  1. Thanks for the help Kingers! The photos help make more sense of the situation. I had a feeling it was the base, as I tried stuffing the internals with cotton balls from the little tab beneath the mirror that changes the angle...I managed to cram in at least 30...made absolutely no difference lol I noticed the base of the mirror has 2 openings, one from either side. Do you insert a flat head into both sides when taking the mirror off? Or just one?? Ill give it a shot with the cable tie or JC807's solution with the paddle pop sticks, if that doesnt work, trusty old blu tak should do the trick ;P
  2. Thanks Arm79 I really appreciate it!! Ill give it a go over the weekend and see how it goes - hopefully wont have to be swinging it past O'brien on Monday
  3. Does anybody know how to get the rear view mirror off a BF Falcon XR6T?? Cause it has just about drove me insane with its non-stop rattling when my music is on! I have tried and failed...no visible screws or bolts, only a tiny slit where its stuck to the window..think that has something to do with it..tried using a flat head and felt like the window was gonna break so thought I'd get some advice first! Cheers!!
  4. Thanks Dre and Robos F6, I think I will go ahead with the cat and cat-back with a tune. The price to do the dump pipe is $700 more than cat/cat-back! I could get a tune for that kind of money...thanks guys really appreciate the help!!
  5. Or should I just upgrade to 3" cat back for $600???
  6. Thanks guys! greatly appreciate your help on this!! Ok so I have decided to go 3" dump pipe with high-flow metal cat and 3" custom cat back. Firstly, is there any issues with this set up that may be obvious? Will it affect my engine/turbo in a negative way at all or cause any future complications (other than defects for no muffler + noise pollution)? Please keep in mind I am not planning on doing any other tuning except a new panel filter + F6 snorkel - this is a work car so I have to keep it tidy. Secondly, will the sound be overbearing? I mean would it attract a lot of attention? I.e from police lol if anybody else has a similar set up I would be glad to hear from you!! Thirdly, what level of increase in performance is to be expected? And lastly, am I paying too much? Best price I could find was $1600 Sorry if these questions sound amateur I am just new to this all. Thanks for understanding! Cheers,
  7. Thanks Brods and Dillz. I would like it to sound a little louder, but still within the legal limit (I believe the ACT is 110DB?). The ute is stock with the 6-speed semi-auto and luxury pack and I dont plan to make any HUGE modifications to it, I quite like the stock-stealth look plus helps out with resale value. I guess my question is what can I change/upgrade in the exhaust system that will improve power and efficiency whilst minimising stress loading on turbo/engine, without having to retune or make any other modifcations to the engine? I will most likely upgrade air intake as well but dont really see myself going any further as its a work ute. I am looking at spending roundabouts the $1000 mark for an exhaust upgrade? What can I do with that much? (if anything) or do I need to spend more? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.
  8. Hi, Just bought an 06' XR6 Turbo ute and I'm looking at upgrading the exhaust system but do not know where to begin. What I do know is that I am not after a great deal of sound, although a lil rumble louder than stock would be appreciated! I would like to upgrade my stock exhaust system to improve power and efficiency, but more importantly improve breathability and air flow to minimise stress on my turbo and engine, especially at high revs. I will be looking at upgrading the air intake as well in the near future. Please feel free to express your opinions and experiences (if any) both good AND bad. If you could include estimated prices for each setup that would be great! I live in the ACT too if that helps, and if you could recommend anywhere to go for a good deal that would be even better! Cheers.
