  1. Not tuned by APS you won't though air/fuel mixture is up to each individual tuner. Thanks peter <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So Peter is 12.5 what you would consider to be dangerously lean ?
  2. I'd love to see the air fuel mixtures at 10 PSI...............I reclon they'd be dangerously lean. Peter <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You have, they were on my Dyno Sheet. You commented on the fluctuations but not on the fact that it peaked @ 12.5 Is 12.5 dangerously high ? Steve
  3. Welcome........be prepared to spend some money
  4. Cheers.........I just edited my post with another question !
  5. Thank chr*st, some intelligent questions and informative answers Martin, tell me all this talk about A/F fluctuations, do they only effect the smoothness / efficiency of power delivery or can it have a more sinister effect? Also are you saying that with just CAI and removed centre muffler the 8psi map will be a better drive and if so wont I miss that luvely little rush of speed around 4,500rpm that the 10psi map provides? Steve
  6. My sentiments exactly, after 2000 ks in the thing I bought I couldn't agree with you more. The worst part is it could have been such an awesome car, maybe one day all the corolla drivers at FPV will put their academic heads out of where they shouldn't be and wake up to the real world on a real road The Typhoon may have failed out of the PCOTY (twice) but it is definate contender for the "Australias Greatest Over-rated POS Award" and it would probably win hands down The worst thing is I was stupid enough to buy one <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well credit to you for speaking so frankly about your new purchase I am sure however that the Typhoon will hit back with a vengeance once edit (or other ECU enhancement) options are available. I know it should have been quicker in standard guise but lets face it with it's improved internals etc. and all that tourque, the Typhoon will have its day......and so will it's owners for that matter Steve

    Dyno's

Nick, Whats the difference of say shoot out 4 vs. 6 and how does it ffect the dyno results? Cheers Steve
  8. Ok patience is a virtue !! sorry for the wait and your right I have been out having fun Give me 20 mins and will spill the beans
  9. All things going well I should be able to tell you in about 4hours!
  10. kw and $$ aside, who started it and who finished it ......that's the important thing :banghead2:
  11. Dont be put off by it just because it will cost you more. In the scheme of things its still good bang for bucks ! Yes you can rig up a second CAI for $50 but imo the size of the inlet and how it collects the air makes the SS a better set up. I've tried both and the SS is more effective both in pick up and smoothness of delivery! CAPA and I think one other performance house sell pretty much the same thing so it cant be that bad............can it? I'm sure others will have differing opinions, that's only mine :banghead2: Why not go all out and get one of macka's shakers Steve
  12. APS Pete, Street Tuner, Dynowog etc. .......Your the experts how about some valuable feedback :banghead2:
  13. What are you actually trying to say.....

    Edit

Ok prior to ordering the edit I need to let the distributers here in WA know what tunes I want in the little box of tricks. Bearing in mind that the maximum rwkw on offer will be a safe 240 ish So the question is what should I be asking for? 1. Limited tune - Speed / rev. limited for the untrustworthy 2. Torque - Designed to provide more torque down low rather than outright KW up top. 3. Modded Tune - Designed to benefit centre muffler, CAI etc. 4. Ultimate fuel effeciency etc. etc. Within each tune things such as Auto change points, A/F ratio, rev. limiter etc can also be played with. Input would be greatly appreciated!! Steve
  17. I've tried both and $ aside the SS induction worked better for me. I also tried the SS and the XR8 airbox combined and despite the increase in intake noice, it had a negative effect. Some thing to do with the ram effect possibly. Getting rid of the ribs in the airbox proved to be a better reward for effort. Steve
  18. $1295 gets you the scanner with 3 pre-programmed maps which can be played with in a limited sense via the $199 home tuner kit. For an extra $400 you will get an additional map that can be customed tunes to your requirements Taking orders now, expecting shipment early next week. that's what I've been told anyways! Steve
  19. Whooooaaa!!!..........I have got one!
  20. Probably heat shield as Stang suggested. 2 options - Take it to Ford tom fix under warrenty - then repeat the process several times or pay an exhaust place $10 to get up on a hoist and do it yourself. Just bend the edges of the heatshield away from ewherever it touches the exhaust etc. If you have hit a speed hump you will need to do something more drastis like cut sections away. Steve
  21. Looking forward to the review. If it goes as well as it looks (inside and out) your a lucky man. Well done Steve
  22. . ......up a snow covered mountain into 150 knot headwind with MR Bean behind the wheel
  23. Ask yourself this.....Your sat in front of the TV, its the final of the next world cup and Australia needs 1 run with two balls to spare to become the undisputed one day cricket nation of all time (assuming they weren't already) and Gilly walks from a nick that only he is aware of..... Australia loses. Is it really his decision to cost the Nation (his employer) the trophy that they would have deservedly claimed within the rules of the game ? ..mmmmm Makes you question the simplicity of honour, does it not :loc: Steve
  24. Steve.... l like to personalize my car the way l like it.....others don't that's fine, if people don't like what l do, then tuff <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fair enough!
