  6. Haha...no problems...I appreciate all the feedback...while I don't want to waste money it is less important than ensuring I don't install crap...or cause future reliability problems... Cool...I will keep my eye out for the next cruise...be good to see what others are doing... Thanks.
  7. Thanks Brian for sharing your expertise...next time I see my tuner I shall inform them that they are wrong to sell 3.5 inch dump pipes for up-to 450fwkw applications...after all what would they know given the lack of time they spend on the forum...which seems to be the basis on which you determine knowledge. http://www.kpmauto.com/tabid/128/Default.aspx
  8. The dump looks like mild steel because it is mild steel... Why would I need a 4 inch dump pipe?...3.5 inch is more than suitable for up-to 450KW at the flywheel ...this is more than adequate for my application...
  9. The 3.5 inch dump pipe is also new and part of the exhaust system price...
  10. Hi All, During the week Exhaust Technology treated my vehicle with a new custom made 3.5 inch stainless steel exhaust system...at $2,500 it isn't the cheapest option...however arguably it is the best...listening to this system is better than sex with Jennifer Hawkins...hmmm...maybe not quite... ...if you're looking for a premium exhaust for your pride and joy then I highly recommend seeing Mark at Exhaust Technology. I note that many posts ask if a tune is necessary after exhaust modifications...the varied replies often received just leads to confusion...the reason is...it just depends on what other modifications are installed...and the current tune...what isn't debatable is that after exhaust modifications the vehicle should be dyno tested to ensure the safety of the engine...in my case the vehicle was running lean with turbo spikes...driving the vehicle under these conditions could of been disastrous...be warned! Finally...big thanks to David and the boys at KPM Motorsport...with no booking...they resolved my problem promptly with high flow injectors and custom tune.
  11. Hi psifed2, I use KPM Motorsport to look after my tunes...I am very happy with their work... http://www.kpmauto.com/contactus.aspx ...if you want a tuner out North then I would try Morpowa... http://www.morpowa.com.au/contact.html ...hope that helps.
  12. Hi dylanparish1990, Personally I would use the Auto Meter "Cobalt" range... http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugelist.aspx?sid=4&opid=1&szid=2 ...in particular...boost (#6160)...oil pressure (#6153)...and oil temperature (#6156)...they seem to match up nicely with the standard gauges. Hope that helps.
  13. Hi EZ2CME, My vehicle is pretty much still stock and I have already snapped the driveshaft...it does happen... Fortunately it was covered under warranty...however I was considering getting a modified driveshaft from Final Drive Engineering. http://www.finaldrive.com.au/ Phil from FDE sent me the following email on the 09/07/2010... "We have done several different mods for these cars. Generally the first thing to break is the tube. We have retubed both shafts using a heavier tube [which] usually costs around $550.00. We also do a version using a BF ute cv joint in the centre instead of the original uni joint and heavier tubes usually this costs around $1500.00. Either way we need to cut up your original shaft for this conversion." Hope this helps.
  14. Hi TonezXR6T, I wouldn't mind knowing the answer to this question myself...my understanding is that a completely new rear bumper is required...I.e. http://Bogan special .com.au/product.php?1800 Thanks.
  15. Thank you for your replies. The vehicle will only be used for occasional "spirited" driving and possibly during some Mallala track days. I had considered sticking with the existing brake setup...however just looking at what other options where available. What improvements can I expect by replacing the rotors (DBA4000)...pads (any recommendations?)...brake lines...and quality brake fluid? Has anyone powder coated callipers before?...any advice?...what did it cost? Thanks.
