I'll add another IT role to the pot. I work for a rather large mining company (global) and am supervisor for a global Service Desk that works on a 'follow the sun' basis. Staff in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, London and Salt Lake City. And yes, I have been to all sites, courtesy of work, except London which is coming soon. Started off with PC's many years ago, moved to servers and now play with supporting global Exchange, AD and networks. I need to get a map on my wall with all the countries I've dealt with in the last 9 months Glad I don't pay my mobile bill! Simon....

Thanks, cvanxr, you've settled my mind a little. What options did you have on the AUII? I've just told the dealer to add the Premium brake kit to my BA as I'm afraid I'll miss it. Simon....

We were chatting at work the other day. Was quite surprising those of us who were brought up on The Magic Roundabout with Dougal and Zebedee (sp?). And, remember "Why is it so?". <sigh> Simon.....

Looks exactly like the one I have now, except the control buttons are different. From the owners manual, there seems more flexibility as well, as far as pre-setting opening positions. Looking forward to it. Simon....

Excellent news. Sleeping well? Simon....

I agree. I've seen the normal one in a car and the momo one in a box. I prefer the normal one. The momo one looks too much like a cricket ball for me. Don't like the little grooves around it either. Hence the reason I like the standard knob Simon....

Carpet Mats x4 Mob Phone Presenter (inc rewiring and integration of existing car kit) Scuff plates Tinting Mudspats I'm sure they're making up for it Simon....

I liked the Phantom too, but just felt a little too 'out there' for me. So, I went for the slightly more conservative colours. Saw the metalic samples of the new colours today, Blood Orange and Lime Green (not sure of the names). They each lasted 2 seconds out of the protective envelopes! Yuk. Each to their own. I'll also be the first to admit that the colours look different on a car! I didn't think I'd go the silver from the brochures, but was a brief decision in the showroom where I could compare. Cheers, Simon....

Chris is in the dilbert cubicle next to Grenville, IIRC. The service department certainly got a good rapp from Chris. I was a little concerned as it's so far from the city, and the other side of the river from where I live. Will give them a go, seems like they've a few options (from the courtesy bus, to the loan car, to Chris' car). Yes, I was impressed. A pleasure to deal with. See you soon! When's your expected delivery? Saw a Phantom ute loaded on a trayback for the trip up to Hedland while I was there. Anyone here? B) Simon....

Excellent! Slightly different coloured twins! Hehe. My only teetering point (and hence the trip for a 2nd test drive today, but they'd sold the demo vehicle!) was I love my existing XR so much. However, Chris said to me "Mate, you'll like the new one more than the current one, I'll bet my house on it. If you don't I'll buy it back off you! I won't have any problems selling it!". That was good enough for me. I knew I'd do it, was only postponing the inevitable Simon....

Apologies if you've already read this on Fordforums, but as I got some info from here too: Well, in an effort to cheer myself up, I did it. "New Ford BA Falcon XR Sedan, 4.0L 240KW Turbo DOHC VCT" Options: Prestige Paint - Mercury Silver Leather Premium Sound Sunroof Sports steering wheel Freebies: Carpet Mat set (Red - XR) [to match the stitch in the leather] Mobile phone presenter Scuff Plate Kit (XR Logo) Window Tint Reinstall of Mobile Phone Kit (Integrate into Premium Sound) Mudspats Thanks to Titan Ford, Melville for a satisfying first new car buying experience. Chris was honest, up front and easy to deal with. Recommended. Expecting an end of April delivery. I got a $30,000 trade-in on my existing XR6. Will get a SIDO in the next week or so. They're doing the March / April allocations next week, I was told. Chris told me that he thinks he's going to stop pushing XR's soon, apparently it won't be long before it's a July delivery and he reckons the average buyer won't accept it. He was saying that it's a problem with bodykit production (volume) that's causing the delay, but I don't know. April / May suits me (rego due in April, warranty expires in October), so doesn't bother me. So, another one joins the club. Thanks to the members here and fordxr6turbo.com for information, answering of questions and suggestions (ie: The mudspats were a last minute add-on). Here's to you! Simon.... :grininvasion:

Yes, I'm 100% on the colour. Phantom was good, as was Narooma Blue, but Mercury Silver's the long term colour for me. To respond to someone else's brake dust statement, I'm with you! I have black marks in my carport from where the front wheels sit and I've washed the front rims time and time again, getting rid of the dust. $900 worth of dust... :o Simon....

Haha, yes, I agree. I like Premium Brakes too, I like side airbags, I like SatNav, but they missed out too (unfortunately). I don't like the rumours of a longer delay though :( Simon....

I've got 17's on my current car, I know how much the rubber costs (had to replace the SP9000's recently) and don't even want to think about the increase of 18's over 17's. Simon....
-
Don't know about you guys, but I'm sticking with the 17's. They look pretty good to me! Simon....

Not sure if anyone else is interested, but here are 2 pic's I got from my dealer. First, the standard 17's (oops, that's massive, lets try this):

I will, believe me. I'm going to take another drive early next week. The guy I'm dealing with isn't working this Saturday. I'm pretty sure I have the specs worked out, just have to sort out finance and insurance quotes to make sure I don't get any nasty surprises. Cheers, Simon....

Check out http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...ct=ST&f=9&t=473 if you haven't already. Sounds like the answer to my question regarding a turbo timer Simon....

I currently own a manual AUII XR6 VCT. My previous car was an auto EL Futura. I drove the BA XR6T auto on Tuesday and was more impressed than I thought I would be. I loved the Sequential Shift Swhatever. But, I drove a manual last night and, as per my posts on FF, it only took me a couple of minutes to decide to get the manual. Why? (These are my opinions only and should be treated as such, your views may vary of course) Because it's more fun. Because the clutch is lighter than the AUII. Because the gearbox feels better. Because I, in the back of my mind, prefer a manual. Because I enjoyed it more. Just because. Simon....

This is exactly what the FPV dealer told me yesterday. Apparently, they had quite a discussion with Ford about it at the Drive Day. Simon....

Check out this topic: Which Steering Wheel? Ummm, I started that post too Thanks for the heads up though, excellent response to my 2nd post, thanks all. Simon....

Thanks to all who have contributed, my mind's made up - Sports. I still prefer the look of my current one though! Simon....

Excellent, thanks heaps. It's looking like the 'Sports'. Simon....
