  1. I've just received a multanova infringement for 126 km/h in a 110 km/h zone. Now, the thing is I regularly drive that stretch of road and am always on cruise control of 110 and just can't fathom how I could have been doing over 125 km/h. Now, $100 is $100 and if I was speeding so be it and I would normally take it on the chin and just pay it, but I don't reckon this is a fair cop. Anyone had any similar experiences and has challenged it? I guess it's just my word against technology and I suspect I wouldn't win. Yours dejectedly, Lightning....
  2. Bastards have sent me an infringement notice for allegedly doing 78km/h in a 70 zone. Now, I vaguely recall seeing a beast on its little tripod in roughly the area that it was said to be (just after the 90 zone changes to a 70 zone, IIRC), but I didn't see its beady little flash didn't go off... I think I'd just zipped around some grandad doing 60 or so and thought "Phew". Bastards, that's all I can say. Why don't you see 'em out in the 110km/h zone where all the head-ons occur and people get killed? I guess I have to cop it sweet seeing as I probably was just over the limit, but you gotta say it's hardly a deterent when I get it 3 weeks after the alleged offense and can only just remember the circumstances. Lightning....
  3. Thanks guys, will check it out today while out and about Lightning....
  4. Anyone heard any updates on this? I'm down to half a tank and just want to know if I can stop 'worrying' (not that I'm losing sleep or anything) about where my next fill is going to come from.
  5. Thank goodness for PVR's. Just added "Top Gear" to my PC list of recordings to set for the Topfield. Noticed that Rockwiz is back on SBS on Saturday nights too. Yay!
  6. If you're running low in Perth, go for a drive south. Filled up (well, topped up) once on the way down to Augusta and twice on the way back. Noticed that Main and Hutton BP had covers on all the PULP pumps on the way past. Lightning....
  7. [laugh] You got it! Lightning....
  8. He's outrside having a smoke!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't smoke. I'm ancient, not stupid And, phantomchic, yes I do, thanks! Lightning....
  9. I am thankful and I know what you're going through, been there - done that. Sorry to hear about it and I feel for you. Lightning....
  10. Geez, didn't hear about this until tonight and this was just after I filled up with PULP. I've got a 600km drive this weekend, hope I can fill up on the way back. Amazing how a situation like this can occur. Lightning....
  11. Thanks Redhawk, I feel better now. Now, I wonder why you can't buy those beers in LiquorLand??? Lightning....
  12. Hehe, you've got nice fur too, I bet? What the hell's a "house cart"? Lightning....
  13. 1) I stongly object to Coles selling frozen cauliflower and brocolli that's made in China. 2) I WILL pay more for products made in Australia, IF I have the choice (and I often don't). 3) I WILL pay more for a better quality product, again, IF I have the choice. 4) My cat likes the Dine biscuits with the green stripe and none of the others, but they're hard to find. 5) My cat likes another type of tinned food and not too many others, but it's hard to find again. All of you must buy the $1 packets in foil... 6) I liked and regularly bought the large bottles of Nudie fruit juice (see #2 and #3). But they've stopped stocking it at the ONLY supermarket that I found it in. 7) I am awake to and object to the downsizing of packaging for products like cereal and biscuits yet sell for the same price. I believe in kids standing up for adults on public transport. 9) I believe in discipline (physical, within reason) as a child - didn't do me too much harm! That'll do, before I upset myself too much. Lightning....
  14. Guys, will just do a quick response... The car that 'hit' me was an old one, didn't check it's tyres, but I suspect they've now got a smooth flat spot. I've done defensive driving courses too and am not convinced that threshold braking or (can't remember the 2nd type) 'lock and release' will beat ABS for stopping distance. Wasn't about to test it last night. I wasn't doing 80 in a 60 zone, maybe 40 in a 60 zone, if that. Traffic conditions didn't allow any faster. The wet road contributed to the ABS firing, I doubt it would have otherwise. Oh yeah, I did have a prang last year. The entire LHS panels, bonnet, front and rear bumpers were replaced. Still haven't got my damned excess back. Simon....
  15. Hi guys, Was driving home down a wet road near PMH in Perth this evening, the queue in front seemed to slow suddenly and I leant on the brakes... Hmmm, need more... must stop quicker... push harder, ABS came on for a sec or so. Stopped in time. Looked in rear-view... Dammit, it's not going to stop... Wack in back Pulled round the corner, had a look. No major damage (small scrape and minor scuff marks that look like they'll polish out), but the very bottom-most skirting (where the towbar cutout is) has separated from the main bumper and the holes won't relocate, looks like some plastic plugs have sheared. Will take it in to a panel shop tomorrow. Pisses ya off, dunnit? Lightning....
  16. My Premium's haven't squealed since I got the pads replaces under warranty Simon....
  17. Hiya. I've checked the invoice / report again, no mention of the extra hours. I confirm that the brake fluid change was $58.93 for labour. "Carry out power brake fluid service. Inspect and adjust front and rear brakes, drain master cylinder and clean. Refill with new fluid and bleed system" Total Parts was $17.62, total labour was $195.16 and total sundry was $70.40. I will have a read of the manual and may ask them the question, including their rate. Cheers, Lightning....
  18. Absolutely, just a guy off the street (I bought it off them, but other than that...) Lightning....

  20. Hiya, Thought some others may be interested in the work done and the costings for my 30,000 service that was done today. I did some checking last night to get an idea of pricing. So, when I booked the car in, I was told the service was $180. Excellent. Then I was told that there was a recommended tire rotation, balance and alignment and did I want it. Yup, they showed me the wear on the outsides of the fronts. Fair enough. Then I got a phone call advising that they'd neglected to tell me about the recommended brake and clutch fluid replacement every 2 years. Again, fair enough (sounded plausible to me), so told 'em to do it. So, the grand total was $311.50 $163.64 for the 30k ($81.69 labour, 11.55 oil filter, 50.40 oil, misc 20.00) $18.18 for the rotation and balance $36.36 for the alignment $65.00 for the brake fluid service (58.93 labour, 6.07 fluid) And then add 28.32 GST for Johnnie. So, all in all, I am happy. Don't know if they changed the clutch fluid though, will check that tomorrow?? They also performed a recall PRGC 309 "re routed vacume (sic) hoses as per recall instructions" - don't know what that's about but they told me about it in advance. Oh, they also replace the gear knob as the leather surround was freely rotating after they'd replaced the leather boot last time under warranty (cracking). They checked for a squeak around the drive belts that's gradually getting worse that is present for about 5 mins when cold (NFF, lubricated belts) I guess the moral of the story is that they kept me informed, were helpful and cheery and they have a happy customer who'll go back again. Hope this helps anyone else out with an up and coming 30,000 service. Seeya, Lightning....
  21. Interesting, thanks Steve. I've been thinking of changing back to Centre Ford as they're a LOT more convenient and my normal dealer couldn't fit my 30,000 service in on Tuesday as they only had a "0915 slot" and I needed to get the courtesy bus at the only time of 0800. Hopefully CF have improved since I last used them (about 3 years ago). Lightning....
  22. According to my handheld GPS, when I'm doing 117km/h, I'm actually doing 110km/h. Lightning....
  23. CSI, sorry to hear about your baby and also think you're damned lucky looking at those photo's. I know how you feel, but mine was repairable. Cheers, Lightning....
  24. Many thanks all, will book it in and get it looked at. I actually reported it a while ago and even took it in one evening so they could have it when cold the next day "No fault found". Well, it's got a fault now. Lightning...
  25. Thanks guys. Okay, so this is now another "It's happened to me too" item? Sheez. I guess it's another trip to the dealer. I'm beginning to regret my decision to let my south of the river dealer continue warranty work when I live NOR and work in the city. Anyone got any comments on Centre Ford these days? Lightning....
