  1. So Jeff how did you and others go against Hsv,skyline's,Bmw,GT's,mini's,honda's, wrx's etc ?
  2. I bet it's a bugger to keep clean............you should see my fridge
  3. ........and what was the result?
  4. that's ok very funny thow <{POST_SNAPBACK}> that ones not a joke. look on k&n web site <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Now that's funny!
  5. Would you know what the stock power of the car was? Was the 240 achieved on the standard 10 PSI map or custom tuned? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Standard ! Custom Tunes are likely to be a couple of weeks away as the tuners are only just starting to gain an understanding of the base tunes following receipt of their tuning equip. I for one will be leaving it a few weeks before going back for tweek Steve
  6. For those still wondering about whether the SCT Edit works on a MKII, I just heard about one that was done. Totally stock with a 240rwkw result : Also another MKI with CAI, exhaust got 257rwkw with standard CAPA tune.....AFR all ok. Injectors, valve springs and custom tune to come, apparently. Steve
  7. Excellant. Where have you seen the best results. In other words is acceleration from 0 faster or does its start to pull like a demon a bit further round the speedo or maybe both? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Definately pulls better throughout the entire rev range. Turbo still needs to spool up so the difference low down is noticable without being earth shattering. By 3000rpm your smiling and by 4000rpm your <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Some of the other benefits that I've noticed are: The increase in the rev limit. The fuel cut at the limit has been changed, so your car doesn't nosedive as it does with the standard fuel cut. I think the electric cooling fans switch on earlier. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your right the cooling fans do switch on earlier / more regularly. Oh and the gear changes with the auto are firmer under load which I like

Congrats on the new purchase and welcome to the site. Enjoy on both counts

  10. .....do you have any other mods jordak? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> SS induction/K&N filter and centre muffler mods only!
  11. Yeap.....Been in for 3 weeks and alls well! 60rwkw gain for $1,300 . Very happy
  12. Guageworks is mechanical whilst Autotechniques is an electronic version . Apparently Autotechniques changed from mechanical as they received complaints about it being noisy and not to flash on the accuracy side! Any comments from current users of both systems.......please Steve
  13. Simon from Nizpro suggested if I want to tow or do any 1/4 mile runs I would need to look at getting the larger fuel injectors. If I were to tow/1/4 mile now the engine would run lean and could cause damage. Dyno Read Out at Nizpro: 222RWKW Larger injectors @222rwkw ..........might be worth getting a second opinion!
  14. Very good !!
  15. In my case, the "before" dyno reading was 171rwkw which is obviously on the low side particularly given the filter, CAI and centre muffler mods in place. This would also explain why my car has never suffered from overboost. Assuming that all CAPA 10 psi tunes are the same, and I see no reason why they wouldn't be, I tend to think the 10psi related issues being experienced are reflective of probs with the inherent stock tune / high base power output. Steve <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Steve from experience the 2nd CAI and exhaust mods have nothing to do with stopping overboost. I have those mods as well as others and still get overboost when the car is cold. In relation to your other point, that's exactly what I am saying, it's nothing to do with the EDIT tune, but rather the parametres of the base power/tune of that car. With the differences we are seeing, you then put the 10psi map on which would technically exassibate the variations in power, hence why some are having problems and others not. My point is also about putting that sort of power through standard components, particulaly with things like injectors and valve springs in which we have also seen much variance form car to car. I would want to know exactly what was going on with 250odd rwkw. There is nothing to indicate to you how the car is coping with that generic tune, without getting it checked. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Steve from experience the 2nd CAI and exhaust mods have nothing to do with stopping overboost. I have those mods as well as others and still get overboost when the car is cold. Clarification.........170rwkw = no overboost, not 2nd CAI / exhaust mods.
  16. It may well have more to do with the power outputs of the respective maps rather than the tunes themselves. In my case, the "before" dyno reading was 171rwkw which is obviously on the low side particularly given the filter, CAI and centre muffler mods in place. This would also explain why my car has never suffered from overboost. Even with the additional approx. 60rwkw achieved with the 10psi map, total rwkw is a safe 230 in respect to injectors / valve springs etc. It stands to reason that 200rwkw stock T's could be achieving up to 260rwkw with the 10psi tune, in which case Im not surprised if probs. are occuring.........260rwkw is alot for a stocko to handle !! As I have stated before, mine is running sweet with the 10psi tune and with the dyno showing safe a/f readings I see no reason why a custom tune would be required to ensure reliability. That being said the SCT appointed tuners here in WA will be having a close look at my CAPA generic tune parametres next week so I guess any fine tuning required can be taken care of then if neccessary. Assuming that all CAPA 10 psi tunes are the same, and I see no reason why they wouldn't be, I tend to think the 10psi related issues being experienced are reflective of probs with the inherent stock tune / high base power output. Steve
  17. Another way to look at the power increases is to look at the improvement in RWKW from standard. That way, you can take into account the differences in the engine outputs before any program changes. So, how many ADDITIONAL RWKW do you guys thing you are getting from the 2 maps? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 30rwkw on 8 and 60rwkw on 10 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry should have said......that's not a guess, that's what the dyno showed !

  19. At the Herred launch night they got 236kw from the 8psi and 252kw from the 10 psi. From a stock atandard T. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What was the stock rwkw and was it a manual or auto?
  20. BP Ultimate !
  21. Do a a few searches with headings such as CAI, centre muffler and filter and you will find that all three can be modified for as little as $500 with noticable gains in throttle response
  22. Is the software likely to allow the Tuner to improve upon the smoothness of the 10 PSI power delivery do you think ?
  23. is yours fine on both maps... 8psi and 10 psi? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah 8's fine just a bit tame when compared to the 10. Is yours an auto or manual ? How about yours Jeff I assume your not having any probs. with the 10 also. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> G'day Steve, well can notice I pwr increase from the 8 psi to the 10 psi but on the 10 psi map im getting a surging problem what it feels like is the boost seems to go to 10 psi and then back to 8 or 9 psi then back up again its just not a smooth boost delivery but on the 8 psi map its fine just not as powerfull,I think injection prefection is the Sydney dealer for the flasher so im waiting for them to open so I can get a custom tune,as for the edit its self at this stg I think its a very good product will see what can be done with some custom tuning and its a perfect increase in the line presure in the Auto changes are a little bit firmer without being harsh C YA JEFF <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cheers Jeff.......Since you mention it I guess the 10 psi power delivery on mine could be a bit smoother as well. Never had this level of go so I dont really know what to expect. The Tuners in Perth aren't expecting their tuning equipment until mid-late Jan. so I'll look forward to hearing the results of your custom tune if done beforehand :o Steve
  24. link please?? Dave. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It aint the plugs..... probably the extra cai stuffing up the mixtures. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm running the 10psi with SS Induction as well as an under the headlight jobby and it's all good Steve <{POST_SNAPBACK}> is yours fine on both maps... 8psi and 10 psi? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah 8's fine just a bit tame when compared to the 10.
