  1. It's going back next week
  2. That linked document is straight off Fords website as of about 2 weeks ago. Well thanks for making this clearer. Its good to see that when Ford test a phone with a car, they don't classify error messages as a problem.
  3. Mine does this too. Dealership tells me its part of the car. Leaf spring rubbers are also something to check, they are a problem on mine as well.
  4. OK. So why would Ford test an Iphone 4 for Bluetooth and not the Ipod connection? And why wouldn't after testing these phones Ford support their software and update it? Anyway arguing about this doesn't solve the problem because it can't be solved unless an update is released supporting the Iphone 4 Ipod connection correct? - That's all I, and the others, needed to know. The message doesn't bother me mate, its when it doesn't function properly, cuts in/out etc.
  5. Bunna - What relevance does this have? It shows that Ford have continued to test phones after the cars have been released, but failed to update the software accordingly?

Round of applause.
  7. My phone was built, received and used before my car was built..... and I have the same problem as above. I'll question my local dealer on Tuesday when it goes in for a service.
  8. Looks good mate!. Where did you get the gauge holder? Or was it all done in-house?
  9. Important things to remember: - The sound frequency produced from a sub is of a very large wavelength which means it will bend easily around shapes/objects. What I'm getting at is, don't be too worried about getting everything symmetrical or in the middle, you won't be able to hear the difference. - If you are running a big amp, chances are you will need to run a large CSA positive supply direct from the battery, always put a fuse on the positive supply just after the battery so no fires can occur under fault conditions. - Try and avoiding running the audio signal and power supply along the same side of the car, it can cause line interference. Oh and I agree with above, it may look cool but 2 subs won't really improve sound quality. For directional speakers it will, but in a ute with a large wavelength, its a bit of a waste of space!
  10. I found small scratches on the drivers side door of mine. I blamed myself, maybe a rock or a branch or something, strange looking scratches. Then I looked closely.... Found touch up paint on them to try and disguise. Well done FORD. Hope your toy gets better. I have been hearing some noises in the back of mine. I'm just putting it off for a while as I can tell it won't be coming back to me in a hurry.
  11. I have a 2010 Xr50t ute and the same happens to me. As soon as I plug into the connector, that same message appears. I'm not on the phone a lot, but I haven't had many disconnections (1 or 2). I have found if I connect my Iphone4 when the ICC is set to CD/AUX, it will stuff up and the Iphone won't play any music until it is reset :-( I'm with telstra, but I have heard a lot of optus customers are having problems with their calls dropping out. If your with optus, maybe its a combination of the message and the reception? If there is a firmware update of some kind, please post it up because I'll do the same.! :D
  12. I wanted to come up with an easy way for some light weight tie downs but mainly something that I can lock my tool box's and alike reasonably securely. I'm also not a fan of altering my ute in such a way that it can't be altered back. So, I came up with the following. (I know its very simple but I'm sure it will help those who are trade-illiterate). I found that the aluminum rail around the edge of the tray (where the removable FORD tie downs are) happens to be the same size as your common Uni-strut. This means that the attachments for the Uni-strut will also fit the grove. All I did was get the essentials (bolt, uni-strut washer and uni-strut nut and away we go. Above is a few different types. You could install male or female uni-strut attachments, hooks or whatever uses a 8/10mm thread. The only important thing is that you make sure you get the right uni-strut nut that will sit inside the groove. After experimenting I found that because there is only JUST enough room for the nut, welds and heavy gal layers jammed it up... so "Measure twice, Cut(Buy in this case) once". ALSO make sure you don't mix Gal and stainless etc. We all know if binding occurs, you will be facing your toy with a grinder! I went for a bracket from Bunnings and a few washers to make sure that the 10mm bolt DOESN'T protrude past the nut and into the aluminum groove. I gave mine a spray so nothing rusts as I ground down the edges after I cut myself several times. As for the security part I mentioned. Someone strolling along could have a shifter in their pocket, but I think its better than the FORD easy-steal option. I guess if you really wanted to go the whole hog on the security side, you could always use 10mm security set screws, but you wont be able to get them off easily as they do up in one direction only. I just used a cheap bike lock through the eye bolt and on to my tool box. Simple I know. But at least the next person won't have to go though the process of thinking it out for themselves. Gus.
  13. I'd better steer clear of your bitter confrontation I can tell its going to end in tears and tantrums!
  14. Yeah its good fun. Apparently I got the last white manual one for Vic.... Or so I was informed. Don't worry, I'm sure in 6 months time there will be something bigger and better :D And to Henz and Tab; I see I have stumbled upon a Superman / Kryptonite thing hey? Unfortunately tab, seeing as I have the manual, your the bad guy who always loses :D
  15. I myself am looking at a hardcover since I have found the tonneau difficult for quick access. The two main covers they offer are below: Flat hard Cover Buldge hard cover Other then the obvious price difference and the buldge, are these both the same? And are there any annoying problems with either before I purchase :D?
  16. You are correct mate. Everything is fixed and sorted :-) I upgraded from an R34, which I did enjoy but the ute does suit my lifestyle more. Very practical. No plans as of yet because I am afraid of voiding the 3yr new car warranty. P.s. Nice numberplate
  17. Skyline owners :bangcomputer: Ahh good. I'm glad it is mechanically normal Well, I had to book another time, where a new key was cut. Something else must have gone wrong. But its fine now :-)
  18. Hey guys and gals. Thought I had better sign up to this forums since I bought a new 50th anniversary Xr6t ute a few months ago! I have had a read of a few posts, and like most motivated forums, the advice seems to be very helpful! Hopefully I can add a few things I find out with my car along the way! I did however, especially to all those other 50th anniversary ute fanatics, want to ask if you found any abnormalities with your new toy? Don't get me wrong, I love the car, I have just found the quality to be a little bit lower than expected and I am just trying to find out if it is my car, or the model its self! Coming from a Skyline background, perhaps I am simply too picky for Aussie made cars, but I have found the Gearbox (6sp man) and clutch exceptionally noisy at low rpm. To describe it, when changing from first to second, when disengaging the clutch, without touching the gearbox, multiple clunking sounds occur, which only seem to happen at low RPM. After asking the dealership, I got the response "that's how they make them, and we have had a few people come back with the same complaint". I have already gotten over the problem but I just wondered if anyone else got it too?? When I picked up the car initially, the right tail light didn't function and one of the flip key's programming had failed. Any ways, months have passed and I do enjoy this car, especially with the dog in the back :-). I just wanted some closure on this gearbox thing to see if mine was a dud or not and if I should continue to pressure ford to investigate it. Nice to meet you all.
