Not mine...all or nothing RTFM, it's in there That's how I found it. I looked up "sqealing brakes", but couldn't find that.
-
Maybe this will stop my sqealing (Or, to be more accurate, the bloody brakes' squealing)

Hi guys, I don't accept this. I had Premium Brakes on my AUII XR6 and didn't have this problem, so I can't accept it's a brake dust buildup issue, generic to the brakes. I can, however, accept that it's a "feature" with these particular brakes and, if this is the case, I will be in contact with PBR as it is simply unacceptable. Lightning...

I find this amazing. So, we just accept it? It's downright embaressing. Are their after market pads that are better? Lightning....

Hi all, I have the Premium brakes and just over 2000 km on the clock. Recently, the brakes have started to squeal when applying the brakes lightly (stopping at lights, turning corners etc). If I let off a little, they stop (but then there's not enough braking), if I increase the pressue it stops (but then I go through the windscreen). I have 2 questions: 1) What causes this? 2) Can it be fixed? (Yeah, yeah.... I mean will they fix it under warranty) Lightning....

Congratulations on your order! Now it just gets worse. Looks like you got just about every option except the SatNav B) Lightning....

I was driving an AUII XR6 VCT, that's how I survived the wait! B) Enjoy your holiday.

Hmmm, when you compare the current #1 (Em) and the #2 (Farita), it isn't hard for me to work out who to give the 5 points to. Another one done, from a fellow Perth-ite. Lightning....

Excellent question and I don't want to think about it :( Though, I'm not sure how easily these things would have been to find in advance. I will be, however, writing to Ford to express my disatisfaction with their QC. Lightning....

Ken, as your almost sister car driver, the wait will be worth it. The Mercury Silver looks so cool and the Premium's are excellent too. I'm looking forward to giving mine a run this weekend down to Augusta. Lightning....

For those interested, it was apparently 2 earths behind one of the headlights (sorry, going from memory) that were loose. They also checked that everything else was tight and have advised their PD guys (pre-delivery, I am assuming) to check both the alternator to battery lead and those earths. Lightning....

Hehe, yeah. I'll happily do without it though Booked in with the dealer tomorrow. As it happened on the way home tonight, I suspect it's a loose wire somewhere, we'll see.
-
Agreed. The only problems I've had have been electrical and it's booked in for a check-up tomorrow. It's an intermittent fault that comes and goes. I forget all about it when I get in it to drive (unless my headlights flash on and off as they did tonight on the way home!) Don't hesitate, as the others have said, I don't think there are any major drama's. Lightning....

Strange, the shift feels fine to me. But, that's coming from the AUII XR6 which, IMO, had a pig of a shift! The number of times I couldn't change down at a stop without effectively doube-declutching. I love this shift, it feels great. I also don't have the musical windscreen, just the whine of the turbo Lightning....

I doubt it's an early one, it was an April build :( I'll leave it up to the dealer to diagnose. That's their job. Sorry, I didn't mean to sound patronising there, but I don't want to go putting ideas into their heads. They have 4 days to sort it before I need it for a 630km trip. Lightning....

Whatever it is, I suspect it may be a loose cable (again). I had a fiddle under the bonnet this morning (found the legendry rubber band, 2 in fact), removed the headlamp fuses and the things still come on when locking and unlocking the car. However, at one point, it went back to normal. I started the car and it went weird again. At one point, I gave up and dropped the bonnet, locked the car and all 4 indicators worked, as per normal. You beauty, I said. Locked and unlocked half a dozen times and then went back to being 'wierd'. I'll be calling the dealer tomorrow and getting it collected from my house so that they can sort it, for once and for all. Lightning....

I think you may mean mud spats  Splat is what mud does.

Cam, Unfortunately, I don't have a multi-meter available at home. However, on the previous occasion when the battery wasn't charging, it was 11.x and 10.x volts and 'funny' things were going on: Remote wouldn't unlock the car, but when you opened the door, all the indicators would flash etc, the Engine warning light stayed on the first time after trying to start etc. Anyway, I embarressed myself last time thinking it couldn't be the battery, so I won't pursue this line Lightning....

Ninka, I'm beginning to wonder if the battery charging problems aren't totally fixed. When the alternator wasn't charging the battery, I was getting weird 'cockpit' displays too. Perhaps the BCM gets its knickers in a knot if it doesn't have the voltage 'just right'. Damned silly way to design a car, if you ask me. I have to go to work tomororw (but it's a Public Holiday here) and can't drive it as it is now, so we'll see what happens on the morning. Titan Ford was the dealer. I have no hesitation that they'll do the right thing. Cheers, Lightning....

Geez, maybe I really DO need to change my logon ID: I went for a drive to Northam, York and Beverley today (300km or so) and, on the way back in heavy rain, I suddenly noticed a few strange things happening. Both indicator lights were on and when I turned high beam on, they flicked on and off. A whole bunch of warning lights came on, the car didn't miss a beat, but as they they went out, the ABS and TC warning lights stayed on. Not being game to stop the car, I checked that my braking still worked, turned off all excess electrics (stereo etc) and drove the 80km or so home. Indicators and everythign seemed to work okay, except when changing to high beam. ABS and TC lights stayed on. I got home, pulled into the carport and turned on high beam, all 4 indicators came on. So, I turned off the engine and waited a while. Now, when I lock or unlock the car, the front park lights and rear indicators flash instead of all 4 indicators. When you push the hazard button, rear indicators flash and front park lights (not front indicators). When I start the engine, all indicators except for the seatbelt light go out for a short time and all looks normal, then both indicators, the high beam symbol, ABS and TC come on. Park lights are on and all 4 indicators. Parkers flash when I've checked the fuse box under the bonnet and there is no indication of water. Any other suggestions? I guess it's getting towed to the dealer on Tuesday. Not happy, Jan. Lightning....

Ninka, that's funny, York was my first choice, but I decided on New Norcia because I hadn't been there before. Now I know why I just did a u-turn and headed back as there really isn't much there and I wasn't in the mood for a tour of the monastery (hmm, that doesn't look right). I may do another run tomorrow. This all came about 'cos the Roadside Assist guy joked "Do you drive your car or take it for a walk?" the other day. bas*ard! Lightning....

Hi all, Well, today I decided to go for a long(ish) drive to New Norcia. This is about a 2.5 hour round trip from my place and I chose it because it's not just a boring long piece of road, but twisty and turning, while still at 110 km/h. So, how'd I go? Well, the first thing I did after getting out of the city and up to Bullsbrook was to turn the stereo off That Turbo sound is soooo nice! This car accelerates so quickly it's bloody scarey. Overtaking lanes and Road Trains (double-B's, I think they are) were a piece of cake. Without saying too much, it was extremely easy for the speed alert to go off So, what did I think? I'm still getting used to the Sports wheel. I really, really prefer the Momo wheel I had in the AUII XR6, I so wish I could have it back! But, I suppose I'll get used to it. No whistling noises from the windscreen at all, and on most parts of the road almost all I could hear was the wind rushing past and the whine of the turbo. Gotta love that. Averaged 11.5 l/100km and 90 km/h during the entire trip. An interesting observation was that instantaneous fuel consumption went as low as 0.6 l/100km when coasting down a long hill with Cruise on at 90 km/h. Wish it was that low all the time! Now I just have to wash it to get all the bugs off! Lightning....

Just to add to the previous responses, very good effort. Well done! Lightning....

Okay, I will make an effort to be there.
