Just like to add that I've got the same thing in my Fg as everyone's describing. Amazing how common it is.

I'd be keen to read anyones 2 cents on this topic too. Even a ballpark on reconditioning/replacement would be handy.

Ah, cheers. Good to know. Cars untouched in that regard at least. Take it that diff/auto issues aren't cheap or fun. It is a little hesitant to decide what gear it wants, does do a bit of a clunk after a corner in the back... figured that was just it being a relatively cheap car. :S

Was stupid to buy the car THEN start questioning it. Ah well. Gave up on finding out. Ford service said it "can't" be tampered with. Wasn't going to argue. Just them not keen on investigating it, up to them. Better start saving for a turbo rebuild or replacement now to be on the safe side. Usually the first thing to go after you rack up the k's right?

Should've also mentioned it's a ute. I'd be amazed if it was, it'd have brembos too right? :D Body on it is great, so at least that. About to have a talk with local dealers. Get a green light and off it goes to HPF or Nizpro for conservative tinkering. Maybe they'd have an idea after spening a few hours with it.

Ah yeah, maybe I'm just being OCD. Seats are actually pretty good. Steering wheel and auto shifter are shiny as though O_o .. Indicator and washer stalk crusty. Dash with weird marks. Meant do have done just over 50 thou.. looks more like 150 in ways. I was reading something about the ECU storing old KM data but maybe that's not right. It's ex NSW though, might have a go with REVS. Cheers for all the feed back so far.

Oh I should mention its a second hand, not new, from a dealer. Really hope it isn't. Love the thing. Going to get in touch with another dealer tomorrow morning . See if they can diagnose it for me. I'll keep you guys posted for info sharing sake if yas like. Totally want to buy me a keychain, look neat and/or donate. Hey all, Great forum. Gained so much useful info. Did a forum search and couldn't find too much on this, a thread or two. Anyone know who would be best to take my FG to, to suss out if the odometer has been tampered with/wound back. Maybe something a dealer might be able to do? Picked up one and starting to get suss on it's history. I'm in Vic if that's of any help. (suss because of disproportionate wear to certain interior pieces) Oh, and if it turns out provably tampered with, reckon I'd have any recourse under a statutory dealer warranty? Thanks for any info people may have.

Curious to hear any stories of audio upgrades on the utes too...

Anyone noticed their FG getting the milky, yellowed headlights that you can see on some other cars with plastic headlights? Bit early to be asking I know but curious to know if I should buy a set now, for later.
