  1. Shame there isn't a voice recording as well as video, you could have got some great mileage out of the "Give me $10 and I'll let you have your $20 worth of petrol". Either way I'm sure you'll have some fun with the Manager today. Looking fwd to the next instalment
  2. After running the stock system (centre muffler mod) with an edit I changed to a 3" xforce system and would have to say that there was an improvement in low - midrange power however not enough to justify the $1,100 outlay. A subsequent custom tune returned little improvement however this was found to be due to the xforce cat not being any better than the stocky. Once that was sorted the system has not held me back, although I'm only running around 260rwkw in an attempt to preserve the auto. As far as a 3" system being a step backwards from the stock twin 2 1/4inc I don't know however up to now noone has been able to tell me the flowrate of twin 2 1/2 pipes compared to a single 3" system that apparently flows @ around 750cfm which is better than most cats anyway. Some also hold the view that a single system is better matched to a turbo than a twin system. The problem with the stock system is that in addtion to the cat needing replacement the centre mufflers are not straight through (compared to the 3" xforce) hence they are also a restriction, which is why the tuning houses recommend their removal. The other consideration is the sound and in my opinion the 3" xforce has a far better sounding note than the stocky with the centre muffler removed I.e. quieter / deeper on cruise and angrier on full noise. You also don't get that burble fart burble sound on back off which did my head in after a while, too ricey. If I was to do it all again I would spend $1,200 or so on the new xforce 3 1/2" system (they use better cats now) as it will be adequate for most power levels, is a well made system, without the drone and or noise levels of a 4" system. To modify the stock system could cost you up to $700 by the time you buy a decent cat / centre muffler set up (hotdogs) and labour to weld in new cat and installation. Bearing in mind that you now no longer have the totally stock system to put back on the car or a second hand well built xforce system to sell of recover the cost difference.
  3. Both of my foglamps got cracked within 6 months of having the car. Couldn't be a*sed paying over $300 for replacements so I spent $30 on foglamp protectors instead which pretty much hide the cracks anyway.

F@#king ugly looking, tryhard ricerboy POS!............imo
  7. Thanks Nick will do, so plugs can deteriorate over time with added boost?? Pump mod was Steptoes so no change in hosing was required.
  8. Just lately the car periodically breaks down / misfires under boost ala spark plug gap issue. Have been running the same tune (250rwkw ish / 12psi) for over a year with F6 plugs gapped @.87mm. Now I know it's becoming the norm to gap the plugs @ .80 and below however given the car has been fine up to now I was wondering why the sudden onset of issues as I wouldn't have thought the plugs would deteriorate over that space of time, or do they??. Could it be something else, fuel perhaps ( running modified intank stock pump with recently changed in-line filter) however once again been fine for the last 12 months. Just after anyones thoughts before I regap the plugs.
  9. I'm in a happy place.............. GO the eagles!!
  10. Hasn't been a good month for celebs has it.
  11. I always thought the guy was a bit of a knob personally and as such took little if any interest in what he was all about. With his passing it has become all to evident what a genuine person he was and just how much he gave of himself to the planet and its people, a true blue Aussie Legend. Leaving for work this morning I left the family sobbing on the couch as they watched the memorial and couldn't help tearing up myself as I spared a thought for the impact this man has had on so many peoples lives.
  12. If you're going to celebrate something it might as well be a group of scumbag robbers and thiefs that spent their days raping and pillaging. Still I don't know why the Tax dept should be the only public sector to have a day dedicated to them.
  13. Thanks Al Well the first part sounds easy enough, which is all I need to do if the flow is good, right?
  14. No doubt many Turbo’s have failed due to the screen being blocked and possibly Peters (sixfan) was one of many. They are a very sturdy Turbo and one that is almost impossible to kill, but no matter how good they are they need Oil and lots of it. As I said to Ben Don’t even think about bolting the new Turbo on until you have found the cause of the first failure. Or you will be up for another $2k when the new one fails. Luckily for Ben he listens and has saved himself some $$$$$$$ None of us want to see anyone out of pocket yet it happens all the time. A tiny part probably worth $0.20 that takes out a Turbo and fills the intercooler with metal. Unfortunately there is no way of telling if the screen is blocked, short of removing it and checking. As Ben has indicated it should be done @ 30,000 km… Don’t wait for the Ford dealer to do it as they just keep putting on new Turbo’s ← Whats involved in checking this ourselves, is it a big job / not for the faint hearted or one well worth undertaking?
  15. The Eagles awoke from the sleepy dream That saw them go down to that Sydney team Now they're off to the spot To where deliverence was shot To give those croweating a*seholes a ream. PS any offence taken as a result of this limerick was unintentional.
  16. Yeh that sounds like alot of fun......not. Avalon...........wasn't he a hairdresser in Grease
  17. Well that's $1,200 you've just cost me Did the swaybars a couple of years back now and have been thinking about doing the shocks of late. Struggled to justify $2,500ish for Teins given I don't track it, but this sounds like a viable option. ZAP, what made the more impressive difference, the swaybars or the Koni's, or did you do them @ the same time?
  18. Good power that is held for a while up top. Lacks any real get up and go down low-mid. Nasty AFR's Proves the necessity for a custom tune.
  19. WAKE UP!!
  20. Here's some advice ......... SLAP YOURSELF ABOUT THE HEAD SEVERAL TIMES......and then consider this. You are a car enthusiast right, you love driving, playing with and talking about fast cars as well as spending time with like minded people. As a result a significant part of who you are will be lost by selling the T. If the T was all that stood in the way of getting a house tomorrow then it may be a sacrifice worth making but as you have said this is not the case. In order to achieve any significant financial gain both in a lump sum as well as ongoing running costs an Hyundai excel is exactly the type of car you will end up driving. Now slap yourself about the head again and think about that for a while. I know how it works, love interest comes along and the focus becomes settling down, getting a home etc. which is all good but let me share this little bit of wisdom there will always be more to life and in fact there needs to be for sanity sake. In closing remember this..........as hard as it may be to offload the T it will be alot harder to get it back! P.s If you can't bring yourself to slap yourself, give me a ring and I'll come around and do it for you

    Rice Or Nice?

By now you should be on the way to the powdercoaters ..........just don't go via the signwriters.
  22. Would you be prepared to forego the toxic smell of a gutted cat and the guttural sound of a free-flowing exhaust to save the environment? Tesla Motors
  23. Cheers Scotty. I went to Titans yesterday. I saw it, I sat in it, I touched it, I drooled over it. Now I have to wait until next bloody wednesday to pick it up. As well as having 666 as a build number it also has 666 as the last 3 digits on the plates. In light of all these 6s I have decided to call it SATAN ← LUCIFER has a nice ring to it May the next week of your life be the quickest ever
  24. Yes you are Dags, don't you understand this is exactly how it all starts. Next comes the "super scrubs", motivation tapes and before you know it your boarding a flight to Kentucky with all the other Mormons to collect your pyramid key chain.
