read it from cover to cover (several times) before I even got the car? I won't go into detail about taking the real one to bed with me
  14. In my AUII XR6, I used to be able to do Perth to Augusta return in 1 tank (just, would have to fill up the next morning). I have to fill up in Bunbury on the way back now :( So yes, I'd prefer a bigger tank too, mainly so that I don't get screwed paying inflated prices for Premium fuel outside the metro area. Lightning....
  15. I'd probably be interested in a plain one.
  16. 3? So the 4th I got was a bonus? :D
  17. I go along with the other guys, the sunroof is great, premium sound is a must (you get free globe holders for the foorwells too), the premium brakes are (IMO) a must too. Leather's great, satnav's a waste for me (didn't buy it) and the rest (mats etc) you may be able to get as thow ins :-)
  18. Make sure that pre-delivery check a) The connection from the alternator to the battery, at the alternator. Is it done up? B) Check the earths near the lights under the bonnet, are they tight too? Lightning....
  19. Never thought I'd say it, but "photo's!!!!"

    Premium Brakes

I've done nearly 3000 km in mine and the squealing brakes are DRIVING ME MAD! Sure, a hose down every second morning makes it go away, but it's not good enough. This didn't happen when brand new, so I don't believe the compound thing. I will be rasing it with the dealer at the 3000 km service. Cheers, Lightning....
  21. Totally agree (but I don't care about the beeps), the light comes on at around 80km's left - get real and there is heaps left when I fill it up at 30 or 40 km's to go. The AUII XR was a lot better. Lightning....
  22. Great colour, I have no regrets at all. Have washed it several times and have only noticed 1 or 2 MINOR marks, the dealer wants to replace the rear skirt at the 3,000km mark because of 'mismatch', but I can't see it, so I'm going to tell them not to bother. Lightning....
  23. It is definately thicker than the Momo in the AUII XR, took me a little while to get used to it being fatter. The steering wheel, you deviates! :biggun: Lightning....
  24. Interestingly, it rained yesterday in Perth and the problem no longer exists today after I went for a drive in the rain. Hmmm.
  25. Welcome to the forums! I wish I had a brother like yours Lightning....
