Guys and girls, I pay my XR insurance quarterly ('cos I can't budget for ), but last month when I went in to pay, I was assured it wasn't due until January as there had been a double payment. The lady took great pains to assure me that I was covered until then. Imagine my shock when I get a letter in the mail today telling me that my policy had expired due to 'non-payment'. It turns out that the office was wrong and that I was indeed "at fault" for not paying when it was due. So, I have just spent the last 20 minutes renewing the thing and carrying over the details. I expressed my dismay at the circumstances that may have occured if: - I'd had an accident or the vehicle was stolen in the last month - I didn't receive the letter I got today and something happened before January ... however, although I got an apology, it was basically my fault as I believed that a payment was due and didn't pay it. I should have got it in writing. So, be warned, IF IN DOUBT: Check your insurance is valid and current! PS: $221.80 for 3 months - 60% NCB and 'Advantage Driver' policy on a May 2003, as in the signature below.
