  1. gdae, just put the new iridium plugs in, goes at lest 50% better. put still a slight problem around 5000rpm with the same overfueling sound as last time when full throttle. any ides whats wrong there? still not enough spark when vct kicks in maybe?
  2. G'day mate, its probably incorrect to say losing boost, but when the engine gets to temp, from 2500 - 3000rpm onwards, anything over quater throttle and she starts popping, (similar to the sound of over fueling) and losses huge power. I serviced the solinoid today also cleaned the throttle body, put a meter over the coils and resistance was reading fine on all 6. however I did take out the spark plugs and cleaned em and chucked the feeler gauges on em, algud, except yes they were all quite white in colour, silly me thought the mixture was lean and went off on a tangent. ive got a little power increase today but not 100% Thanks mate, I'll take your words of wisdom and go grab sum new iridim plugs. I'll be sure to reply either good or not so good news. cheers again.
  3. G'dae mate, noticed that its been a couple of years since your no boost at operating temp problem. I was just wondering (if you receive this) if you managed to locate the problem? Because unfortunately my mk1 BA is doing the exact same thing. I've serviced the boost solenoid, cleaned and gap tested the spark plugs, put a meter over the coil packs and resistance wise all is good, also cleaned the throttle body, perhaps fuel filter next? I got a mechanic mate that has a tune shop, so I'll go there and pressure test the piping at temp, otherwise I'm at a bit of a loss as im a sparky and only a hobby mechanic. Your insight would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Hay m8, just wanted to known if you managed to locate the problem, it appears I have the same problem, I havent started fixin it yet wanted to check the forums, but myne has full boost and goes like a cut cut then, at temp no boost / over-fueling, at 2500 - 3000 rpm. btw im runnin a standard 03 mk1 BA auto. will try solinoid, re gappin the plugs, coil test and throttle body clean, here's hopen, cant let the commy's win.
  5. Gdae, I've recently brought a 2003 ba xr6 turbo falcon, its done 100,000kms now. now my problem is a lack of boost when at operating temperature, obviously over-fueling is a consequence. Any wanted response from the turbo after 2500 - 3000 rpm results in that over-fueling. I've cleaned and checked all the intake pipes, also replacing all the factory hose clips with the hex head variety. The wierdest part about this happening is that I get full reliable power and full boost before the engine has come up to temperature, power then fades as operating temp is achieved. ive owned a few straight six turbo engines (the nissan RB skyline series) and also have rebuilt them plenty of times with no hassle, but this BA has completly stumped. are the turbo seals gone? or perhaps an ignition problem, hopefully just a sensor (boost solenoid) but either way I'm at a loss, so if anyone knows or has had this problem before could I please get a solution to my irritating problem?
