Hi, The subject doesn't quite explain it... I have had a new tyre put on the passenger rear wheel due to accident damage. The other 3 tyres are 16 months old (17,000km). Should I take the spare out of the boot and replace the drivers rear wheel with it to balance things up somewhat? :banghead: Lightning....

Very nice, I know just how much you're enjoying yourself!

Hehe... Am I happy? I reckon I'm happier than a new T owner! I took a workmate home tonight (working back late - typical bloody IT) and he said "Mate, it's just like having a new car all over again!". He's damned right, they fully detailed it, plus a healthy dose of "new car smell" and it's like my 16 month old HgAg T is 29km old! No scrapes... A new start Lightning (still wiping that stupid grin off my face) ...

Well, picked up my car this morning and.... I AM BLOODY STOKED!!!! It looks better than before it got creased. The alloys look brand new, including getting the scrapes fixed that I'd done myself previously  I haven't bothered with photo's yet as it's immaculate. I am as happy as a pig in It took me about 200m to get used to the bloody smooth clutch and bloody smooth accellerator. I've been driving a friends Feroza on and off over the last 2 weeks. I am really impressed with their work, the paint looks seamless (the fact that it is seamless may have something to do with it), will take some photo's this weekend. Lightning....

Yeah, I am considering getting them to put the spare on the other side to the new one (I suspect it's the front left they replaced) and have the used one as the spare. It does sound like BS, but I am just happy to get my T back, so will probably cough and then hassle them later. I am also considering ringing the personally to say "Why don't you answer their calls and letters, it will only make it harder if you don't", but I probably won't do that either My arse is going to be welded to that seat this weekend. Mate, I feel for ya! Strength to you....

Yummm, marshmallow.... Ummm.... It was marshmallow, wasn't it? Thanks all! I got another surprise phone call this afternoon. "By the way, we forgot to tell you, we had to replace a tire and HBF say you need to pay 30% towards it, so please bring another $101 dollars with you". "Why?", I said. "Because the tire that was damaged wasn't 'as new' [ie: it was worn], therefore you have to pay a percentage towards replacement" "Oh. Bugga. Okay, thanks". -click- Checks policy document. Hmmm, can't find anything about that. Guess I'll be ringing them tomorrow before I can take the car away. Also, I have a problem with paying my excess just because the who hit me isn't returning HBF's phone calls or letters. The policy just states that: "You can satisfy us that the accident which led to the claim was entirely the fault of the driver of another motor vehicle, and You can advise the name and address of the other driver, and You can provide the registration number of the motor vehicle at fault, or ... stolen ... - not relevant" So, I have done 2 and 3, so does that mean that they're not satisfied I was not at fault? Why do I have to wait until they send the collection agency around? Sheez. Anyway, thanks for the tips all, will do. Will also take camera. Lightning.... Vrooom....

Hi all, You may remember my woes of a few weeks back... Well, I got an unexpected call this morning to tell me that my car was ready to be collected at 4:30pm today. As overjoyed as I am, the timing was inconvenient, so I can't get it until tomorrow morning as I have to juggle returning a car I have borrowed off a friend. Anyway, you lot don't care about that. The interesting thing about this, is that it's 2 weeks early. Hmmmm. Will have a GOOD look over it tomorrow. Any hints as to what I should check for the damage I had? (panels down the full length of the left hand side). Woohoo! I think I may knock off early tomorrow!

I was sent a PowerPoint presentation today which contained about 4 photo's of a freeway in Sydney during the hailstorm. It looked to me as if it was the city end of the Sydney Harbour Bridge freeway, and was absolutely amazing. If I didn't know better I'd have said it was snow. The traffic behaviour was amazing. I was stunned. It also showed some amazing lightning photo's.

I really only ever use the '1' and '2' buttons. One of them opens it to full tilt, the other opens it all the way flat and turning off the ignition closes it automatically unless I push one of the big buttons before it starts to move. Simple really.

I guess it's called supply and demand. Get rid of the demand and the supply then doesn't have anywhere to sell it to. I've heard horror stories about the amount of money spent by the 'recreational' drug market.

Although it's tempting, yes I do know where she lives, I am a law abiding (usually), decent (again, usually!) citizen and wouldn't do anything to her or her property. Seriously. I will have to suffice with dreams of revenge. At the risk of getting you off side, if you were serious in your suggestion, that's what's wrong with society these days Lightning....

I agree, I have it and prefer it to the standard wheel. However, I still stand by my statement that the Momo wheel from the AUII XR was the best. I still miss that steering wheel Lightning....

Mate, I feel for you. Really I do. Yours sounds worse than mine, in almost the same circumstances by the sound of it, so I hope you don't have to wait as long as me. You , at least you got a hire car!

Dazza, I can't believe you said that! Did you ensure that the doll was not able to be used by anyone else? You gotta be responsible with them, you know. If I prang the loaner, I will send a certain young lady your way. She can be pretty mean! Lightning....

And, from the pages of "There's always someone worse off than you".... When I dropped the beast off this morning, there was a green T auto, with front end damage (looking like the radiator was cactus. Apparently another car had hit the front end, with the corner of their car. Didn't look driveable. The reason for my 1st line above? Only 900km's on the clock. Poor bas*ard! Lightning.... PS: A friend is lending me her car for this week. It's great having good friends, huh?

TurboDewd, I don't know if you're going to get very far with this poll. I, for one, really couldn't give a about the US government. I when I constantly hear "George Bush this, george Bush that..." on the TV or the radio.

I believe you, was taking the p*ss, actually :o The car goes in on Monday, then the 4 week countdown :o I should go overseas for a holiday! Lightning....

Sorry to hear the sad news, I definately feel for you. You must have been ropeable at 03:16am....

To whoever said "Things always happen in three's....": I HATE YOU! :cussing: (Doh: Was 2 posts back, was Turb06) I cut a corner a bit too much the other night on the way home (normally wait for both lanes clear at this T junction, but for some reason I didn't that night) and "scraaaappppe" from the left-hand rear wheel. Bugga. Big time. Was fuming all the way home. However, , it wasn't too bad and was on the same wheel that's getting repaired already, so... Anyway, I now hope that's it for the next 20 years. Lightning....

Thanks Scootre, I will be calling them tomorrow. The couple that I went to yesterday were closed. It's a fine scratch, I didn't notice it yesterday, but ... then I did... Lightning...

Thanks Turb06, I was trying to ignore that fact Lightning....

Hi Zeke, Yeah, car is still driveable (except when I hit a big dip or go over speed bumps). However, my biggest problem is time and pride. I simply don't have the time to run a round and panel shop (haha). As for pride, it makes me cry every time I go out to the car port. Sometimes I think I should reverse in, so that I don't see the damage... Anyway, I figured I'd just suffer and sponge off friends. A cute work collegue leaves nearby, so... Oh, it's also starting to rust.

Have done a quick Internet search and looks like I'll be visiting my local windscreen repairer tomorrow morning. Will take their advice as to whether I get it fixed now or get it done when the car's returned to 'as new'. Lightning....
